A Small Note

  1. This page is meant for talking to TenType. If you want to talk to someone else, go to their talk page.
  2. Please follow all the guidelines (Community and Scratch Wiki).
  3. Be respectful when posting. If your post is disrespectful, your post may be removed.
  4. Think about your post before posting.
  5. All questions are welcome - Wiki, Scratch-related, and personal questions are cool here.
  6. Assume good faith if I make a mistake.
  7. Refer to me as TenType, or TT for short. Please do not accidentally lowercase something in my name (like Tentype) it will irritate me.
  8. I like to use the Yes Done and No Not done format like the Community Portal, so if you think your topic/post isn't getting much attention or needs more attention, add No Not done (Optional) by typing {{Not done}} to the top of the topic. (below the title). Also add Yes Done (Please do) by typing {{Done}} and a <br/> (to add an extra blank line) if your discussion is completed (exception goes to Welcome and bot messages). This is for convenience and ease to users (and me) viewing this talk page.
  9. If you haven't responded to one of the posts here that I have sent and that is not done, I will send this message: User:TenType/Reply within 1-5 days. (I'll wait to see if you remember to check your watchlist)

Welcome TenType!
Hello there TenType! Welcome to the Wiki!
If you have any suggestions for the Wiki, just ask on the Community Portal!
When I first joined, I used this sheet to help me get started.

If you need any help:

Couple Tips if I may:
Be sure to check your watchlist often. You automatically watch a page when you edit it. If you check your watchlist, you will know if someone replied to you. Or you can check the Recent Changes.
Hope to See you SOON!

♥ A Little Welcome ♥

Wiki icon.png Hey there! Welcome to the Wiki, TenType! Wiki icon.png

I hope you can make lots of helpful edits. Remember to check out the new page policies and especially the guidelines. The Wiki can be a little tricky in the beginning - I'm still making lots of mistakes. Mainly remember to include a summary of what you did with your edits and use a signature at the end of a reply/new topic on talk pages only. Don't worry; you'll get the hang of things eventually!

Wishing you lots of luck, EIephant_Lover

About your welcome template

Hey there! I noticed that your welcome template looks really similar to mine, two posts above. I believe that you took the code, if not I apologize for accusing. Anyway, it's okay if you did, but could you please give credit? Thank you!

Hello! When I first made my Welcome template, I looked through some welcome templates that some users had. I saw yours, I really liked it, and, changed it up a little but kept the format. I guess I was in a rush, because I forgot to give credit. Sorry for not doing it, I'll fix it right away!

CP Topics

Yes Done
Hi there! It appears you took my idea of extracting important topics from the CP that were archived (I'm flattered). However, I already completed mine. So, there really is o point of yours, just saying.
NYCDOT Logo.jpg NYCDOT [ Talk Page | Contributions | Directory ] 22:26, 19 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi! I looked at your CP Topic page, but it seems as if that your's lists the topics that still have importance today, while mine has the ones that are memorable/notable (achievements or advancements). So, not to be rude, but technically there is a point in my page since yours has a different use than mine. I'll link yours and explain the differences on my page just in case somebody thinks I have the same exact page as yours.

Hello, I'm WikiMonitor, a bot that patrols the Recent Changes. This is just a friendly reminder that it appears you forgot to sign your post in revision 228076 of User talk:NYCDOT. Please fix this by adding four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your post to insert your signature and remember to sign your posts in the future. What? I left the word "Compressed" in my upload summary...
TenType (talk | contribs) 17:39, 9 July 2019 (UTC)
My bot only looks at the most recent summary - in which you said "minimized".
Kenny2scratch logo.jpg kenny2scratch  Talk  Contribs  Directory
02:59, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
So it has to have the word "compressed" in the recent summary too... That's a bummer.
TenType (talk | contribs) 03:57, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
What my bot compresses is the most recent version of the file as of the time it is run. If you upload, then reupload, before my bot sees either log, it will only look at the reupload.

On your userpage, you mentioned what WikiFauna(s) you are and the percentages of them you are. How did you find out which ones you are and the percentages of them?
Jammum Icon.png Jammum (💬 Talk - 🔧 Contribs) 07:05, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

For the types of WikiFauna, I just looked at the Wikipedia pages of them, like Wikipedia:WikiMercenary. You could check Wikipedia:WikiFauna for a quick summary of them. For the percents, just estimated which ones I would most be, like on Chrischb's user page. Too bad there isn't a WikiFauna calculator, and even if there was one, it would have a lot of information collecting and take loads of time, since there are so many species of WikiFauna.
TenType (talk | contribs) 17:05, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

Please do more than just capitalization

Hi, I just saw your recent edits on the various "(value)" pages and others, and thanks for your enthusiasm, but edits that minor are next to useless. Could you do a general clean up of articles you edit rather than just caring about SB and See Also caps? That would be great. Thanks!

Game and Talking

Hello! I saw the randomness game you had on your user page! I decided to try it and got 29! What is your record? Also, like you said though my mouse, how do you talk though someone's mouse in the way you did it? Thanks!
MrSquirrelDeDuck (talk | contribs) 18:33, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

Hi! I don't remember my high score, but I remember a time I got over 50 pages. (mindblowing!) And to talk with your mouse, just use
<span title= "Whatever you want it to say">mouseover</span>
Like this: mouseover. Hope I helped!

Inactive Notice

Hello all!

This is just a heads up to everyone viewing my talk page that I will be mainly inactive for the rest of the week due to vacation. And yeah... that's it...
TenType (talk | contribs) 19:21, 4 August 2019 (UTC)

A small question

I know you are gone on vacation, but hopefully you notice this when you return.

I see you used a special font on your user page, but how did you do that? Could you teach me please? Thanks!
Nambaseking01 (talk | contribs) 19:58, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

Hi! To use a specific font, you could use something like
<span style="font-family:FONT">TEXT</span>
and the font would be that! For example, monospace: Monospace
Div and a lot of others work too. Also, don't close the tag if you want the whole page to be a specific font, like mine.
And, I just came back from vacation as you can see. Yay!
TenType (talk | contribs) 19:00, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
Great! I am currently on vacation, but I manage to come online every night. Anyways, thanks for explaining — I will use this in my talk page and userpage.
Nambaseking01 (talk | contribs) 20:14, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
The only issue is, I want your font and I cannot figure out which one it is. You used a template and I am too lazy to click and go all the way there. ;P
Nambaseking01 (talk | contribs) 20:34, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
It's the Futura font. :D
TenType (talk | contribs) 20:10, 10 August 2019 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Oof, I found out before you said it.
Nambaseking01 (talk | contribs) 08:12, 14 August 2019 (UTC)

Another small question

Sorry for annoying you with so many questions, but how do you find all the new workers. I have a new welcoming template which I used your format for and gave credits, but how... I know there is a list, but do you need to skip through the pages every time you want to find new users? Huh.
Nambaseking01 (talk | contribs) 19:25, 10 August 2019 (UTC)

New Wikians? I use the User Creation Log found at Special:Log/newusers, but sometimes I use Recent Changes to check.
And questions are a-okay, no matter how much you ask them!
TenType (talk | contribs) 20:17, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
I also know about that log — I just could not find it anymore. But thanks!
Nambaseking01 (talk | contribs) 20:38, 10 August 2019 (UTC)

Well, another small question

Note Note: I feel like you are about to ban me from your talk page at some point...

But yeah, how do you find out if a Wiki article or page already contains the same word you are about to write? Are there any search techniques?
Nambaseking01 (talk | contribs) 18:31, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

What do you mean? Like in titles or by using ctrl/command + f or anything?
(Lol, questions are good! I would never ban people for asking too much :P)

TenType (talk | contribs) 02:05, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
So I am currently writing a subpage with my infinite likes (I am aware of the 2048kb limit, I will probably create another subpage if it arrives to that ;P) but I want to make sure that I do not add a like that I already had written. Is there a check system to do this? That is my question.
Nambaseking01 (talk | contribs) 07:57, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
You could use ctrl/command + f on the page to see.
TenType (talk | contribs) 04:21, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
Oh, thanks! :D
Nambaseking01 (talk | contribs) 08:09, 14 August 2019 (UTC)

A few pedantic notes

Sorry, I saw your edit summary on the Mblock page and had to mention this:

GUI is in fact pronounced "goo-ey". On the other hand, it was in fact unnecessary to include that in the article. Therefore you made the right edit for the wrong reason.

Pedantry over.
Kenny2scratch logo.jpg kenny2scratch  Talk  Contribs  Directory
05:32, 23 August 2019 (UTC)

Isn't it "gee-you-eye" instead of "gooey"? I searched this up on the internet and it was more common than the latter pronunciation.
TenType (talk | contribs) 23:29, 23 August 2019 (UTC)
I'd think that pronouncing the letters individually would be okay, but I also think I may have heard people say "gooey." (Sorry for replying, I know I wasn't part of this conversation before, but I saw it and decided to post.) :)
Bigpuppy Logo.png bigpuppy talk | contribs 23:39, 23 August 2019 (UTC)
Oh, that's interesting. I've barely heard GUI being said pronounced as "gooey".
TenType (talk | contribs) 00:05, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
I believe I've heard it that way. :)
Bigpuppy Logo.png bigpuppy talk | contribs 00:09, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
Isn't "gee-you-eye" the most common though? If you search up "GUI pronunciation" on the internet, most results show "gee-you-eye".
TenType (talk | contribs) 00:15, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
Maybe. However, as Ken said, it's not relevant to the article, so users can chosoe to pronounce it however they see fit, I guess. :P
Bigpuppy Logo.png bigpuppy talk | contribs 00:41, 24 August 2019 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Yeah we're arguing about something that doesn't need to be argued with. :P
TenType (talk | contribs) 02:42, 24 August 2019 (UTC)

I've always pronounced it goo-ey because the book that taught me Python eight years ago specifically explained that it was pronounced goo-ey. I've never heard anyone pronounce it otherwise. /shrug
Kenny2scratch logo.jpg kenny2scratch  Talk  Contribs  Directory
06:06, 24 August 2019 (UTC)
I am not sure... There is a Lua tutorial person on YouTube and they said "goo-ey" earlier but everyone in the comments said he was incorrect and so he started pronouncing the letters individually so I also do it that way.
Nambaseking01 (talk | contribs) 17:16, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
I don't know, must be because we live in different countries maybe.
