Congratulations on becoming a member of the Scratch Wiki! I'm KangaCoder, an Experienced Wikian. If you have any questions regarding the Wiki or want to just chat, feel free to leave a message on my talk page! Cool tips on how to edit
  1. To edit, click the pencil icon at the top of the page next to your username. Then, click edit. If you don't see the button it may be because the page is protected for certain users.
  2. After you are in the editor, check out the cheatsheet for editing tips.
  3. You can also check out the help pages for more detailed information on editing.
  4. You can test editing features out in the community sandbox (it will get cleared every few hours), or you can make your own sandbox here.
  5. Before making a page, make sure it does not already exist. You can do this by using the search bar located at the top of the page.
  6. If the page you wanted to make is already created, you can create a redirect page! For more info on redirect pages, see this.
  7. To make a page, go here, or type the page name you want in the search bar and then press the link that says "create this page by editing this!"
  8. For information on magic words, check out the MediaWiki Documentatation.


Cool tips for finding pages to edit
  1. Use random page
  2. Check out articles to expand
  3. Check out article stubs
  4. Look at edits on recent changes and see what you can do to improve it even more.


Cool tips for posting on talk pages
  1. To post on someone's talk page, simply press the pencil icon and then press "New Topic". Type in the subject and message.
  2. Then, make sure you sign your post with 4 tidles (~~~~)
  3. When replying to a talk page post, edit the section that has the message and then indent your post with a colon (:). If someone already replied, use one more colon then they used. (See example conversation below)

Please do not re-create deleted articles

Hi,

Yesterday, I deleted your article How to add Gravity because it was a duplicate of Simulating Gravity, but today you created Adding Gravity which was basically the same as the page I deleted the previous day. When a page is deleted, please look at the reason why it was deleted (available in the deletion log) before creating it again. Also, in general, please search for existing articles before creating new ones to make sure the subject isn't already covered somewhere else.

Lots of edits in How to Move a Sprite in a Spiral

Hi there! Checking Recent Changes, it looks like you made 7 edits to the article How to Move a Sprite in a Spiral in just a few minutes.

Looking at the history, it looks like you were editing tiny things of each section of the article. In the future, you can click the “Pencil icon > edit” to edit the whole page. This way, you don’t need to edit each section, which helps to not clog up Recent Changes so much. :)

Please compress files you upload

Hello, I'm TemplatesFTW, a bot that does various maintenance tasks in the background. This is just a friendly reminder that when uploading File:Rv.png and File:Physics.png, the image size was kinda big, and it could have been smaller if you had compressed it with TinyPNG.
