Welcome!
By the way, I've compiled a list of tips for New Wikians. To see them, click "Expand" on the right side of the box below.
New Wikian Tips |
---|
These tips were written by Bigpuppy and transcluded from this page. The original version was written for Dressygirl, but now they are quite different. Thanks to jvvg and Kenny2scratch for helping me touch it up. I originally wrote the indenting instructions for Ski-, but I've changed them a lot for these tips. |
Have fun on the Scratch Wiki, and good luck editing!

All at once
Blocks are not considered to exist unless they are available in the palette. The Scratch editor has several unused blocks, some of which have stopped functioning. But that doesn't mean the blocks are considered to exist. This is the standard across all pages, please see S:OWN, thank you.
Naleksuh (talk | contribs) 16:28, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- Ok, but i just want to make peoples know that the block isn't removed for real and can still be used by saving it in a project just before the update of Scratch 3.0.Also, it's useful to not make a block each time we need to use it.I'm one of the rare peoples who saved it in a project

Scratch bugs
Hello! I just wanted to let you know that I had to delete the redirect you created (Scratch bugs) as it was a capitalization redirect. For more information, see Help:Redirects#When not to make redirects. However, thank you for your contributions to the wiki!

Re
Hello! I saw you pointed out the revisions where someone removed a lot of Saving Data, but I looked through them and it seems constructive. One of the issues pointed out on a {{Wiki Standards}} template is that the page was too long, so the user summarized it. Feel free to edit the page if you want to add more stuff back, but I wanted to clarify that these revisions were beneficial. Thank you, and have a great day!

- Ok, i was just a little suprised when seeing that !!!
Scratcheur-2020Send (talk | contribs) 16:22, 6 October 2020 (UTC)- Also, please only use the report button if there is something breaking the Community Guidelines and is a serious issue. User files are allowed on the wiki. Thanks.

TenType (talk | contribs) 16:24, 6 October 2020 (UTC)- They aren't allowed on the french wiki :)
Scratcheur-2020Send (talk | contribs) 16:27, 6 October 2020 (UTC)- The wikis are independent from each one. You are not obligated to copy-paste every rules from English Wiki. (for example, Japan Wiki is allowing [browser extension removed by admin], but not the English Wiki.)
ahmetlii Talk Contributions Directory 16:34, 6 October 2020 (UTC)- @Scratcheur-2020Send Ah, I see. Thank you for letting me know that. As Ahmetlii said though, English Wiki rules are different. User files are allowed if they are being used for userspace and not using the wiki as an image host. KrIsMa deletes unused files every year. That being said, just remember this in the future. I appreciate your willingness to help.

Browser extensions
Hi there! Thanks for your contributions to the wiki! I just wanted to let you know that in general, Scratch's browser extension policy applies to the Scratch Wiki. Thanks!

About Template:Project
Hello! I saw you created a template, however, you used it for "testing", which is not allowed. Templates in the Template namespace are usually created upon consensus on the Community Portal and should have some use. I've moved the template to your userspace at User:Scratcheur-2020Send/Template:Project, but please remember that personal templates should be created in userspace. Thanks!

About image
That's fine if someone put only their name as file name.
ahmetlii Talk Contributions Directory 17:02, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, but i read somewhere that logos files names must be the username followed by "'s logo"
Scratcheur-2020Send (talk | contribs) 17:36, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
About the article that you created
Unfortunately, English Scratch Wiki is not accepting user-generated content anymore. But also, you can open a topic on CP and try to get a consensus.

ahmetlii Talk Contributions Directory 10:38, 22 October 2020 (UTC)- I just don't know what was user-generated content 10:43, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- See S:UGC. It has a description on there. If you want to create, open a topic in S:CP and discuss it in there to get a consensus.
ahmetlii Talk Contributions Directory 11:05, 22 October 2020 (UTC)- Well, you can delete it by opening this in your browser : https://en.scratch-wiki.info/w/index.php?title=TurboWarp&action=delete
Scratcheur-2020Send (talk | contribs) 11:11, 22 October 2020 (UTC)- Actually, only Experienced Wikians and above can delete pages.
Jammum (💬 Talk - ✍️ Contribs) 12:16, 22 October 2020 (UTC)- I can do it by using the Browser console, that's not a problem...
- But the last time i used the console to unprotect my userpage of the french wiki, it destroyed the entire userspace due to a grammatical error in the code XD
- @Smrman had to restore all that page and changed the auto-unprotect date to 26/10/2020 T_T

I mean that only Experienced Wikians and above can delete pages on this (the English) Wiki. You said you could unprotect pages on the French Wiki, but user rights are not always carried over from wikis of different languages.

Do not report revisions to "test"
Hello, and thank you for your contributions! I noticed you reported a revision for "test"; please do not report revisions that aren't extremely serious. It's a waste of time for us EWs and admins who have to check on the report and handle it. Please keep this in mind for the future, and have a good rest of your day.
TenType (talk | contribs) 17:25, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- The test report was just for a screenshot to document the report article, tomorrow when you will have a same report, ignore it ... Also, you can see the report article page tomorrow with the screenshot i made Good Night 💤
Scratcheur-2020Send (talk | contribs) 19:27, 23 October 2020 (UTC)- I saw you also reported a revision because we didn't delete a page you marked within 12 hours. PLEASE only use the report function for very serious revisions that break the CGs. If you're wondering why it hasn't been deleted yet, its because currently our Recent Changes is filled with unpatrolled edits and unreviewed account requests which we have to handle (we get like 250+ edits and 7+ requests per day). If you want to request admin action for something not that serious, please go to S:CPSYS and make a new topic. Thank you.

You have a Snap! account?
I just saw that you made a project on Snap! with a similar username to your Scratch account. Do you really have a Snap! account?
because I have one too.

Talk page redirects
Hi there! Thanks for your contributions to the wiki! I saw you put {{delete}} on many talk page redirects. However, where in policy does it say that talk page redirects are not permitted? Thanks.
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 18:05, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- They certainly are allowed. This especially applies to talk pages created from page moves. Scratcheur-2020Send, this is not the first time you have misused the delete template, and I think this mass editing is problematic as well. All of the delete templates have been removed. Please exercise caution with mass editing in the future, and discuss deletions for things that do not blatantly violate policy.

- Those edits were by me and were targeting talk page redirects that have deleted main pages. Very sorry if the edit summary was unclear - I did not want for it to mean that all talk pages should be deleted.

(user id) and <key [shift v] pressed?>
- I read that you brought back the user id block in a project. Does it work? Also, I read that you said you can make a <key [shift v] pressed?> block. Can you tell how please because it would be really cool?

About Template:Changelog and Template:Changelog/Element
Why did you create Template:Changelog and Template:Changelog/Element? Did you get approval on the Community Portal? Where is the documentation? What do those templates even do?
It appears you moved it from a user page. Please move it back. You can still use a user page like a template if you include the full page name (including the namespace). You can then ask for approval on the Community Portal. Thanks1

- I have deleted the template as you have not replied to any message involving the template, and its purpose and usage is not fully known.
