Scratch bugs

Hey! Remember when you edited the link scratch.mit.edu/abouta that is the correct link. It sends a malformed cookie on that EXACT link. Not sratch.mit.edu/about
GAMS2 (talk | contribs) 16:16, 12 February 2022 (UTC)

I think you're right. This post shows the misspelling is intentional

He commented on my profile, I sense an edit war is about to start....
GAMS2 (talk | contribs) 02:44, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
I'd just recommend not to change it anymore until an EW (probably Jammum) or Admin decides which is correct
Jackson49 (talk | contribs) 02:53, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
I actually contacted Jammum ten ish minutes ago. I'm waiting for a response.
GAMS2 (talk | contribs) 02:59, 13 February 2022 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────I think they changed their mind. Also, when I reverted it, I forgot to consider that it had already been reverted before. I'm sorry if that would be considered starting an edit war.
Jackson49 (talk | contribs) 03:56, 13 February 2022 (UTC)

Please do not edit war

Hi,

On the page Scratch Bugs, you started an edit war, which is basically where you keep undoing where people revert your edits. On the Wiki, we have a policy called Bold, Revert, Discuss which is where if your edit is reverted, discuss before putting it back. Since you made the edit originally, it is your responsibility to justify it on the talk page. Please avoid edit warring in the future and make sure to discuss why you made an edit if you think it was unfairly reverted.

As for this specific case, the reason Jammum and I reverted your edit is that even though you said "Padlet" was only a specific example, your section was written in a way that made it sound like Padlet being blocked was the entire bug and overly focused on that specific example. Additionally, it is quite possible that Padlet was blacklisted intentionally similar to how things like Discord and Google Drive links are. Finally, censor false positives aren't really quite the same as the other bugs on the page as they aren't really a problem in the programming so much as just an imperfect filter.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 00:24, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi, your edit summary on this edit is not acceptable. Telling people not to undo your edit is a violation of Scratch Wiki guidelines: the Wiki is not yours. If you do not want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here. If you continue in this way, the Wiki may not be the best place for you.
Please reply to this message so that I know you have read it.

Please don't make several edits in a short amount of time

Hello, I'm WikiMonitor, a bot that patrols the Recent Changes. This is just a friendly reminder that you should try to avoid making a lot of edits to one page in a short amount of time. Specifically, you made a lot of edits (6 in the last hour) to April Fools' Day recently. Please use the "Show preview" button before submitting edits to prevent this in the future. Thanks!

If you have any questions about this, please check out the FAQs.

About an edit you made

Hi. In this edit you made, you undid your edit that I previously reverted. If this edit were major, then it would violate the Bold, Revert, Discuss Policy, which says that if an edit was reverted, rather than immediately reverting back, you need to discuss why it should be reverted back on the page's talk page. However, this edit is, frankly, not very significant nor important to the article, so it doesn't fall into BRD.

So, in the end, after looking back at the edit, I think it would be helpful, for some users who might not know, to include (i've cleaned up some of the grammar in it).

Please don’t start an edit war

Hi again. I’m sure you know about the Bold, Revert, and Discuss Policy as it has been brought up 2 times on this talk page. In this edit, you undid the edit by Jammum (talk | contribs). As the policy states, you need to explain why on the talk page; which you did not do. Please create a new topic on the talk page explaining why you think your edit should remain. Thanks.
Kanga logo.png KangaCoder talkcontribsprofile 22:34, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

Well, it is unfinished and I tested it. And, I'm not very sure how talk pages work. Now I do. Thank you.

Please do not make too many edits in a short amount of time

Hi,

You have made about 15 edits over the span of one hour to Scratch Wiki:April Fools/Scramble. Please avoid making repeated edits to a single page in quick succession and instead use "Show Preview" to avoid clogging up recent changes. Also please be aware that I have determined that you are abusing {{NoBots}} to avoid WikiMonitor holding you accountable for your actions and have instructed the bot to override that template for your userpage.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 00:17, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

Sorry, because I forgot the preview is under the edit thing, Wikipedia was not. Sorry, because I changed background to Vector, looked too much like Wikipedia.

Please be respectful on the Wiki

Hi, your response on this topic was disrespectful and intolerable on Scratch, let alone the Wiki. The Scratch Community Guidelines, which also bind the Wiki, require that you be respectful to others. In addition, this is the latest of a pattern of guideline-violating behavior - you have been warned multiple times for edit warring and other guideline violations. Consider this your final warning. Please re-read the Wiki guidelines and the Scratch Community Guidelines; only continue editing if you are 100% confident you can follow them. If you can't, the Wiki is not the right place for you.

I'm not trying to be rude. But if you really think it is rude on your side of opinion, I can't do anything with it. I can follow the guidelines, of course, but I really can't see the problem because rude or not rude is by opinion. Opinions doesn't mean it's wrong or right.
Pizza0430 (talk | contribs) My siggy is made 02:34, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
It's not that your opinion was different from others - it's how you worded it. "You're wrong" is generally unacceptable in respectful conversation. Express your own opinion without disparaging others.
Kenny2scratch logo.jpg kenny2scratch  Talk  Contribs  Directory
08:03, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
What? "You're wrong" is to use for a personal opinion, meaning someone is wrong on a specific subject. It can be used during any time, and its uses are wide, by saying that if one had a fact, but it's actually wrong. "Hello! You know, Scratch is not coding.", said Alice. "No, you're wrong. Scratch IS coding.", said Bob. "Oh, really? Let me check, oh yeah!", said Alice. "Told ya. Never trust random sites and Google.", said Bob. You see, there is nothing rude or wrong in this conversation. No bad words, no swear words, nothing offensive. How can it be a rude thing? Right? If this was what you think, nobody in the world will ever ever say no bad words. Rudeness level 0.
Pizza0430 (talk | contribs) My siggy is made 08:33, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
You're wrong is OFTEN used in respectful conversations, because they are not really respectful, but neither it is "not un-respectful". If not so, I would prefer this wiki a website blog. You know why? Wikis are NOT based on opinions by saying if it is respectful or not. I would prefer you to get more time on making blogs and something that will not waste time.
Pizza0430 (talk | contribs) My siggy is made 09:00, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── The wording of "you're wrong" is excessively harsh and dismissive. Even if you think that the other person is incorrect, you need to say so politely and gently. Something as simple as just stating what you think is correct is usually the best way to go. Simply a lack of offensive/inappropriate language does not make something not rude.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 20:10, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

Fine. If you think it is rude. I'll not use that word, but just saying, I think so saying if it is rude is highly on personal opinions. Did you guys said the wiki should not verify rules due to personal opinions? I'm ultimately confused with "Wikis".
Pizza0430 (talk | contribs) My siggy is made 00:58, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
The "you're wrong" is used in a tone of moderate to slightly harsh, which still didn't go over any rules on wiki. It's not worth arguing though. 😐
Pizza0430 (talk | contribs) My siggy is made 01:00, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
Have you ever been banned by the teacher by saying "You're wrong"? I bet no teacher does that. Blogs and websites would be suitable. Maybe close the wiki into a blog? Not a good idea, but the best choice if you say that's rude.
Pizza0430 (talk | contribs) My siggy is made 01:02, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
Would you prefer if somebody said “you’re wrong” to your opinion or “I respect your ideas, but I think...”? The latter is more polite, thoughtful, and formal - all things the Wiki strives to maintain - while the latter conveys a message of authority and superiority and definite knowledge that you are 100% accurate on this subject. Which would you prefer?
Kanga logo.png KangaCoder talkcontribsprofile 02:28, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
I'm fine with "You're wrong". But, if you think it is not enough respectful, as said above, I won't. And I am not mean to say unrespectful words, I prefer respectful words. I'll try higher the respectful level of any conversations. 03:39, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
