Welcome!
Welcome!
Hey there! Welcome to the English Scratch Wiki, Mrrecordman. Congratulations on joining us! I'm bigpuppy. If you have any questions or would just like to chat, feel free to leave a comment on my talk page.
By the way, I've compiled a list of tips for New Wikians. To see them, click "Expand" on the right side of the box below.
New Wikian Tips
|
---|
- Check out the help pages if you haven't yet. They explain a lot of stuff on the wiki.
- Use the sandbox to test out formatting and other stuff. The public sandbox gets cleared automatically every few hours by a bot. If you'd like your own sandbox that won't get cleared automatically, you can create one by going here.
- You reply to others by clicking the pencil icon in the top-right of the page, then clicking "edit." After that find the person you'd like to reply to, add the right number of :'s - the first person doesn't add any, the second person adds one, third adds two, fourth adds three, and so on. Then you type what you'd like to say and sign it with ~~~~. You click save page and there you go! Here is an example conversation for you that is fake:
- Hi everyone! There's a mistake in the "Scratch" section.
Example User 1 (talk | contribs)
- Oh...Yeah. One of the images needs to be changed.
Example User 2 (talk | contribs)
- I'll do it now!
Example User 3 (talk | contribs)
- Great!
Example User 1 (talk | contribs)
- Awesome!
Example User 2 (talk | contribs)
- Oh, there's also a spelling mistake in that same section. I'm fixing it now...
Example User 1 (talk | contribs)
- ┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘ I'm done changing the image!
Example User 3 (talk | contribs)
- Great!
Example User 2 (talk | contribs)
- And here is the code for that example conversation:
- Hi everyone! There's a mistake in the "Scratch" section.<scratchsig>Example User 1</scratchsig>
- :Oh...Yeah. One of the images needs to be changed.<scratchsig>Example User 2</scratchsig>
- ::{{doing|I'll do it now!}}<scratchsig>Example User 3</scratchsig>
- :::{{cool|Great}}<scratchsig>Example User 1</scratchsig>
- ::::{{cool|Awesome}}<scratchsig>Example User 2</scratchsig>
- :::::Oh, there's also a spelling mistake in that same section. {{doing|I'm fixing it now...}}<scratchsig>Example User 1</scratchsig>
- {{outdent|:::::}}{{done|I'm done changing the image!}}
<scratchsig>Example User 3</scratchsig>
- :{{cool|Great}} {{e|:D}}<scratchsig>Example User 2</scratchsig>
- If you have any big questions about the wiki or suggestions (or something else relating to the wiki that you want a lot of people to see), you can post in the Community Portal. This is the official main talk page for our wiki. You can also reply to posts there.
- If you're looking for pages to edit, I recommend random page. You can find it on the navigation bar (to the left) of the wiki. You can also look in the category "Pages to Improve"; it has multiple sub-categories with pages that need to be changed.
- The box below where it says "summary" when you make an edit is for your edit summary. Put a short description of your edit here.
- Please check "This is a minor edit" if your edit is minor when making an edit — this means things like just changing capitalization, removing a space, or another small edit like that.
- If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! There's a list of Experienced Wikians (people that have been elected by the community to help lead it) here. There's a list of active users here. Of course, you can also ask me on my talk page or ask on the Community Portal.
- Good luck, and have fun editing here!
These tips were written by Bigpuppy and transcluded from this page. The original version was written for Dressygirl, but now they are quite different. Thanks to jvvg and Kenny2scratch for helping me touch it up. I originally wrote the indenting instructions for Ski-, but I've changed them a lot for these tips.

Have fun on the Scratch Wiki, and good luck editing!

Welcome to the Scratch Wiki Mrrecordman!
Welcome to the Scratch wiki, Mrrecordman!
Congratulations on getting your account accepted. I'm Adzboy, a Wikian who is here to help. I am also an active community helper on the main website and forums, you may have seen me around before. You can read more about me on my userpage. Now that you are an editor you can make improvements to pages that need them and enjoy the amazing Wiki community. Before you start editing, take a look at the help pages and cheatsheet to learn all you need to know about editing this Wiki. Take some time to create your own userpage which little bit like your about me on Scratch but much larger with lots more options to help make it your own (You can make yours here). If you have any further questions about the Scratch Wiki then feel free to ask them on my talk page or the Community Portal.

Please remember to sign your posts
Hello, I'm WikiMonitor, a bot that patrols the Recent Changes. This is just a friendly reminder that it appears you forgot to sign your post in
revision 301828 of
User talk:Bigpuppy. Please fix this by adding four tildes (
~~~~
) at the end of your post to insert your signature and remember to sign your posts in the future. Signing your posts is important as it allows other Wikians to see who made a post. Thanks!
If you have any questions about this, please check out the FAQs.
Note: if you were making an edit to a talk page that wasn't actually a message, in the future you can mark it as minor to avoid a notification.
A few tips and reminders for the wiki
I read your talk page and looked at some of your contributions. First of all, please read the Help Pages. Reading all of the advanced stuff is not needed, but it can be helpful. The Wiki Administration section is not useful to you because it is for admins. Here is a few things I have noticed:
You tell people to not edit your userpage. That is not necessary. It is not allowed to edit peoples userpages unless they say you can. Read this for more info.
You don't use subheadings. You use 2 equals signs to make a heading, but you can make subsections by using 3,4,or 5. That would help cleanup your userpage.
You seem to have trouble with talk pages. Remember, On multiline posts, use the indents on every line and put the four ~s on the same line on the post. See below:
Correct:
:First Line
:Second line~~~~
Wrong:
:First Line
Second line
~~~~
(use 1 : for the first reply, 2 for the 2nd reply and so on. Use none for the first message). For more info, read this and this.
I also noticed you made a new page, please read the New Page Policies. A list of templates is not needed. It can be found here
I look forward to you learning to do helpful edits!
