Congratulations on becoming a member of the Scratch Wiki! I'm KangaCoder, an Experienced Wikian. If you have any questions regarding the Wiki or want to just chat, feel free to leave a message on my talk page! Cool tips on how to edit
  1. To edit, click the pencil icon at the top of the page next to your username. Then, click edit. If you don't see the button it may be because the page is protected for certain users.
  2. After you are in the editor, check out the cheatsheet for editing tips.
  3. You can also check out the help pages for more detailed information on editing.
  4. You can test editing features out in the community sandbox (it will get cleared every few hours), or you can make your own sandbox here.
  5. Before making a page, make sure it does not already exist. You can do this by using the search bar located at the top of the page.
  6. If the page you wanted to make is already created, you can create a redirect page! For more info on redirect pages, see this.
  7. To make a page, go here, or type the page name you want in the search bar and then press the link that says "create this page by editing this!"
  8. For information on magic words, check out the MediaWiki Documentatation.


Cool tips for finding pages to edit
  1. Use random page
  2. Check out articles to expand
  3. Check out article stubs
  4. Look at edits on recent changes and see what you can do to improve it even more.


Cool tips for posting on talk pages
  1. To post on someone's talk page, simply press the pencil icon and then press "New Topic". Type in the subject and message.
  2. Then, make sure you sign your post with 4 tidles (~~~~)
  3. When replying to a talk page post, edit the section that has the message and then indent your post with a colon (:). If someone already replied, use one more colon then they used. (See example conversation below)

The Scratch Wiki is a thriving community with 1,497 articles, 4,174 files, 350,027 edits, and 3,898 awesome users who have helped make the wiki great! It has existed since 6th December 2008 (about 17 years ago!) and has expanded a lot since then, with about 76 users joining per month. Have fun editing! Here's a list of tips to help you edit the wiki:

Cool tips on how to edit

Cool tips for using templates
  1. A list of templates can be found here
  2. To use a template, put it in curly brackets ({{}})
  3. To create a template for yourself, make a subpage of your userpage, like 'User:USERNAME/PAGENAME'.
  4. To use a template you have created, put the name in curly brackets, like {{User:USERNAME/PAGENAME}}
  5. To have a template's code come on a page when you save it, put 'SUBST:' before the template name, like {{SUBST:User:USERNAME/PAGENAME}}

Welcome to the wiki Medians, your now one of the 3,898 Scratch Wiki users.
Now that you have got a Scratch Wiki account you can edit and move pages that have not been protected from moving or editing however you will be able to edit more pages once you become a wikian.

Weird page move

You moved Repeat () (block) to Move to repeat () (which I've reverted), and I'm guessing this wasn't intentional... what were you trying to do?

I was trying to do what you were doing LOL, but I meant to move repeat () xDDDD
Also basically I was trying to have the admins move "Insert Here (block)" onto "Insert Here" since I think it only allows admins to do that, then later remove "(block)" from any links to the page (since I doubted that people would add the "(block)" part when searching for the article), and then delete the redirects or state that it had been moved (though I was worried it might break links, and I was worried people wouldn't read what the deletion reason was)

@Medians I wasn't sure if admins could rename articles to ones that already exist, so I looked it up on Wikipedia, and apparently admins "can delete a page and move another page to the deleted name". Based on this, it would probably be more helpful to put the {{delete}} template on the page without the "block" so that an admin can delete it, and then move the version with "block" onto it in one step.

Can you check if they can move page A to another page B that redirects to page A (I swear I have been able to do that on other wikis)
