Welcome!
Hey there! Welcome to the English Scratch Wiki, Leahcimto. Congratulations on joining us! I'm bigpuppy. If you have any questions or would just like to chat, feel free to leave a comment on my talk page.
By the way, I've compiled a list of tips for New Wikians. To see them, click "Expand" on the right side of the box below.
New Wikian Tips
|
---|
- Check out the help pages if you haven't yet. They explain a lot of stuff on the wiki.
- Use the sandbox to test out formatting and other stuff. The public sandbox gets cleared automatically every few hours by a bot. If you'd like your own sandbox that won't get cleared automatically, you can create one by going here.
- You reply to others by clicking the pencil icon in the top-right of the page, then clicking "edit." After that find the person you'd like to reply to, add the right number of :'s - the first person doesn't add any, the second person adds one, third adds two, fourth adds three, and so on. Then you type what you'd like to say and sign it with ~~~~. You click save page and there you go! Here is an example conversation for you that is fake:
- Hi everyone! There's a mistake in the "Scratch" section.
Example User 1 (talk | contribs)
- Oh...Yeah. One of the images needs to be changed.
Example User 2 (talk | contribs)
- I'll do it now!
Example User 3 (talk | contribs)
- Great!
Example User 1 (talk | contribs)
- Awesome!
Example User 2 (talk | contribs)
- Oh, there's also a spelling mistake in that same section. I'm fixing it now...
Example User 1 (talk | contribs)
- ┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘ I'm done changing the image!
Example User 3 (talk | contribs)
- Great!
Example User 2 (talk | contribs)
- And here is the code for that example conversation:
- Hi everyone! There's a mistake in the "Scratch" section.<scratchsig>Example User 1</scratchsig>
- :Oh...Yeah. One of the images needs to be changed.<scratchsig>Example User 2</scratchsig>
- ::{{doing|I'll do it now!}}<scratchsig>Example User 3</scratchsig>
- :::{{cool|Great}}<scratchsig>Example User 1</scratchsig>
- ::::{{cool|Awesome}}<scratchsig>Example User 2</scratchsig>
- :::::Oh, there's also a spelling mistake in that same section. {{doing|I'm fixing it now...}}<scratchsig>Example User 1</scratchsig>
- {{outdent|:::::}}{{done|I'm done changing the image!}}
<scratchsig>Example User 3</scratchsig>
- :{{cool|Great}} {{e|:D}}<scratchsig>Example User 2</scratchsig>
- If you have any big questions about the wiki or suggestions (or something else relating to the wiki that you want a lot of people to see), you can post in the Community Portal. This is the official main talk page for our wiki. You can also reply to posts there.
- If you're looking for pages to edit, I recommend random page. You can find it on the navigation bar (to the left) of the wiki. You can also look in the category "Pages to Improve"; it has multiple sub-categories with pages that need to be changed.
- The box below where it says "summary" when you make an edit is for your edit summary. Put a short description of your edit here.
- Please check "This is a minor edit" if your edit is minor when making an edit — this means things like just changing capitalization, removing a space, or another small edit like that.
- If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! There's a list of Experienced Wikians (people that have been elected by the community to help lead it) here. There's a list of active users here. Of course, you can also ask me on my talk page or ask on the Community Portal.
- Good luck, and have fun editing here!
These tips were written by Bigpuppy and transcluded from this page. The original version was written for Dressygirl, but now they are quite different. Thanks to jvvg and Kenny2scratch for helping me touch it up. I originally wrote the indenting instructions for Ski-, but I've changed them a lot for these tips.

Have fun on the Scratch Wiki, and good luck editing!

Welcome!
Welcome to the Scratch Wiki!
Hey there! Welcome to the Scratch Wiki, Leahcimto! We are glad that you've decided to join us here! I'm Daring_Sailor, and I'm here to answer any questions or queries you might have about the Wiki. You can message me on my Talk Page if you need help with anything on the Wiki, have a question you want to ask, or just to chat!
If you want to find pages to edit, then you could look at Articles to expand or Article stubs to find pages that you can improve. Alternatively, you could have a look at Innacurate articles to find places to add references. I also get my own inspiration from Special:Random.
Have great time on the Wiki! Hope to see you around making some great edits! Bye for now, Leahcimto!

Hi! Welcome to the English Scratch Wiki, Leahcimto! Congratulations on joining us! I'm Garnetluvcookie. If you have any questions or would just like to chat, feel free to leave a comment on my talk page.
I've created a list of tips for new Wikians, so feel free to take a look!
New Wikian Tips and Tricks
|
---|
- If you're bored and want to edit a page, but don't want to keep searching, use the Random Page button at the left of the page. What I do is I look for spelling errors and misinformation and edit it!
- Do you need help with something but you can't find any active users? Try leaving a message at the Community Portal.
- Some users will ask you on the CP (community portal) to indent your posts. This is for readability. Here's an example to show you;
Sample Conversation
|
---|
Without indentation:
There's a page that needs extra photos. Can someone help me with it? Example1 (talk | contribs)
Sure! Doing... Example2 (talk | contribs)
Thank you, Example2! Example1 (talk | contribs)
Done! Example2 (talk | contribs)
I think I can add some more pictures to that, but I don't know if they'd fit. Example3 (talk | contribs)
Let me see... Those look good. Example1 (talk | contribs)
I'll add them! Example3 (talk | contribs)
Thank you, Example2 and Example3! Example1 (talk | contribs)
Not very readable. Now with indents:
There's a page that needs extra photos. Can someone help me with it? Example1 (talk | contribs)
- Sure! Doing...
Example2 (talk | contribs)
- Thank you, Example2!
Example1 (talk | contribs)
- Done!
Example2 (talk | contribs)
┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘I think I can add some more pictures to that, but I don't know if they'd fit. Example3 (talk | contribs)
- Let me see... Those look good.
Example1 (talk | contribs)
- I'll add them!
Example3 (talk | contribs)
┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘Thank you, Example2 and Example3! Example1 (talk | contribs)
Code
|
---|
If you were wondering, here's the code:
There's a page that needs extra photos. Can someone help me with it? <scratchsig>Example1</scratchsig>
:Sure! {{doing}} <scratchsig>Example2</scratchsig>
::Thank you, Example2! <scratchsig>Example1</scratchsig>
:::{{done}}! <scratchsig>Example2</scratchsig>
{{outdent}}I think I can add some more pictures to that, but I don't know if they'd fit. <scratchsig>Example3</scratchsig>
:Let me see... Those look good.<scratchsig>Example1</scratchsig>
::I'll add them! <scratchsig>Example3</scratchsig>
{{outdent}}Thank you, Example2 and Example3!<scratchsig>Example1</scratchsig>

- On user talk pages, you need to sign your posts with four tildes. This will show your username and a timestamp like
garnetluvcookie (talk | contribs) 14:39, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- You might notice you can't edit most pages with "S:" in front of them. All of these pages are official Scratch Wiki pages, so the Experienced Wikians and higher ranks protected those pages so only Wikians and higher can edit them.
- You may get bot messages from WikiMonitor or another bot because you unknowingly violated the Wiki guidelines or Userspace rules. You can turn off these messages using the {{NoBots}} template, but this is highly discouraged.
