Your Sandbox
In your sandbox, why do you have 1 2 3 4 5 6 ?

I think there needs to be more strict bot accounts
I think the problem is that a lot of people want to make bots but what they are proposing has already been done. for example, my bot checks spelling already and there is a spelling bot request. Maybe there should be a regulation towards bots that have similar uses to others? In this current moment, I think there should be like a test to see which bot (mine or spelling bot) is better at finding spelling errors :)

jvvg (talk | contribs) 17:14, 18 May 2014 (UTC)- Canada is cold ;) yeah I think we should maybe deny bot accounts immediately if they are duplicates :)

Linking to other users and directories in wiki pages
Hi, would linking to other users [ON SCRATCH IN GENERAL] be internal or external?
Also, I'm wondering how you do an internal link to directories of contents in wiki pages. (I was editing a wiki page and I knew EXACTLY where to put the links, but those two types were types that I didn't know how to do, but I still saved the page)
Goldfish678 (talk | contribs) 20:11, 18 May 2014 (UTC)
- Linking to a Scratch profile is an external link. Do so like this: [http://scratch.mit.edu/users/jvvg link text]. To link to a subpage from the parent page, use <nowiki>[[/Subpage]], and from anywhere else use [[Parent page/Subpage]]. See Help:Links for details.

Creating an Article
What type of articles need to be written? How do you know when an article needs to be written?
-unsigned comment by Angelblade (talk | contribs)
- Well, in the most general terms, an article that is relevant to a large group of people and describes something that doesn't violate S:NOSP. Some examples include tutorials, articles describing parts of the website and editor, etc.

Page with Starters ≠ Useless Page
OK, I think you are overreacting with my page. If you are going to keep deleting my page, I should tell you that I was going to make it with an "In progress" template. I have all of my reasons to keep that page. ErnieParke even said she thought the topic was a good idea. Now, stop deleting the page, and we'll all be fine. Just want a page to create later, -SuperSmashScratch-
SuperSmashScratch (talk | contribs) 15:54, 25 May 2014 (UTC)
- The page was deleted by three different users for the same reason. While you may not agree with our decision, you need to respect it. The Wiki is defined by community consensus, and we have decided that a page needs to have actual content on it, or it needs to have the {{In Progress}} template on it to indicate that the user who made the page is going to add content. If you end up doing that, you actually need to add content yourself. As we have stated several times before, creating a page and asking other people to contribute content is not acceptable. Also, I don't recall a single one of us saying that the topic is a bad idea. We just said that the page needs to have content on it when it's created. Finally, I just want to reiterate one more time that when admins make a decision that involves deleting a page or reverting an edit, don't just immediately revert it. Discuss it before reverting.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 15:59, 25 May 2014 (UTC)- Sorry to be rude, but you clearly misunderstood what I was saying with that post.
SuperSmashScratch (talk | contribs) 16:03, 25 May 2014 (UTC)- Did I? You told me to stop deleting the page, and I explained my rationale for doing so. I also explained the proper usage of the {{In Progress}} template, which you said you were going to use.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 16:06, 25 May 2014 (UTC)- Sorry, but I was doing it and trying to think positive, and you just started using bold letters and all that stuff.

- By the way, I'm not sure if you're interested or not, but you could try creating your RPG tutorial in your username subdomain first. Somewhere like User:SuperSmashScratch/RPG Tutorial would be nice. Then, when you feel you have it about finished, you can move it to its own official page.

Your Bot Is Too Fast?
I accidently didn't sign my post, but before 90 seconds was up, I changed it back. However, I got a message from the bot even though I put it back on. Is your bot just too fast? It is supposed to notify you after 90 seconds.
SuperSmashScratch (talk | contribs) 20:44, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
- Due to the way the code structure, it gives users up to 90 seconds. Under the old architecture, there wasn't any way to fix that, and when I did make the changes to make it check at all, I didn't include the wait script. I will add that now.

Why am I on the No Bots override?
Did I do something wrong? I don't think I did. Besides, I don't even think that it's even fair to not let people have control over what bots write on their talk page.
Krett12 (talk | contribs) 04:33, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
- The reason that most people add the {{NoBots}} template to their talk page is that they repeatedly break the rules WM is enforcing, and they don't want to be held responsible for breaking those rules. That is why I created the override. Given the purpose of the bot, the only really acceptable purpose of using that template is if WM is giving you incorrect notifications. Simply not wanting to be held responsible for breaking the Wiki guidelines is not an acceptable reason.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 14:00, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
Don't send category reminders for redirects
WM should check if a new page is a redirect, and if it is, not send a non-categorized warning.

SuperSmashScratch (talk | contribs) 03:30, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

Can I edit a WM post?
I was getting an error in my browser and I was trying to upload a new version of The Explore Interface but I made too many edits in a short amount of time so WikiMonitor commented on my user talk page which I guess is a good thing but I want to make the image not like this, so can I have permission to make the image not like this and make it smaller?
Jandrewg (talk | contribs) 16:26, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- For the repeated edits message, you can generally delete it after an hour and you'll be fine. Unlike the others, WM only checks for repeated edits within the last hour, so if I restart it, there won't be any problems.

I was thinking that since Scratch Wiki:Sandbox is commonly used for testing Wiki functions, maybe it should be put onto the unconditional ignore list? For example, User talk:Honeyr2 got a warning for making multiple edits to the Wiki Sandbox.

Good idea for WikiMonitor.
If someone makes an edit to an article just to fix like a grammar mistake, therefore changing a few bytes, and they do not mark the edit as minor, WikiMonitor should detect that and inform them to mark very small edits as minor. Maybe it should do that for edits under 10 bytes or so?

2 Things About the Categorization Bot Message
1. Maybe make the bot message this:
Hi there! I noticed when you created the page <page>
, you did not place a category. Pages are categorized to group them with articles of similar content. To categorize an article, place:
[[Category:name]]
At the bottom of the page. "name" represents the actual category's name. A list can be found here. It may also be helpful to read Help:Categories. Thanks!
This message was sent by an automated bot run by jvvg. You can contact him on his talk page with any concerns.
2. I got nothing else but couldn't change the title.
Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 19:15, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- As a matter of fact the blue box actually looks pretty nice. You could even keep that to make it less intimidating to new users. Blue is the color of safety.

New Bot Use
You know how several times in the past, the Featured Article/Images hadn't been updated for a few months? Maybe it would be a good idea if they aren't changed in two months, an automatic reminder could be generated in the Community Portal? What do you think? Or maybe they're fine as they are?
ErnieParke (talk | contribs) 00:46, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
- Well, if the CP discussion ends up resulting in me being an admin, I can tell you that the featured article and image will change routinely. I would probably host a vote every two weeks or month or so.

Krett12 (talk | contribs) 16:02, 13 June 2014 (UTC)- I have no problem with editing talk pages (that's how users communicate, after all). However, there were a few problems with what you did: 1. the discussion was better on the CP, 2. you created a subpage of a user talk page without permission (and it wasn't a talk page of an existing subpage), and 3. you generally shouldn't leave a message on the WM user talk page unless it's about a specific subpage (like one of the config pages).

Thanks for posting the guide for me! Quite a bit of it was review, but I'm glad that I now know I haven't skipped any part of the process. :)
Anyway, I have one question. You know how when you partially reject an account, you're supposed to reject it on the Wiki, but ask clarifying questions on the users' account? What if you want to accept them afterwards? Is there an accept button on the reject page?
