add pamimus?

Hi jvvg. I posted this in the discussion for Scratch Team here. Basically, ceebee confirmed that pamimus was an ST member. Should we add them to the list then?
Wangat (talk | contribs) 15:44, 14 June 2021 (UTC)

it is written that pamimus is as per her profile page

Thank for the information, but this issue has already been resolved (they are now listed in the Scratch Team article). At the time, it did not say Scratch Team on their profile. Please don't comment on old discussions unless they are still relevant.

User:Mathfreak231/Old

Hello, Jacob! I noticed that User:Mathfreak231/Old, may not meet the Scratch Wiki:Guidelines or the Community Guidelines. Please review User:Mathfreak231/Old.
CodeLearnerSai (talk | contribs) 23:10, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

That page is a userpage so it isn't subject to the regular Wiki guidelines about notability or writing quality or similar. I don't see anything on the page at first glance that obviously violates any of the relevant portions of the Wiki guidelines (for userpages, that mainly means following the Community Guidelines), so please let me know what specifically. If it's something that's inappropriate or you otherwise don't want to mention publicly, you can report the most recent revision and it will be handled privately, similar to reporting content on the Scratch website.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 01:41, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
If you promote me to an Administrator, I can replace the content that violates the Community Guidelines with asterisks (*), like the censor on the Discussion Forums.
CodeLearnerSai (talk | contribs) 03:15, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
We have a specific process for determining Experienced Wikians, administrators, etc. and will not promote someone just for a one-time thing like this. If you believe any part is inappropriate or otherwise violates the Scratch Community Guidelines, please submit a report. Reports are private and will only be seen by Wiki administration so you don't have to worry about anything being made public with a report.

Hello

Hello! I was contacted by one of your bots, and it said that I had made too many edits to one particular page [[1]] but this was because I was practicing and the page had advised me to do so and I had never heard of this rule. Should I be worried?
ILikeProggraming123 (talk | contribs) 13:02, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

There's nothing to be worried about, it's just a friendly reminder (it's not like an alert). When you make a lot of edits to any page, it clogs up the recent changes, and a lot of us do monitor that to see what's going on. If possible, please use "Show Preview" if you need to test something out to avoid this problem.

Can I create special pages if I'm not an Admin?

Hey, I want to know if regular Wikians (not Admins) can make special pages. Thanks!
PizzaPizza72 (talk | contribs) 20:00, 24 June 2021 (UTC)

Special pages aren't like regular content pages, you can't actually edit them through the Wiki editor. A special page operates some custom code built behind the scenes, and many are built into MediaWiki, though some are added through custom extensions purpose-built for the Scratch Wiki by our engineering team (example: Special:RequestAccount - from the Scratch Account Request System extension) or were provided by others (example: Special:CategoryTree from the CategoryTree extension). To add a new one, you need to build an extension that provides the appropriate functionality and then someone with server access needs to install it.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 20:12, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
But what if I'm not signed into a Chrome/Firefox account?
PizzaPizza72 (talk | contribs) 14:44, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
Having a Chrome/Firefox account has nothing to do with it. These aren't browser extensions, these are MediaWiki extensions (and thus also are not subject to the Extension Policy).

Why did a bot tell me to not make edits in short time, even though I edited in the Sandbox?

So... I want to tell you that a bot told me to not make edits in a short amount of time, but it was the sandbox. Why? It was the sandbox, and that is for practicing editing skills. Please don't ignore this!
PizzaPizza72 (talk | contribs) 15:09, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

Sandbox edits still show up in recent changes, and you should use "show preview" as much as possible to avoid bloating recent changes and page edit histories, even if it's a sandbox.

Protect this image again before a new one is uploaded

Hi, you seemed to protect the image (link https://en.scratch-wiki.info/wiki/File:Log-in_on_scratch.png) before a new one was uploaded, but you seemed to unprotect it. Please protect it again!
PizzaPizza72 (talk | contribs) 16:13, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

The protection was because of edit warring. However, the edit warring conflict had been resolved. The most recent upload was an automated compression of the image you uploaded. You are expected to compress images before you upload using a tool such as TinyPNG to improve performance and save space. If you do not compress images, then they will be automatically compressed by TemplatesFTW (and in fact, if you look at the recent notifications on my talk page I have gotten a few of those myself) accompanied by a reminder that you should compress them yourself.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 16:55, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
But I don't want Kenny2scratch to change it again! And, haha, even admins miss compressions!

Idea

Maybe a page could be made listing all of the series on Scratch.
BookTV (talk | contribs) 20:41, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

If you mean series like projects in a series, that would violate our policy against articles about Scratchers and policies and also would be an insanely long article with thousands of entries.

Your Bot is thinking I didn't put a signature but I did on Talk:How to Make a Three-Dimensional Project

when you read this::events hat
if <(username)=[Jvvg]> then
say [Basically, I wrote <scratchsig>PenguinLover1123</scratchsig> instead of ~~~~ (which show the same thing but <scratchsig>PenguinLover1123</scratchsig> doesn't have the timestamp) on Talk:How to Make a Three-Dimensional Project.] for (5) seconds
say [I am using scratchblocks because in scratchblocks normal (like <big></big>) formatting can't happen.] for (2) seconds
ask [Please, can you fix your bot, WikiMonitor?] and wait
end

PenguinLover1123 (talk | contribs)

This is not a bug in WikiMonitor. You need to include a timestamp in your signature so people know when you made a post, not just who made it. The four tildes (~~~~) both include the scratchsig as well as the timestamp.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 16:12, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
Why do you need to put a timestamp?
PenguinLover1123 (talk | contribs)
It helps with archiving and other maintenance. Plus, Jvvg also said that people need to know when a post was made. Also, please indent when using talk pages.

It works if you remove the www. I should really fix that on the server (I don't really maintain the site anymore since I now have an actual job and thus most of my coding is for that), but in the meantime I'll update my header.

April Fools page for S:CPSYS?

I know S:NOAF says no talk pages other than the Community Portal, there is also a page for S:CPND, which makes me wonder if a page for S:CPSYS would be allowed?

Hi there!
I'm not jvvg, but please do not do that.
  • The former is not allowed because it would be a violation of S:NOSP--creating pages about users in mainspace.
  • The latter is not allowed as it would violate userspace rules.
However, thank you for your contributions to the wiki. :)

My Sandbox

Hello Jvvg. I saw you moved my Sandbox without sending a message to me that you moved it. So i searched it and made a post in the Community Portal. Please send to the owners of the Sandboxes that you move a message that you moved their sandbox.
Jonas_Programer (talk | contribs) 12:02, 17 August 2021 (UTC)

Hello, and thank you for reaching out to me. The issue was you created your sandbox in the mainspace (i.e. where regular articles go). Any user-specific content, such as your userpage, your sandbox, etc. needs to go into userspace (i.e. it needs to be at User:Jonas_Programer or a subpage of that page, and not at Jonas_Programer). I normally comment on talk pages to let users know, but for whatever reason I neglected to do so that time, and for that I apologize. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

 Unresolved (see all...)

Ive been trying out in my sandbox while wikiMonitor comments on my talk and says "please dont make so much edits in a short amount of time" telling me about making lots of edits on my sandbox. It also says it is ran by you. Can you please disable it for sandboxes?
-unsigned comment by Username 6666666 (talk | contribs)

I'm not Jvvg, but I'm gonna basically rephrase what he's said previously. No, because sandbox edits still clog up the Recent Changes page, which annoys some users. Please use the preview button instead.
Dhuls's Wiki Icon.png Dhuls (Talk|927 Contributions|Scratch) 23:37, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
No. To quote the FAQs linked in WikiMonitor warnings, "[editing sandboxes] still clogs up Recent Changes and the page history."
jvvg (talk | contribs) 00:53, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
BUt why?
PenguinLover1123 (talk | contribs) 17:10, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
Experienced Wikians, Administrators, and Bureaucrats have to patrol edits, and when someone makes a lot of edits, it gets tedious.

WikiMonitor Suggestion

You know how WikiMonitor updates the Featured Studios section of the Featured Studio article? Couldn't it do the same thing but for Featured Projects? Maybe it could only do the first 5 featured projects?
Dhuls's Wiki Icon.png Dhuls (Talk|927 Contributions|Scratch) 14:51, 18 September 2021 (UTC)

Short answer: yes I could. However, we don't currently have a list of featured projects and I believe featured studios were updated less frequently when we added that page, so that page is mainly there just because it was before.

WikiMonitor was not broken and as the message it left you indicated, you made a lot of edits to a page in quick succession. It did not specifically say you did not use "show preview," it merely recommended that you use it to avoid doing making a lot of edits to one page in the future. See the FAQs for more information about this.

Adding a link to WikiMonitor’s FAQ page here

I think you could link to WikiMonitor's FAQ page on this talk page (before the actual messages). A few users have commented here recently that they think WM is 'broken' or 'needs fixing', so linking to that page might clear up a few confusions about WikiMonitor.

How is your username lowercase on the Wiki?

Title ^^
Mrcreatorluigi (talk | contribs) 04:40, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

It is actually uppercase because of how pages (and usernames) are stored on the Wiki, but it looks lowercase on this page because of a template, Template:Lowercase title, which is put at the top of the page.
Jammum Icon.png Jammum (💬 Talk - ✍️ Contribs) 07:13, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

In cases of serious violations of rules, such as violations of the Community Guidelines, you will likely be notified on your talk page if you break those rules. A question on double account.

I have 2 accounts one of hindi scratch wiki and english wiki with same password so how can i login to both ?
Purvitekriwal (talk | contribs) 05:13, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

If you mean you have two accounts on the English Wiki, that is not allowed. If you mean you have one account each on the English and Hindi Wikis, it is not possible to log into both simultaneously, you have to log in separately to each one on the respective Wiki.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 14:49, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
@Purvitekriwal: I think it is highly recommended to have separate passwords on different accounts (in your case, your Hindi/Test Wiki account and your English Wiki account) in the very rare case that one of them is 'hacked' so the other account is still secure.

Do you have any tips for me so I can edit the mainspace more?

Title. On the mainspace, I usually just look for typos because I don't know the code for more technical things. This can be hard though, because it involves just using Random Page over and over again, which can sometimes be unproductive and is very time consuming. I am wondering if you have any tips for me? Also just wanted to say hi.
Filmlover12 Icon 2.png Filmlover12 Talk Contribs Scratch 20:15, 16 January 2022 (UTC)

Hello! If you're looking for articles to improve, see Category:Pages to Improve, it has several subcategories of ways a page might need improvement. While some need technical documentation, plenty of others have other ways that they could be improved, whether it be providing more non-technical information, organizing better, spelling/grammar fixes, etc.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 20:22, 16 January 2022 (UTC)

how to create page related to userspace

i just signed up for discussion invitation and would like to keep it separate and also add a few other pages of my userspace so how to do it? i have seen many people having it like that. also can i still respond discussion if i see any and i am not invited
Purvitekriwal (talk | contribs) 03:40, 17 January 2022 (UTC)

If you want a separate talk page for DIS (or anything else), just create User talk:Purvitekriwal/DIS (replace DIS with anything else you want). You can also create subpages of your userpage by creating User:Purvitekriwal/Name of subpage (again, replace "name of subpage" with whatever you want). Do be aware you won't get the header notification if subpages of your user talk page are edited, though you can put them on your watchlist and be emailed in that case. You are welcome to respond to any discussion, whether or not you were invited. DIS is just a way to get peoples' attention about discussions.

Wikimonitor

Hey Jvvg, just a quick one for you.

In regards to your bot, I have had the concern that the page should be protected so that only Bureaucrats and Administrators should be able to edit the disable page for the bot.

This has only come to mind after seeing a revision to the page that can be found here

Regards,
JJBullet-Pfp.jpg JJBullet ( utc ) 21:37, 8 February 2022 (UTC)

I'm not jvvg, but the disable page for WikiMonitor is for regular users who receive multiple false notifications from the bot to be used to disable it. If only sysops were to be able to edit the page, then false notifications from the botcould be sent to several users multiple times without anybody being able to stop or prevent them.
Kanga logo.png KangaCoder talkcontribsprofile 21:39, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
That's understandable Wangat, I agree with your input. I only just saw the warning on said page so that's on me.
JJBullet-Pfp.jpg JJBullet ( utc ) 21:41, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
I intentionally only protected it at Wikian level since something may go wrong when no admins are online and there may be imminent danger of harm. That being said, there is a (very glaring) warning on that page so users really have no excuse to claim ignorance if they try to abuse it.

Hi, Can you make wiki-monitor run of test and Demo wikis too? The People in test wiki can contribut in trnslating for bot but it will help us in translating and making a good home page..
Purvitekriwal (talk | contribs) 14:02, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for the suggestion, but there is not enough activity on the Test Wiki really to make maintaining WikiMonitor worth the time. Also, making matters more difficult, a single instance of WikiMonitor can only operate in one language, which for a multilingual Wiki such as the Test Wiki would be more trouble than it's worth. I believe that the Japanese Wiki operates their own instance of WikiMonitor, but that's not directly under my control.

We only keep track of the curators on this Wiki (it seems redundant to do it on two different Wikis, and regardless adds more maintenance work for me). As for not giving messages when you forget something, see my previous message (TLDR: too much work for a fairly low activity Wiki).

Problem with WikiMonitor

Recently, WikiMonitor warned me twice about excessive editing on pages. However, I got warned twice each time for the same edits. Do you know why this is happening?
CrazyBoy826 icon.png CrazyBoy826 | Talk | 8,242 edits | Scratch 00:16, 3 March 2022 (UTC)

I think it was because the edits were made not long before midnight UTC (notice that the second message was right after midnight UTC), so it didn't realize you have already been recently notified. This is a minor and infrequent enough bug that I probably am not going to put effort into fixing it unless it becomes more problematic.

OK.

Confused with WikiMonitor

Wikimonitor is getting crazy on my talk page. I know this is ridiculous (the message here itself) but the WikiMonitor says I need to categorize my page while I was editing my own page in AF. Can you help fix that? He's getting crazy.
Pizza0430 (talk | contribs) 11:38, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

Or is there a function to block his messages? I also got messed up with bots while uploading images and editing a page too much...

Pizza0430 (talk | contribs) 11:41, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi there, I’m not jvvg, but yes, there is a way to prevent bot messages (WikiMonitor is not a human, so “he” is not the accurate pronoun), using the {{NoBots}}. However, while patrolling, I’ve noticed that you’ve edited multiple pages constantly within a short time period, which is what WikiMonitor is trying to prevent you from doing. While you of course you may add the nobots template to your user page, I wouldn’t recommend it if you still continue to rapid edit.
Kanga logo.png KangaCoder talkcontribsprofile 22:45, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
I looked over the messages, and both of them seem to be correct. The first one was because you made a lot of edits quickly to a page, which should be avoided when possible. For the second, you need to add a category to April Fools' userpages, which you can do by adding {{AF}} to the top of the page (which you are supposed to do for all pages). Also you can add {{NoBots}} to the top of your talk page, but if I determine you are abusing that template to avoid accountability for your actions, I may instruct WikiMonitor to ignore it.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 03:19, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the info.

WikiMonitor

Hi, I got a WikiMonitor message saying that I haven't signed a post, but actually, I used my custom siggy to sign it. And also, it's showing that this is not a signature.
Vdiu (talk | contribs) 09:25, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

If you look at this diff, you will see that it's unsigned.
Dhuls's Wiki Icon.png Dhuls (Talk|927 Contributions|Scratch) 12:57, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
If you look at the diff that WikiMonitor linked in the message, you would see that the message was unsigned with either scratchsig or a custom signature. Please read the messages carefully.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 15:32, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
This happened to me again, but this time I have put my custom sig. [[2]], it shows that I have put a custom sig.
Vdiu (talk | contribs) 13:54, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
That edit changed a message by adding nowiki tags, so WikiMonitor thought it was a new message. You can mark your edits as minor to prevent this from happening.

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────I've put a custom sig, but I got another WikiMonitor Siigy alert. Is it because of timestamp or something?
Vdiu (talk | contribs) 11:42, 22 March 2022 (UTC)

The most recent edit was because you weren't actually making a message. In that case please mark your edits as minor.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 14:41, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
No, but it actually was a message.

Is Scratch Real Coding? Article Deletion in 9:44, 7 March 2022 and with reason: entire premise of the article is personal opinion recovery

Hello, Jvvg. The page Is Scratch real coding? is deleted by you. However, the information is seen as "should be kept". Along with other pages, the deletion is not really good. However, you're the bureaucrat, you have the reason to remove, modify and rollback pages and edits. Revision 299959 is an undo of revision 299910, which comes from "Surprise Button". The deletion reason must be posted down here. Although you are the bureaucrat, please say why here if you can. This is just for further understanding of your revisions. Other than these two, other undo actions are so important. Please contact Pizza0430 (me) if you've anything to say. I can't change anything here though. The page Is Scratch real coding? should be recovered. The recovery is important and will improve on the wiki.
Pizza0430 (talk | contribs)

And, in addition, some edits could be recovered, however, to prevent edit wars, rapid undoing is prohibited, I won't do that.
Pizza0430 (talk | contribs) 05:24, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
There is no well established definition of what constitutes "real programming" and it's a matter of opinion. Some people say that Python isn't real programming, while others do, once again because it's entirely a personal opinion. I'm sure there are some people out there who don't even think C is "real programming" and only assembly is "real programming." The article didn't document any useful information that isn't already present elsewhere on the Wiki and the question it answered was one where there isn't a real answer and is up to the opinion of the person thinking it.
I also reverted your revision of Surprise Button because it was not clear from how you wrote it how it would be applicable to SDS studios (though if you can provide additional information on how it is useful there, feel free to add it back) and also what would have changed about the SDS making it no longer useful. Also the line at the end was redundant since the list already was clear from the top that that was not an exhaustive list and only a list of the most common uses.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 15:39, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
The "Real coding" page is currently archived on a place. The document will still be viewable, but has moved from the wiki to somewhere else. However, the archived place will be appropriate.

You can post whatever you want off the Wiki, but on the Wiki everything needs to follow the Wiki Guidelines.

Differences in Revisions

Hello there. I’m here to discuss an apparent error I keep making in images. I don’t see any difference in the changes, even when I look at their history. It says it’s changing “Users’” to “Users’. I don’t understand, so if you could help me, that would be great.
Super_Scratch_Bros20 (talk | contribs) 02:27, 17 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi, the issue seems to be with the apostrophe you're using. Your keyboard/OS seems to type an apostrophe that's slightly at an angle, while my keyboard types one that's straight up and down. Here's a comparison: Yours: ’ Mine: '. I don't know exactly how to get it to type like mine, but you can copy-paste it.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 02:44, 17 March 2022 (UTC)

Wiki Username Question

Hello again! I have another question about the wiki that I'm curious about. My username appears to look like "Super Scratch Bros20" in certain places, such as userspace, my username that appears in the top right corner of the screen, and logging in by adding spaces instead of underscores. Why would that be the case?
Super_Scratch_Bros20 (talk | contribs) 01:58, 18 March 2022 (UTC)

I think that's because MediaWiki (the software this wiki runs on) treats underscores as spaces.
Dhuls's Wiki Icon.png Dhuls (Talk|927 Contributions|Scratch) 02:02, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
You can fix this on your userpage by adding {{DISPLAYTITLE:User:Super_Scratch_Bros20}}.

WikiMonitor question

Hi, the bot WikiMonitor told me to categorise a file that I had uploaded and had given a category but was deleted a while after. About a day after the file was deleted I got a message telling me to categorise it, do you know why? (Sorry if it's something really obvious that I just missed)
Adzboy (talk | contribs) 13:53, 19 March 2022 (UTC)

This probably is a bug because the abuse filter stops users from uploading files without a category.
CrazyBoy826 icon.png CrazyBoy826 | Talk | 8,242 edits | Scratch 16:18, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
Yes, this is a bug. Normally it checks the deletion log but it's possible that it may have missed it due to the diacritic in Pokémon.

Question about Custom Signatures

Hello again. I recently made a new custom signature, and I have a problem. My signature, unlike my old one, cannot just be placed after my message. I always have to put it on a new line and indent it, or it'll look something like this: UserIconSSB20.jpeg Super_Scratch_Bros20 (talk / contribs) 21:11, 22 March 2022 (UTC)

Do you know how to fix this?

UserIconSSB20.jpeg Super_Scratch_Bros20 (talk / contribs) 21:11, 22 March 2022 (UTC)

Add <br/> to the beginning of the signature.
Dhuls's Wiki Icon.png Dhuls (Talk|927 Contributions|Scratch) 21:52, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
Also make sure you transclude your signature from a subpage of your userpage and don't fully include the entire text on each page, otherwise it will clutter up the contents.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 22:32, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
Okay! Thank you both. I'll fix it in a moment.
UserIconSSB20.jpeg Super_Scratch_Bros20 (talk / contribs) 23:52, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
Did I do it correctly?
UserIconSSB20.jpeg Super_Scratch_Bros20 (talk / contribs) 00:16, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
I tried to not treat the signature as wikitext, but then the signature didn't work, and it appeared as the default signature.
UserIconSSB20.jpeg Super_Scratch_Bros20 (talk / contribs) 00:17, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── You have the newline part working, but you need to also put it as a subpage of your userpage (for example: User:Super_Scratch_Bros20/Sig) and transclude that as your signature to avoid cluttering up the text.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 02:44, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

I got that, and it can be found at User:Super_Scratch_Bros20/Signature. However, it only works if I select the option to treat the signature as wikitext. If I don't, it looks like this:
Super_Scratch_Bros20 (talk | contribs) 02:53, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
I believe you should make the signature be {{User:Super_Scratch_Bros20/Signature}} and enable the "treat as wikitext" option.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 03:40, 23 March 2022 (UTC)
Cool, it works! I don't know what went wrong the first few times. Thanks!
UserIconSSB20.jpeg Super_Scratch_Bros20 (talk / contribs) 03:44, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

You forgot a page

I was checking recent changes, and it turns out that you forgot to move Scratch Wiki:Newtown1956 and Scratch Wiki:Newtown1956/Sandbox to their correct namespaces. I tried to do it myself, but it turns out regular users can not move pages into someone else's userspace (which makes sense).

"Creating Cloud Chats: NOT ALLOWED" has an extremely narrow topic, so it does not need its own article. It can be included in other pages, such as Cloud Data.
CrazyBoy826 icon.png CrazyBoy826 | Talk | 8,242 edits | Scratch 23:33, 1 April 2022 (UTC)
The deletion message said "the fact that cloud chats aren't allowed isn't worthy of its own article, and the title is very informal." As crazyboy826 said above, that is too narrow a subject to have its own article and would instead best be part of another article. However, also, the title doesn't really fit the Wiki organizational structure, including being informal with the caps lock as well as being written as a quasi-sentence. If this did merit its own article it would be something like "Cloud Chat" or "Ban on Cloud Chats."
jvvg (talk | contribs) 01:39, 3 April 2022 (UTC)
A FAQ already exists in scratch's faq and is covered in the list of commonly suggested ideas. Maybe an FAQ with one of the titles jvvg suggested might work, but I doubt it's needed.

Weird Edit Issue

Hello, something very strange happened on @Coolmanisawesome24's user talk. I used my welcome message to welcome this new user. As soon as I made that message, the wiki said that there had been edits made on that user talk sometime while I was editing...but for some odd reason, it was just that my welcome message turned into a signature while I was editing, and so there were effectively two signatures as a message.

I fixed it back up, and there have been no issues since...but what happened?
SSB Icon New.png Super_Scratch_Bros20 (talk / contribs) 01:52, 2 May 2022 (UTC)

That's just an edit conflict. It happens when two people try to edit a page at once. If that happens you need to look at what the other changed vs. what you changed and fix it accordingly.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 14:02, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
I don't think I worded this correctly: It said I was the one who edited while I was editing. That doesn't make any sense to me, do you know what could've happened?
SSB Icon New.png Super_Scratch_Bros20 (talk / contribs) 14:43, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
In that case you may have made a simultaneous edit in another tab or something.

It generally looks good, my one main criticism is that it is really long (on my screen it takes the full height), so I would recommend trying to remove content you think is unnecessary or redundant. Also remember that a lot of users get at least two or three other welcome templates (in addition to the default one all users get from the person who accepted their account request), so you don't need to repeat the same information as all the other ones.
