Welcome, GratefulGamer9398233!
I'm A-MARIO-PLAYER and want to welcome you to the Scratch Wiki.

The Scratch Wiki is a wiki that provides information about Scratch, its website, history and phenomena surrounding it. It was released to the public on December 6, 2008 (18 years ago!) and currently has 1,519 pages and 4,031 users.

Before you start editing, read the Welcome tutorial and the wiki FAQ! Here are some useful tips for new Wikians:

New Wikian Tips

  • Check out the help pages if you haven't yet. They explain a lot of stuff on the wiki.
  • Use the sandbox to test out formatting and other stuff. The public sandbox gets cleared automatically every few hours by a bot. If you'd like your own sandbox that won't get cleared automatically, you can create one by going here.
  • You reply to others by clicking the pencil icon in the top-right of the page, then clicking "edit" or "edit source" (the difference being that "edit" doesn't require knowledge of wiki markup, while "edit source" does.) After that find the person you'd like to reply to, add the right number of :'s - the first person doesn't add any, the second person adds one, third adds two, fourth adds three, and so on. Then you type what you'd like to say and sign it with ~~~~. You click save page and there you go! Here is an example conversation for you that is fake:

  • If you have any questions about the wiki or suggestions (or something else relating to the wiki that you want a lot of people to see), you can post in the Community Portal. This is the official main talk page for our wiki. You can also reply to posts there. :)
  • If you're looking for pages to edit, I recommend the random page link. You can find it on the navigation bar (to the left) of the wiki. You can also look in the category "Pages to Improve"; it has multiple sub-categories with pages that need to be changed.
  • The box below where it says "summary" when you make an edit is for your edit summary. Put a short description of your edit here.
  • Please check "This is a minor edit" if your edit is minor when making an edit — this means things like just changing capitalization, removing a space, or another small edit like that. I have also recently saw some users who mark all edits as minor no matter how big they are - please don't do that. :)
  • If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! There's a list of Experienced Wikians (people that have been elected by the community to help lead it) here. There's a list of active users here. Of course, you can also ask me on my talk page or ask on the Community Portal.

Cool tips to edit an article:
  1. To edit a page you need to click the pencil given in the menu bar then click edit source button or edit button.
Creating an article:
  1. Click the create button given in the menu bar then click create an article or go directly to here
  2. Write the topic of the article that you are writing and click the button.
  3. Before making a page, make sure it does not already exist. You can do this by using the search bar located at the top of the page.
  4. If the page you wanted to make is already created, you can create a redirect page! For more info on redirect pages, see this.


Putting my signature on wiki pages:
  1. You can put your signature by writing this code ~~~~
OR

<scratchsig>username</scratchsig>


Posing comments on talk pages:
  1. To post a comment or reply you need to write the comment that you want to write for the user.
  2. Put your signature .
