Touching Color ()? (block)

Are you going to be doing a lot of major changes for that page?
Ziggy741 (talk | contribs) 16:57, 9 January 2017 (UTC)

Nope, I reckon I'm done there. :-) --
Despicable Dad (talk | contribs) 17:21, 9 January 2017 (UTC)

Okay thanks!

User picture

Your Wiki profile picture actually is your Scratch profile picture, but if you update your Scratch profile picture, it can take a while (sometimes as much as a week or two) for your Wiki picture to update.

Also, in your case, since there is an underscore in your username, you need to go to your preferences (click your username in the top right and select "Preferences" from the dropdown), look for your signature, and change it from "<scratchsig>Despicable Dad</scratchsig>" to "<scratchsig>Despicable_Dad</scratchsig>" (this replaces the space with an underscore).

Thanks for this, jvvg. I only started here a couple of days ago.
The signature field in my profile settings was empty when I looked just now. I entered sig as you described and saved settings.
Interestingly, if I just type that text here, the generated sig DOES show the pic...
Despicable_Dad (talk | contribs)
while the four tildes doesn't (see below.)
Presumably the delay you mentioned applies if you change sig at the wiki end of things too. (Main Scratch pic has been there forever.)
Incidentally, have I missed an information source in my searching, or is it all word of mouth?--

If you update your signature in your preferences with the one I put above, that will show when you put four tildes rather than the current one. There actually isn't any authoritative source for this information right now since it doesn't come up much.

Undo

I undoed your edit on List of Scratch Modifications because a lot of the mods didn't say what operating system also no offense.
Ziggy741 (talk | contribs) 18:34, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

No offence taken, but I do disagree with your reasoning. I think providing a frustration-free experience for wiki users is more important than how uniform a list/table looks.
When I first visited that page a few months ago, I was very frustrated at having to click on every... single... link... just to find out whether the mod was usable for me. OK, so that available information isn't complete, but I strongly feel that we should make life as easy as we can for wiki users.
In other words, I don't think not having all the info is an excuse for not giving any. With the table info, some (probably most) visitors to the page will be saved some time. Without it, all visitors will waste some time.
If I still haven't persuaded you, how about we just add a bit near the top, saying that mods compatible with latest version of Scratch are listed in Bold text? (The point being that there aren't any AFAIK.) At least it would save a lot of needless clicks for people.
(I still feel the info in the table is worth putting in front of people immediately though.)

Maybe there could be a key thing.
Ziggy741 (talk | contribs) 19:56, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
I'll give it a try.

Your user page

Are you going to add anything to your user page? I'd really like to know more about you (you seem to be very active on the forums) but I can't see anything about you as a Wiki contributor.
