Welcome, my dude!
Welcome to the wiki! I don't have a welcome template yet, but I still wanted to give you a welcome. Why not read others' messages? They have some useful stuff. Dilek10-Talk-Contribs-Profile Page 17:49, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
Welcome!
By the way, I've compiled a list of tips for New Wikians. To see them, click "Expand" on the right side of the box below.
New Wikian Tips |
---|
These tips were written by Bigpuppy and transcluded from this page. The original version was written for Dressygirl, but now they are quite different. Thanks to jvvg and Kenny2scratch for helping me touch it up. I originally wrote the indenting instructions for Ski-, but I've changed them a lot for these tips. |
Have fun on the Scratch Wiki, and good luck editing!

Done — Your custom signature
Hey hey, we all like simplicity, don't we? Anyway, I'd like to raise a few concerns (I'd also like to link you to S:CSIG):
- Your signature does not have a profile picture
- Your signature does not link to your userpage, talk page or contribs (all three must be present)
I understand that you're new to the wiki, and we all learn something every day, so please treat this as a friendly message as opposed to forcing you to change it under torture.

- Ah, yes. I was trying to change my signature from the default but it turned out they don't use the wiki markdown so I ended up not able to return to the original. Could you kindly tell me how I can style and remake my signature?

- If all you care about is having the default, put in the box <scratchsig>{{SUBST:REVISIONUSER}}</scratchsig> 17:27, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
- They use HTML
- You can google for help if you need

Done — Your signature
Please follow S:GOODSIG so that your custom signature doesn't take up unnecessary space in the source code. Thanks bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 15:30, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
- Oh dear, that's no good. I see, I shall update that as soon as possible. Thank you for notifying me.

- Is it possible for some assistance with this. I am still familiarising myself with wiki markup and this is the first time I've attempted a custom signature...
ContourLines [ Talk ~ Contributions ~ Directory ] 17:43, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, have you followed the instructions at S:GOODSIG? You need to create a second page, called User:ContourLines/minisig or something similar, and transclude your signature there, then add
{{User:ContourLines/minisig}}
to your preferences page.bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 15:39, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
- I have, well, I need to get round to updating it but I did create a page called User:ContourLines/Signature and used the method you stated in my preferences. I can check but I don't know why all the source code is being spilt into talk pages...

- You need to create a second page called User:ContourLines/minisig. The only content should be
{{User:ContourLines/Signature}}
. Then you add{{User:ContourLines/minisig}}
in your preferences.Does that make sense?
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 15:45, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, thank you, I also realised why that markup was there. I'd clicked the 'turn to wikitext' box, that is fixed now.
