When using {{dead link}}
When using {{dead link}} on a reference, put it outside the reference - templates and parser functions inside other parser hooks act weirdly, so it's best to keep the template outside the tag. It also shows more quickly that the reference is a dead link - no need to scroll down to discover that the reference is dead. Thanks!

A Question
Hi There! I have a question about the wiki. I tried to put a head line on my user page and it didn`t seem to work also how can you make different fonts? Thank you so much!
Coolcodekitty (talk | contribs) 16:07, 9 February 2018 (UTC)coolcodekitty
- Hi there, Coolcodekitty! Welcome to the wiki!
- You can put sections that will show up in the table of contents (if there is one) by doing "== SECTION NAME HERE ==" or "==SECTION NAME HERE==" while editing the page. Is that what you meant by a headline?
- You can make text in different fonts by using span style. For example, to make something that says "Example!" in the font Georgia, you could do this:
<span style="font-family:Georgia">Example!</span>
to make this: Example! However, keep in mind there are only certain fonts you can use. - If you need help with wiki code, you can ask someone or look at the code of people's userpages (just make sure you don't save the edit, as that's a violation of userspace), and test stuff out in the sandbox.
- If you need more help with formatting, feel free to check out this page.
- I hope this helped you! Good luck!

Hi! I'm new, as you pretty much know already. Um... I'm not sure where to start, any ideas?

Custom Signature?
Hi Bigpuppy! I saw your custom signature and decided to try to make one also. I used this WikiSite for the instructions. However, I can't figure out how to make the signature smaller. (steps 4 & 5). Do you have any advice? Thx!
20audreyw (talk | contribs) 23:06, 1 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi there! To make text smaller, you can use <small> and </small>. For example, "<small>hi there</small>" makes "hi there". "<small><small>hi there</small></small>" makes "hi there". This section on Help:Images might help you with making images smaller.
Just a question
Hey, hello! I just wanted to know something of the wiki formatting: How can I edit my talk page so that everyone can post a comment? How can I add something like a "menu" at the top of my wiki page? (Such as the ones of -Vuton-'s and yzyzyz's)
Botcho (Botcho_Otkho) - Talk - Contribs - Profile 17:47, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi! Welcome to the Scratch Wiki. Anyone can edit your talk page already. You can make a navigation bar by coding a subpage of yours with links to some of your pages, then transcluding the subpage by doing something like this: {{User:Bigpuppy/Navigation}} (User:Bigpuppy/Navigation is a link to the subpage holding my navigation bar.)
- Feel free to look at the code my navigation bar by going here and going to the "edit" page - just make sure you don't submit your edit. I'm guessing others are okay with you doing this too as long as you don't submit your edit.
- Thanks for editing the wiki!

Hello! I followed your tips, but now when I try to change those links to internal links, it says that I'm not allowed to edit other users' pages. What happened? Was that because I moved it? Thanks!
Botcho_Otkho (talk | contribs) 15:07, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, the reason you couldn't edit your navbar was because it actually was another user's page (though that user doesn't exist yet). I've moved your navbar to a subpage of your own user page now, so that it doesn't violate userspace. You should be able to edit it now.
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 15:22, 7 April 2018 (UTC)- I got that after you said that you moved my navbar. Thanks!

Edits.
I need help editing a page. I kind of muffed up while editing the scratch timeline, and now I need your help. Might you help me, please.

- Hi - what specifically do you need help with inside of editing? Assuming you're using the Scratch wiki skin, you can click the pencil icon, then "edit", to edit a page. Then edit, add an edit summary, and click "save changes". Thanks for asking!

User pages
Hello! I am new to scratch wiki, so I wanted to ask: how do you create a user page? When I click on the link with my username, it tells me the page doesn't exist, so do I just create it by editing that page, or am I meant to make it in a different way?

The Welcome Picture
How do you do one of those Welcome thingies? I want to make one of my own.
KJRYoshi07 (talk | contribs) 01:12, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
- Take a look at User:Bigpuppy/PW
kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 04:30, 28 April 2018 (UTC)- So, does the template start with User:Bigpuppy/PW?
KJRYoshi07 (talk | contribs) 06:23, 28 April 2018 (UTC)- You can make your own welcome template in a user subpage (maybe User:KJRYoshi07/Welcome) and use User:Bigpuppy/PW in it, then transclude that subpage for your welcome message.

How do you get the navigation box at the side of your userpage?

- Feel free to check out the code of it (go here, then edit the page (but don't click save!)). You can also probably look at the code of others' sidebars.

How do I make a template
Hi bigpuppy I was wonering about how you make a template like {{User:Bigpuppy/Welcome3}}
Funcoding4u (talk | contribs) 13:20, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi there! You can just make a subpage of your userpage (for example, User:Funcoding4u/Template), then use {{ }} to transclude it on pages (for example, "{{User:Funcoding4u/Template}}").
