Making a score saving/loading article.
Hello bigpuppy! I was scrolling through the wiki, and could not find an article on how to make a score saving/loading system in your project. I just wanted to make sure that there isn't already an article about that before I made mine!
Thanks!

Hi, bigpuppy. So, I suggested 2 images for Featured Images on the Community Portal for December. When I clicked the "edit" button, it re-directed me to one of your userpages. I submitted the edit before I realized. Was that supposed to be like that, or should I have used Pencil > Edit and put my suggestions after your link?

{{delete|date={{{subst:date}}|$Reason}}
, replacing "$Reason" with your reason.

RPG games
Hi please put my project Evanescent back into the list of examples under RPG games.
I don't know if you actually played any of the examples, but this single project actually includes all of the elements discussed in the wiki article (world, battle, statistics, items), unlike any of the other examples which have scattered/missing elements. This is for the scratch community, not for myself. I already have plenty of views.
-unsigned comment by RendHeaven (talk | contribs)
- I'd avoid adding your own projects to the "Examples" sections of articles yourself to avoid having a conflict of interest. This applies no matter the content and current popularity of the project. It's also worth noting that there is already a project by you in that "Examples" section, and in my opinion it is good to have a diverse set of voices in those types of sections. That said, if you still think it should be there, I recommend creating a new section on the talk page of that page and waiting for other editors to voice their opinion on whether the project should be there before adding it back. This helps avoid a conflict of interest.
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 07:29, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
Ok, will do... although again, I urge you to play EVANESCENT and see for yourself. I'd like you to see where I'm coming from. I stress again that every other example on that page lacks elements discussed in the article (which I've found silly for a long time). Why discuss in detail classically turn-based mechanics and overworld structures when half the examples don't even have an overworld, and the other half aren't classically turn-based? This isn't a fault of the examples, btw. This mismatch is the byproduct of the Scratch website simply lacking polished, complete, and functional (classically) turn-based RPGs with an overworld. I.e. this Scratch Wiki article rants at length about something that for the most part doesn't even exist on Scratch. My own project "Simple RPG 3" is not exempt. It doesn't even have a story or a world, nor half of the sub-categories that the wiki article painstakingly illuminates, and yet it's there as an example. Why should it get to be there while EVANESCENT (which actually is an example for nearly every point) is not? If it sits right with you, I'll gladly have you take Simple RPG 3 off the list to "make room" for EVANESCENT.
RendHeaven (talk | contribs) 02:05, 15 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for posting on the talk page. Again, my comments apply no matter the content of the project; in my opinion, it is generally a bad practice to add your own projects to an "Examples" section. That said, I am glad you have posted on the talk page so you can make your thoughts heard and the project can perhaps be added.

Question About Wiki Banning
Hello! Sorry for the long message, by the way, but I have something a bit detailed to ask.
I have a few questions about banning on the wiki. If a user is banned on the main site, but is inactive on the wiki, should they still be banned? It reminds me of how the Scratch Team usually bans alternate accounts of a user, even if the user doesn't use them as often.
I have a particular reason to ask this, because I know of an inactive user who had been banned on the main site but not the wiki. I'm not exactly sure if I should name and shame here on your talk page; if there's a better place to discuss banning a specific user, please tell me. But if we're supposed to users from the wiki who were banned on Scratch, I know of one.
I did my review on this myself before asking you this question. On the Scratch Wiki, the article on banning says "Bans on the Scratch Website do not apply on the Wiki." However, it could have several meanings. (And whenever you answer this question, I'll edit the page to clarify.) It could mean that being banned on Scratch does not mean you'll be banned on the wiki, even if you did something bad on Scratch. It could also mean whenever you get banned on the website, it does not automatically ban you on the wiki, but a bureaucrat will have to do it. I need clarification.
Thank you for your help, and again, sorry it was a long message.
Super_Scratch_Bros20 (talk | contribs) 04:24, 19 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, thanks for asking. The phrase you quoted on the page about banning means that even if you get banned on Scratch, you will not get banned on the wiki unless you cause disruption to the wiki. This means that users who are banned on Scratch can continue to edit the wiki. However, they are not allowed to mention that they are banned on Scratch or try to recruit users to support their unbanning so as to not cause unnecessary drama. I think Scratch Wiki:Blocking puts it pretty well:
“ | In general, users that are blocked on the main site are not blocked on the Wiki. However, users that carry drama about their ban over to the Wiki, try to continue their bannable behavior on the Wiki, use the Wiki as a receptacle for a tantrum, or otherwise attempt to involve the Wiki in the ban will be blocked. | ” |
- If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

“ | If you are blocked on the Scratch Website, you cannot request to be unblocked on the Wiki until you are unblocked on the Scratch Website. | ” |
- Out of curiosity sake, if the Scratch block had nothing to do with the Wiki block, why would this rule still apply?
Super_Scratch_Bros20 (talk | contribs) 04:12, 20 March 2022 (UTC)- I think that's outdated. Appeals used to be handled via profile comments, so users actually couldn't appeal if they were banned on the Scratch website. Now appeals are handled via email, so that shouldn't affect anything. That said, it's not like just the image is outdated, since that sentence is still on the actual block message...so I'll check with a bureaucrat about whether it's still a rule for some reason. Thanks for pointing that out!
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 14:33, 20 March 2022 (UTC)- Update: Apparently it still is a rule. If you're interested in why, feel free to ask Ken or jvvg...I think they would be better at explaining their reasoning than I would. Thank you for your patience!

Question about Discussion Invitations
Hello! I have a question. I know how discussion invitations work, and I'm even a participant in being invited, but is it okay to ask a user who is not on the discussion invitation list to participate in a discussion if a user would have their consent?
Super_Scratch_Bros20 (talk | contribs) 03:01, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, the list is just people who would like to explicitly say that they are okay with receiving discussion invitations. If you feel like someone would be interested in participating in a discussion, unless they say that they don't want you to, I think it would be fine to leave a message on their talk page informing them of the discussion. That said, I wouldn't use the template so that they don't get confused and think that their name has been added to the list.

Hi Bigpuppy! Whilst editing the page Scratch to the Future Camp, I changed the word 'you'(second person' to 'scratchers'. I saved that. Then, I thought that 'scratchers' should have been capitalized, so I quickly changed it so that it was a capital S. Now, I'm not sure which is correct. I probably should know by now but could you just confirm which it is? Thanks! If you've seen this a few days after I typed it, it's already resolved, I imagine. Zaid1442011 (talk | contribs) 07:09, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
- It doesn't always need to be directly related to the Scratch, it also might show general aspects of other programming languages & concepts. For example there are also Blockly, and tutorials about other programming languages.
- In addition to all those, GP is a Scratch-like programming language and mentioned in former Scratch conferences before. It's definitely worth being included.

- Your signature code is not supposed to be inside <nowiki> tags on this page, it looks like they were added by the person who used the wizard before you. Either way, that was what was causing the issue, now the checks are working as intended. (You still must add a profile picture to your signature.)

i think this should be updated
https://en.scratch-wiki.info/wiki/File:Studio_curators.png
hi, i am not 100% sure, but i think the new update changed the text "Studio Creator" to studio host. If this is true, I believe this file should be changed.

Hello,
The Image Caption "The "Tags" section on a project in Scratch 1.4." Is A Bit Misleading, Because It Implies It's A Part Of The Scratch 1.4 Software, Which It Isn't-- It's Part Of The Old Website Associated With It. That UI Can't Be Found Anywhere In Scratch 1.4. Could You Update It To Be Clearer With Something like "The "tags" section on a project page prior to May 2013", Or Something? Thank You!

- While I see your logic, I think the term "Scratch 1.4" fits the image because on the wiki "Scratch 1.4" often refers to the software and the associated website. For example, the linked article is called Project Tags (1.4) and has the {{other version}} template at the top stating "This article or section documents an outdated version of Scratch (version 1.4)." Additionally, the image is in a category entitled Category:Scratch 1.4 Website Images.
- With that said, I changed it to The "Tags" section on a project on the Scratch 1.4 site. to be more clear.
