Image uploading does not work

I have been on the wiki for a while, more than most (~3 years), and it was you who accepted my application to be an editor. I have come across the need to put and image into an article, but any methods I try give me an error that doesn't make the remotest sense.

"The action you are attempting was automatically blocked. Please read the message below for details on why.

You must enter a comment when uploading a new version of a file or editing a file page. You must also include a category when uploading new files. If you believe that this happened in error, please contact a bureaucrat to have it fixed. A list of bureaucrats can be found here. The name of the rule that triggered this warning is described as Prevent uploads or file edits with no comment or category."

What? Where am I supposed to enter this supposed category? What does it mean by "comment?" Please clarify.

Hi there! You need to enter a description of your file into the box labeled "Summary." The description must include a category, which is explained at Special:Upload#Categorizing.

Not able to add an image!

Hi, Help:Images explains how to insert an image on a page. If you're talking about having a signature after all of your messages, you need to add ~~~~ after each message. If you would like to customize this signature (like I have, for example), please read Scratch Wiki:Custom Signatures. This is the code for my "leave a message" box (I'm not sure where I originally learned how to make it):

Just replace my username with yours. mw:Extension:InputBox explains other ways you can customize input boxes. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.

Hi, welcome to the wiki and thanks for your contributions! The talk page system is certainly confusing for many newcomers. Have you checked out Help:Welcome/4? If not, then that should help answer some of your questions.

The :, ::, :::, etc. are called indents. When you're replying to a comment with no indents, you use : before your comment (like I'm doing now). When you're replying to a comment with : before it (such as mine), you use :: before your comment. Then :::, then ::::, etc. This only changes when you're replying to a comment with ~six indents, in which case {{outdent|6}} is often used and the indenting system starts over. Indents make conversations more readable.

Also, in the future, please add ~~~~ after all your comments. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask me!

Contents/ I created a signature but it isn't appearing

Hi bigpuppy, I'm very sorry for contacting you so often, but I wanted to know how to center align the contents table. I've created my userpage, but the contents are aligned to the left. Is there a code to center align it? If yes, please tell me! I also created a signature but I have no idea on how to add it to a post. Please help! Thank you so much!

Hi, no need to apologize! I'm happy to respond to any questions you have. You need to add <center>__TOC__</center> to wherever you want the table of contents to be on your userpage if you want it to be centered. Regarding the signature, please make sure it contains your username with a link to your userpage. In order to use it to replace the default signature (i.e., to make it show up when you use ~~~~), please follow the instructions at S:GOODSIG.

Do you mean you have {{User:PraCoco/Signature}} typed in there, or the code that is on the User:PraCoco/Signature page typed in there? Also, you will want to create a minisig (as described at S:GOODSIG). It appears that you have not yet.

Your minisig should be a subpage of your userpage, like User:PraCoco/Minisig. That should have the content of <br/>{{User:PraCoco/Signature}} (unless you already have a <br/> on your regular signature page). Then you need to put {{User:PraCoco/Minisig}} (or wherever else you created your minisig) into your preferences. Make sure "Treat signature as wikitext" is checked. For more information, see S:GOODSIG (I was cross-referencing that page while writing this).

Also, please add your username with a link to your userpage to your signature, as per the guidelines at S:CSIG.

Signature Formatting

Hi Bigpuppy. Thank you for your help with my user page header and uploading my user icon a few months ago! I was able to put in both a header and a logo to my user page, thanks to you. I recently decided to make a custom signature and I've seen the guidelines (and I think it fits them), I just need some help with sizing it (by the way, I looked at some of the code from Leahcitmo to see the basics of how to create it). The "talk" and "contribs" buttons are way too big and I've tried to fix this using <small>SmallText</small>, however it didn't seem to work. My signature is here.

I did that on purpose though, since it wasn't making "contribs" bigger so I made a new <small>(Text)</small> after the "•" for the word "contribs" to see if that fixed it. Even after the deleting the </small>, it still isn't adjusting the size of "contribs" though.

Hi, the "talk" text may look smaller than the "contribs" text because it's a different font. It looks like you wanted both to be the same font, but it didn't work because you forgot a dash. Please let me know if that fixes your issue.

Do you identify yourself as a dog? In among us I say I'm a dog that can type, which is what you are kinda pointing to in the last user (or dog) who edited the page. Anyway, How do you make that thing that lists the last person who edited a page?

The issue is your signature should contain a link to your userpage with your username. I can't quickly tell from looking at your sig that you are PraCoco, since I only see your avatar and not your username.

Formatting Text

Note: Since I use British English, I will use colour instead of color outside of the code used to change text colour.

To change your signature's text colour, put <div style="color:the colour you want"> (replacing the italics with your desired colour, and there is no 'u' unlike the rest of this reply) before your signature's content and </div> at the end of it.

Speaking of your signature, you still need your username in your signature.
