How did you create your sandbox?
Hi bigpuppy! I was wondering how you were able to add the amount of edits a user has done to your sandbox. Since it is a special page, I can't press the edit button, and without pressing the edit button, I can't see the code. I would appreciate if you would tell me here, so that I get notified when you reply! Thanks!

A question
Hi. I tried editing my user page by adding color and a sidebar. It mostly worked except now I have a few problems.1) I don’t know how to upload a picture of my logo to my user page (And yes, I did look at the article on how to do it but still can’t seem to make it work) 2) Since my sidebar is in the center of my userpage, it made the rest of the text on my userpage shift to the center too. If you could please help me that would be great. Also, I used you code for the sidebar so I will find a place to credit you.

- Hello, J_Coder26. Here are the answers to your questions:
- You need to upload your logo to the Scratch Wiki. To do this, follow the instructions at Special:Upload (is that the page you looked at?). Then reference the file with

. - It looks like you used my header, not my sidebar. To fix your problem, you need to add
</center>
to the end of the header's code. Alternatively, copy the code from User:Bigpuppy/User:J Coder26/Navigation Fixed (it's your header's code, but with the closing center tag). That should fix it.

- Feel free to ask me if you have any further questions.

Hello Bigpuppy!
Do you have any tips on editing? I want some advice from some experienced editors before I have a go, just to make sure I'm doing it right.
Jaywing321 (talk | contribs) 07:48, 1 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, Jaywing321! Welcome to the Scratch Wiki! You might consider checking out my New Wikian Tips. Also, please remove one of the headers that you added — adding two messes up the table of contents on my talk page. Thanks

How do you do the key presses??
Hello Bigpuppy again - you most likely remember me. Or not. Idk. So I was wondering how to do key presses in the Wiki - as in the graphic looking like a key. Can you tell me how to do that, or which template that is. Thanks!
Mohie (talk | contribs) 16:38, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hello! You can use the kp template; for example,
enter
makes ↵ Enter.

Something
A userspace article of mine you deleted (by my request) was only created 4 minutes before that! Speaking about articles being deleted, is it possible on this wiki to find the shortest amount of time between an article being created and deleted?
Jammum (💬 Talk - ✍️ Contribs) 15:55, 10 June 2020 (UTC)
- I'm really not sure. The only way I can think of is to manually look through the deletion log or run through it with an automated script. You could try asking Ken, though. He'd probably know the answer to a question like this better than me.
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 16:02, 10 June 2020 (UTC)- This link can help. Also, check Special:Version for downloaded extensions.

Confusion about editing the wiki
Hi, since yesterday I’ve been eager to edit wiki pages As being “helpful” but I noticed I got a message (I only noticed hours later I got it) explaining about that I was doing and I was confused on the “edit summery” part. What I don’t now is the fact I’m a new wiki user (as you may know obviously but I also have 0% experience with typing on wikis) Now I want to ask these questions (or statements?):
1)what is the purpose of edit summary?
2)I’m embarrassed that admins and experienced wiki can actually view the saved edits I do on the wiki. Is this also possible with cancelled and ones that are being typed?
3)should I do less wiki edits a day (like 10)?
4)I was editing my user page and tried to put a heading so I clicked help and copy pasted the text and when I clicked preview it showed a grey box With the text. Not text which looks like a title. How do I add a heading so that it may not show the “grey box.”
Hani2018 (talk | contribs) 18:31, 11 June 2020 (UTC)
- 1)what is the purpose of edit summary? - Simple, it's for help the editors about the purpose of edit.
- 2)I’m embarrassed that admins and experienced wikians can actually view the saved edits I do on the wiki. Is this also possible with cancelled and ones that are being typed? - yes, they can rollback it, but if you didn't save your edit, they can't do anything.
- 3)should I do less wiki edits a day (like 10)? - This is your choice. If you don't want to edit, you won't do edit. There isn't a standard for edit.
- 4)I was editing my user page and tried to put a heading so I clicked help and copy pasted the text and when I clicked preview it showed a grey box With the text. Not text which looks like a title. How do I add a heading so that it may not show the “grey box.” - you can do it with tags, if you're interested in, you can find tutorials about CSS. Also, check the template's document.
ahmetlii Talk Contributions Directory 18:48, 11 June 2020 (UTC)- Thanks, Ahmetlii, for answering Hani2018's questions. I just have some things to add on:
- 1) I don't really have anything to add onto Ahmetlii's answer on this one. However, edit summaries are generally very important, so if you have any further questions about them, feel free to ask.
- 2) Actually, anyone can view the edits that anyone saves, as long as they haven't been deleted by an admin. Just go to Special:Contributions/(someone's name) to see their edits. For example, go to Special:Contributions/bigpuppy to see my edits. As Ahmetlii said, no one can see your edits as you're typing them, but anyone can view all of your past edits (even reverted ones) by going into your contribution history. You can also view the history of any page by clicking the pencil icon at the top, then "History." Why don't you try it on this page? Finally, you can see all of the recent edits to the wiki at Special:RecentChanges (accessible through the "Recent Changes" link on the sidebar).
- 3) I'm sorry if I discouraged you from editing a lot with my message — that was not my intention! In fact, I'm really glad to see someone this enthusiastic about editing the wiki! As Ahmetlii said, it's your choice how many edits you make. If you see something that needs to be fixed, go ahead and fix it! If you make a mistake, someone else will fix it. That's the beauty of wikis.
- 4) It's because you put extra spaces before the headings — view User:Bigpuppy/User:Hani2018 Fixed, I fixed it for you. Just click "edit" and copy-and-paste the contents. (Keep in mind that you were also using level three headings, or headings with three equals signs on each side, and I changed it to the standard two.)

haha yes
I love the image that you just uploaded and put on your userpage!

Question about CSS
Hi! I'm trying to figure out CSS on the wiki, so I was wondering if there's a way to change the color of links? No matter what I do they're blue. I apologize if I've done something wrong or messed anything up on your talk page with this message! It's my first time leaving a message for anyone.
Honeybreeze (talk | contribs) 05:01, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
- 1.You can change it with this code:
<div style="color:grey">User talk:Bigpuppy</div>
- Code's output will be: That can be used for an navigation box(because it will show its color when you're in same page.)
- 2.You can try something like this:
<span style="color:purple">Bigpuppy</span>
- That makes this: Bigpuppy It will show its color always.
- You can change the color and link, you can merge the codes. Also, don't scare for ask! I hope you will do a lot of great edits.

Hi!
How do you do that "leave me a message" box on your talk page? It is SO cool! :)
Also I am actually --Explosion--, my username was changed a long time ago.

No customizing acceptance summaries
Hello! Customizing acceptance summaries is not allowed, as it sets them aside from others. Even if it was a very good account request, please use the same acceptance summary for everyone.
Also, thanks for handling a bunch of the account requests!
TenType (talk | contribs) 01:00, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- Really? I've never heard of that rule. It wasn't that the request was specifically very good, anyway, it was just supposed to be for fun. Who/where did you hear that from? I've done it in the past, anyway, and have never gotten told off for it. If you check the normal user creation log, there are other summaries by other people that are not just "Welcome!", as well. I'd be happy to not do this in the future; I'm just not a fan of being told off for a rule I've never heard of. Thanks!
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 01:16, 23 June 2020 (UTC)- Furthermore, when you're reviewing an account request, it says "When accepting, leave blank unless you want to add a reason/comment to the account creation log." Again, I'd be happy to refrain from doing this in the future — it's just that in the ~2 years I've been doing this, I've never heard of the rule. Please specify whether this is just something an admin just told you or if it's officially documented somewhere. I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm coming at you (I'm not trying to), but again, I've never heard of this rule.
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 01:23, 23 June 2020 (UTC)- Ken says its not allowed.
TenType (talk | contribs) 01:26, 23 June 2020 (UTC)- No worries bigpuppy - I believe TenType may not have an insight into the history of the custom. You've done nothing wrong. I believe we may have discussed this in AdminChat once and not updated the documentation accordingly. Apologies. I'll make sure to add it . Thank you for all that you do!
Makethebrainhappy (talk | contribs) 01:38, 23 June 2020 (UTC)- Alright, thank you, MTBH. TenType, I'm sorry if I was kind of shooting the messenger — I hope you can understand why I was a bit surprised/upset (well, for the reasons I mentioned). I didn't realize something I just did for fun would cause such a ruckus (especially something relatively minor, in my opinion)!

bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 01:51, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- (Oh, and by the way, by saying "It wasn't that the request was specifically very good," I wasn't trying to imply that the request wasn't very good; I was simply saying that that's not why I left the custom acceptance summary, even if the request was very good. The content of the request was irrelevant in my deciding to use that acceptance summary; as I said, it was just for fun. No one has to reply to this note, I just wanted to clarify.)

Uhh...
It kind of feels like you're stalking me because the last few messages on my talkpage were from you. I know this is a bit of an odd question, but are you actively trying to stalk me?
Garnetluvcookie (talk | contribs) 14:49, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
- That's not really something you ask someone... No, of course I'm not stalking you! I patrol Recent Changes, and when I see something that I think I should leave a talk page message for, I leave it. In a way, I'm stalking everyone on the wiki.
