Many people know your quotes, like the Ivy Gridge and Existence one. Do you know where you first said it?

Thanks, and thanks for your great contributions to the wiki!

Custom Signature
Your signature violates S:CSIG because it contains a yellow background.
Millie S (talk|961 contribs|directory) 19:43, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
- Elaboration? Several bureaucrats have seen it and I have never been notified. 19:46, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
“ | The signature may not contain any background colors, images, or borders | ” |
- In addition, yellow may attract undesirable attention which is noit allowed.
Jokebookservice1 (talk | contribs) 19:50, 29 June 2018 (UTC)- But it is not flashy. 19:52, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
- If I was never notified about the background before, and I've had this signature for a long time, meaning bureaucrats have seen it time and time again, it should be allowed on this wiki. 19:53, 29 June 2018 (UTC)

- But it is not flashy.

It is a "background colo[u]r" which is not generally allowed. In addition, yellow is a colour which may attract unwanted attention, because yellow is naturally bright (it's the colour of the sun, which may be the evolutionary reason for this). This is shown by high-visibility vests and life-jackets, as well as aircraft black boxes, being orange or yellow in colour. If you think your signature deserves an exception, I encourage you to request consensus on the community portal -- I'm sure it'll be allowed because, as you say, it seems to have been working for quite a while -- but we'll see.
Jokebookservice1 (talk | contribs) 19:59, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
- 1. Again, I will assume it is allowed, since I was never notified by a bureaucrat. Remember Ken has a border . 2. It's not a bright yellow, though. 20:01, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
- And for those very reasons, your signature might be allowed, despite the rules. However, I'm a little confused why you don't wish to seek consensus? In addition, the guidlines make two seperate rules: no background colours, and no undue attention. Thus, even mundane colours might not be allowed. Nonetheless, we need to see what happens. You are correct that Wiki user Kenny2Scratch has a custom signature with a border, but it's much less flashy, though, than a solid block of colour. If I recall correctly, that signature was disputed, and it was decided that their particular signature was okay. However, this should always be done on an individual basis. Lack of criticism is not equivilent to active approval.
Jokebookservice1 (talk | contribs) 20:17, 29 June 2018 (UTC)- If there are issues with a signature, an admin would not wait two years to tell someone. 20:15, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
- That's not a conclusion you can make with 100% certainty. I would argue that signature rules are for the community, not the admins, and so it's not their responsibility to make these judgements. Some admins might not have had the time to be helpful enough to let you know, so it'd be awesome if you could get an explicit approval from the community on the CP
Jokebookservice1 (talk | contribs) 20:17, 29 June 2018 (UTC)- Now you're suggesting no admins had the time in the space of like two years to tell me. 20:20, 29 June 2018 (UTC)

Kindly, they weren't explicitly asked to do so. The admins of this Wiki are volunteers, who don't earn any money and do as much as they can in the (sometimes little) time they have. Please understand that they can't comment on every user's signature, as much as that would be awesome. I encourage you to ask for consensus so that admins can know that this is something you want them to do -- that way they can fit it into their routine, and they'd give you an explicit approval -- which would end this discussion.

kenny2scratch Talk Contribs Directory 03:07, 7 July 2018 (UTC)- How do you think a new user would feel, once they saw your userpage and saw all the things that you boast about on your own userpage, except just on a much larger scale than banana?
Daring Sailor [ Talk | Contribs | More... ] 13:16, 7 July 2018 (UTC)- How do you think a new user would feel if they saw that you created all these things?
- 1. It discourages new users, thinking that they are not needed because you are doing all the work;
- 2. It hurts their feelings, which just reduces the chance that they will be active;
- 3. and when they become as experienced as you, they will follow and brag about their own creations, which starts the following all over again.
- Can you PLEASE change your welcome template?

- 1. When you brag, users realize how much work you are doing and assume they are not needed. 2. People don't feel good when you hurt their feelings. They think the Scratch Wiki isn't a good place to be as they think that there is a lot of fighting. 3. The chance is very slim, but if one user gets to that point, in turn, they will make tens of users think 1 and 2.

You're not supposed to move popular pages without a warning and without fixing up other links. Blocks (1.4) was good the way it was. Don't move popular pages unless you actually have a good reason.

- Motherboard - Asus H170-M Plus
- CPU - Intel Skylake Celeron LGA115
- CIT 1015BS
- Came with a power supply. After a year and a half, it failed.
- Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB hard drive
- Hypertec DDR4 4GB of basic memory
- Later on down the line, I upgraded the system (in chronological order) with:
- Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) Black memory
- Corsair CX550 power supply 08:04, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
