Welcome to the Scratch Wiki!
Hi -gr and welcome to the Scratch Wiki! I'm banana439monkey (or Banana for short) and, however inactive I am, I'm an experienced wikian. Outside of the wiki, I'm a maker who makes projects either out of curiosity or for the sake of the end user and with them in mind (after all, the end user is why I do what I do). The wiki's a welcoming place full of friendly and helpful Scratchers who are eager to see what edits you make! If you need help, you can always ask me, although given my activity, you'd be better off asking on the Community Portal or reading the help pages. Following the welcome tutorial is also a great way of finding your way round the wiki! Anyway, that concludes my grand speech and it's your time to do the unimaginable. Have fun and enjoy your stay!

Cool tips on how to edit
  1. To edit, click the pencil icon at the top of the page next to your username. Then, click edit. If you don't see the button it may be because the page is protected for certain users.
  2. After you are in the editor, check out the cheatsheet for editing tips.
  3. You can also check out the help pages for more detailed information on editing.
  4. You can test editing features out in the community sandbox (it will get cleared every few hours), or you can make your own sandbox here.
  5. Before making a page, make sure it does not already exist. You can do this by using the search bar located at the top of the page.
  6. If the page you wanted to make is already created, you can create a redirect page! For more info on redirect pages, see this.
  7. To make a page, go here, or type the page name you want in the search bar and then press the link that says "create this page by editing this!"
  8. For information on magic words, check out the MediaWiki Documentatation.

  1. Use random page
  2. Check out articles to expand
  3. Check out article stubs
  4. Look at edits on recent changes and see what you can do to improve it even more.


Cool tips for posting on talk pages
  1. To post on someone's talk page, simply press the pencil icon and then press "New Topic". Type in the subject and message.
  2. Then, make sure you sign your post with 4 tidles (~~~~)
  3. When replying to a talk page post, edit the section that has the message and then indent your post with a colon (:). If someone already replied, use one more colon then they used. (See example conversation below)

Please do not use the {{welcome}} template

Hi there! It's great that you want to welcome new wikians, however, in this edit you used the {{welcome}} template to welcome a new user. However, on the template page, it states that only EW's (including admins) should use the template when welcoming new users. Other users are welcome to post their personal templates, but not the default one. Until you create your own template, I suggest either just leaving a short message (ex: Welcome to the Wiki! Have fun editing) or just altogether not post welcome messages until you have a personal template. Thanks again for your great edits and for welcoming new users! :)

Error on your userpage and some recommendations

Hi I have a few recommendations for your userpage. On your userpage it says 'Thanks to wangat, leachimoto and biggpuppy for inspiring this header' twice. Also, most of the links you added don't need to be external as you could simply put users:-gr to link to your Scratch profile and studios:STUDIO ID to link to studios and projects:PROJECT ID to link to projects (Links like that don't have the little icon next to them and take up less space). Other than those things it is a very well shown userpage.

Okay, I don't know how my header got messed up, I'll fix that now. I used to not have it as a template but now I do so that might have been the issue. Also I didn't know about the users/studios/projects link but I'll use that now. Is there any chance that works with topic/post? Thanks for telling me about those issues!

For topics you can put topic:TOPIC ID and for post you can put and for posts you can put post:POST ID. You can read more about links here.
