Howdy all y'all. :)

Indenting

So as to not derail the CP, i'll tell you here. :P

What we do when it the indentation gets too long is this:

post
post

etc

post
post
post
post

(PS: are you from the South?)
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 16:52, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the info!
Ah, so after the 7th indent, you just pop back to the top? Do you use the position of the indent to indicate which post you are replying to? Or does each response just increase the indent by one?
And yeah, I'm somewhat Southern. Any vernacular with a second person plural is superior to the queen's English in my view. :P Yee-Haw!
Lightnin (talk | contribs) 00:44, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
I think Scimonster is somewhat simplifying how the indentation works. A general rule of thumb is if you are replying to just one particular person, then you can just indent and post after them. However if you are replying to more than one person, or if you perhaps want to introduce another idea/question into the discussion, then you can indent back.
Let's say a person creates a discussion about a particular article, and it is not indented. The first person who replies indents once. Let's say the second person only wants to just reply to the first reply-er (the word "responder" doesn't really seem right imo :P), and so he/she indents twice. A third person joins the discussion, but chooses to just reply to the first post, perhaps including their thoughts on what the first or second reply-er said. They only indent once. Does that make sense? There is an example similar to what I described here.

In the last case you mentioned ("A third person joins the discussion, but chooses to just reply to the first post, perhaps including their thoughts on what the first or second reply-er said. They only indent once.") if i do that, i usually indent twice.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 09:55, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
I think indenting once (so it's basically a direct reply to the first post) would be better in that situation. :)
Lucario621 (talk | contribs) 22:21, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
BTW, Lightnin, sigs go on the same line as the post, so that it doesn't mess up the indentation. :)

Scratch2013BCN

Hello Lightnin,

Could you help to get a decission at: http://wiki.scratch.mit.edu/wiki/Scratch_Wiki_talk:Community_Portal#Could_the_Scratch_Wiki_help_to_promote_Scratch_Connecting_Worlds_2013.3F

Thank you very much in advance!

Scratchblocks

Hi! JSO doesn't seem to have been around for a while, and it seemed like fun, so I've been working on a complete rewrite of the blocks plugin for Scratch 2.0, on Github here. Will you use it on the 2.0 site? Also, what license should I use? Thanks! :)

I'm IP banned from the main site

I can't find any of my posts that have been disrespectful, and my comments/projects seem to be okay... mind telling me what happened? This is a screenshot of what it says when I log in: https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik=761a3a8b54&view=att&th=140f0509ac20d83e&attid=0.1&disp=emb&realattid=ii_140f04677c5fb161&zw&atsh=1 (I can't use image hosts, so I have to use gmail as a host :P).

This is what it says if you don't want to download it: "Sorry, we've had to block logins from your network because it was used to break our community guidelines.

The people in charge of the network may contact us at appeals@scratch.mit.edu (case #3340453910) for details.

In the mean time, you can still browse the site and create projects you can save locally."

And I found a bug: the title html tag says "has been banned from Scratch". Shouldn't it say "Your IP has been banned from Scratch"?

Regards,
OrcaCat (talk | contribs) 23:00, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

A lot of us are IP banned. It is a glitch. Here. Turkey3 also started a section on the community portal.

Ah, phew.
