History

Note Note: All times here are in Australian Eastern Standard Time unless otherwise states

Beginning

On February 6th 12:33 AM Scratch time (EST) Hellounicorns2 created the SPA[1]. A minute later he/she made another post with info for shops with all of the BBcode [2]. Another minute later was how to join post [3], and after that the list of shops post [4]. Two minutes later and there was the voting system post[5], and then the laws post[6]; it went on for 11 posts [7]. All of the posts originally said ‘This is under construction’ as hellounicorns2 was on the bus at the time. They then added information and told a few friends a few minutes after they hopped of the bus. (Just a fun story)

First Shops

The 1st shop to join was Minimart run by SwordieTheCoder[8], Hellounicorns2's best friend. The second shop in the list was the Space Shop (which is run by hellounicorns2), however it was actually the first member but second due to technical reasons. The third shop was the Effect of Effects run by GrahamSH[9] (which has now been removed[10]).

March 2018 Presidential Election

The most recent election was won by poppybunny. [citation needed][explain]

June 2018 Presidential Election

On the 6th of May 2018 it was declared by hellounicorns2 that in accordance with the law, 3 months after the last election, an election would be held on the 1st of June[11]. The election exploded with candidates overnight, and by the time hellounicorns2 had woken up 3 new pages had been made and 13 people had expressed that they wished to run[12]. Hellounicorns2 began documenting the voting page with candidates and confirmed to the candidiates what they would have to make by election day[13]. Hellounicorns2 made the decision to not show all of the speeches and debate answers in the main voting post to prevent an extremely long post [14].

Current

There are now 38+ shops[15].

SPA Subsidiary Organisations

SPA News

Main page: User:RPP-Exploration/SPA-News/

Created by hellounicorns2 and currently run by python_megapixel[citation needed], SPA News is a newspaper for the SPA. It publishes news about what is going on in the SPA and Scratch in general, as well as competitions and polls[citation needed].

New Shop Nurturing Program

The New Shop Nurturing Program or NSNP was announced by hellounicorns2 in a new law (section 10) proposed shortly after the first presidential election[citation needed]. It allows members of the Scratch community who want to start a shop to choose from a selection of pre-made templates and receive assistance from the SPA until they can continue on their own.[citation needed]

Section 10 of SPA laws:

10.1: hellounicorns2 will design ~10 shop ideas.
10.1.1: each of these ideas will be fitted with a good description, banner and name.
10.1.2: all material relating to them will be watermarked to prevent unauthorised use.
10.2: anybody can ask to use one of them
10.2.1: they will be given one with a smaller watermark below stating that ‘This Shop Is Half-Owned By The SPA’
10.2.2: they will be half-owned by the SPA (as stated in the watermark)
10.2.3: we will gradually allow them more independence
10.2.4: every week they will be reviewed by the Shop Review Shop
10.2.5: if they are successful in reaching a score of 18 at the Shop Review Shop they will be given one last week with half-ownership by us
10.2.6: after this they will become a normal shop, and will remain a normal member of the SPA
10.3: we don’t become members if their shop, they start out as sole worker
10.4: they must credit us for their banner and shop idea
10.5: the shop ideas page will be listed on a separate page to the main page to prevent slower loading times due to large banners
10.6: they can leave the SPA at any time
10.7: all Nurturing shops will be given advertising, which will be organised by the Head of Shops

Shop Ranking Program

The Shop Ranking Program or SRP is a partnership between the SPA and python_megapixel's Shop Review Shop[citation needed]. The aim is to give shops ranks and awards to strive for. Currently, only 2 awards have been given[citation needed].

Collaboration Partnership Association

Main page: User:Bla-Games/Collaboration Partnership Association

The Collaboration Partnership Association, or C.P.A. for short, is an extension of the S.P.A. for the Collaborations section of the Scratch Discussion Forums. It was created by Bla-Games, with permission from hellounicorns2[16]. You can find out more here. Note Note: This is a recent development so most pages are under construction.
