Page Deletion
I don't think watermarks deserve their own page, since it is unimportant and it is part of user-generated content on Scratch. Requesting this page to be deleted. OurPrincess (talk | contribs) 11:02, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
- This doesn't break S:NOSP though, since many Scratchers use it, not just one. A quote directly from it: The exceptions to this rule are:

Trends that are notably popular; the trends must be practiced by many Scratchers.

- I agree, watermarks are not specific to Scratch and do not belong on the Scratch Wiki.

This page is too simple and short. I agree that watermarks are important, however, if there was more information than this would've been a better article.

- I think it should be moved to a different article. This is more of a section than an article.

- I just think it could maybe be expanded more, but it definently deserves an article. Like for example, a Scratcher says to a New Scratcher, "Do you put watermarks on your projects?" and the New Scratcher has no idea what it is. They'd search this Wiki for the term, and see this page, explaining what it is. Or they could just ask the Scratcher, I guess. I don't know where I'm going with this, but I do think the page should stay.

- I agree with Dominic305. This article could be very useful to people that don't know what a watermark is and look it up on the Scratch Wiki. I think it should stay.

I didn't discover the Wiki until like June of this year... I joined September last year...
I don't think that a New Scratcher will discover the Wiki when, y'know, new scratcher time.

I also think this page should stay but it does need to be extended quite a bit. Lovecodeabc, some new scratchers might know about the wiki from siblings, or scratchers they are following.

- Maybe we can make a different section in some other page, and write about it in there. There aren't many Scratchers who actually use a watermark, and it is pretty self-explanatory.

- Hi folks, I fixed the indenting in this discussion enough to make it easily readable. If you are confused about indenting, then please check out Help:Welcome/4.
- As for the article, I think that the information definitely has a place on the wiki, though I an indifferent as to whether it has its own page or is a section in another page. If the latter option is chosen, it would still be easily searchable as we could just make a redirect to that section.

- Couldn't this be merged somewhere else? The information here is definitely useful enough to be on the wiki, but as it's own article? It should just be a redirect.

- I agree with dhuls, this should be merged as a section in a different article, perphaps Project Trends, and have this page redirect to it.

- I also agree with dhuls and TheTrillion. It would make sense for this to be merged with Project Trends.

Wow, that's a long topic than I actually expected. Anyways, to put my comments: while I also agree on the principle that we can merge this article into Project Trends (as it's primarily relevant to projects), I think it would be a loose connection between the topics, as watermarks are also used (as far as I've seen) outside of projects in Scratch; for example I've seen some examples of watermarks on forum banners, shops, and studio thumbnails before, even though their scope and spread is fairly limited. However, currently the page itself is lacking lots of features that is expected on a proper, separated article: citations, pictures, content, and so on. After some edits, I believe that the article may show similar resemblance Evil Kumquat per content formatting, and would be no need to merge, even though a mention would be helpful for the readers. ahmetlii Talk Contributions Directory 18:21, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- Maybe we put this into Project Trends and Forum Trends?

- Chiming in to say that I don't think this deserves its own article, but I don't agree that it should have gone into Project Trends either. This isn't really a trend - it's just a component of a project that some people use. If I had to pick, I'd say to merge it into Project Types and redirect this to that section.

- I feel like there would need to be more information for this to be worthy of an article. Yeah, I'm gonna have to say Watermarks doesn't deserve its own article. Maybe, like Kenny2Scratch said, merge it into Project Types.

- I don't think this should go into Project Types. Watermarks are part of a project, not a whole type of project (games, animations etc.).
