If the whole point of tutorials is to teach something, is a page that calls itself a tutorial but doesn't show how really needed?

- I suppose we could upload the scripts? I'm not sure if Nickbrickmaster would like it though :P
Jonathanpb (talk | contribs) 07:34, 27 May 2011 (UTC)- I just wanted to make this page but didn't have time to complete it :p I'm making a tutorial today.
Nickbrickmaster (talk | contribs) 14:33, 27 May 2011 (UTC)- Actually, it should be deleted. The tutorial would be too long and there are as many ways to do it as stars in the sky, so one would be frustrated by it.
Nickbrickmaster (talk | contribs) 17:22, 27 May 2011 (UTC)- Eh, there are many ways to do scrolling and we still have a tutorial on it :P
Jonathanpb (talk | contribs) 05:44, 28 May 2011 (UTC)- A tutorial on the simplest way is probably best. As long as there is some kind of method.
WeirdF (talk | contribs) 15:21, 28 May 2011 (UTC)- Both of the methods I have seen (mine and Kileymiester's) are super complicated.
Nickbrickmaster (talk | contribs) 14:25, 30 May 2011 (UTC)- Upload images of the scripts in pieces, and explain along the way. :)
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 14:35, 30 May 2011 (UTC)- I know a way of wall-jumping. I haven't actually used it but its not overly complicated. First you have to set up your scrolling level to use velocity. Once you do that you have to add wall detection. Once you have wall-detection you have to make a script that reverses your horizontal velocity and increases you vertical velocity. If you know a decent amount about variables, then its not too hard to make.
Dazman (talk | contribs) 15:21, 30 May 2011 (UTC)- Gosh this page makes me happy :') *Sniffs* XD Oh? And Dazman? That's what I use for Ninja Bob.

Wall-Jumping in other games
Should this article mention that "wall-jumping is a common technique used in platform games."? It seems like a lot of other articles mention that these kinds of terms are not just Scratch-specific.

This needs to be redone
I tried out the project linked in the bottom section of this page for fun, and it turns out the engine doesn't actually work (or, at least not in the project). The notes say that the entire first tutorial was based off that project, so if the tutorial is wrong, it means a lot of work needs to be done on this article. Is anybody up to the task?
