Added link to Current Events

In a revision of this page's history], the link to current events was removed (I don't know why.) I'm suggesting that it should be added back, so people can see more news if they want. What do you think?

Change his/her to their

Don't you think it's better seeing (when there's a new curator) "example has been chosen as the one-hundred-ninety-third curator on the Front Page. Feel free to congratulate example on their profile!" rather than "example has been chosen as the one-hundred-ninety-third curator on the Front Page. Feel free to congratulate example on his/her profile!" In my opinion, it's less boring and I, myself use them, their and they when I don't know the gender of the person.

Although a lot of people use them, their, and they for situations where you don't know gender, it is not grammatically correct. That's why it would not be a good idea to switch the words being used.

Easy solution:

1. Use ScratchTools to find the next curator a week ahead of time.
2. Ask that user their gender.
3. If they say, use their gender, otherwise, use "them."

In modern usage, "they" is considered an acceptable gender-neutral pronoun for a single person, and we actually had a discussion on the CP about this a while ago about making sure to be inclusive of nonbinary people.

It's not outdated? The current curator, as reported by the Scratch main site, is BlueElectricity, which is what the news says is the most recent curator. Future curators go on the Curator (front page)/Future Curators page, not here.

I think it doesn't matter - you can say multiple people "were elected President" over the course of the last hundred years, so you can say multiple people were elected Experienced Wikian.
