This article seems a bit useless to me ^^ BTW someone categorize the page for me :P Jonathanpb (talk | contribs) 03:33, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- I agree.
Bsteward (talk | contribs) 04:00, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- I categorized it. :P
- I don't know so much about the non-usefulness... :/

- Sorry to necropost, but this was never really cleared up. :P I can't think how this article can really help anybody in any situation. I can't imagine a scenario in which one would need to know about quitting Scratch, and everything in this article speaks for itself anyway. The April Fools' Day is maybe the only thing that is necessary, but that can be added to the main article. Anyway, that's just my opinion ^^

- I think it's pretty useful because it is something that happens within the community fairly often. Someone unfamiliar with the community wouldn't really know this and could learn from this page. I think it could be expanded a bit, but I still think it's useful.

- I don't really think this article is necessary. You might consider it a phenomenon on the Scratch Website, since indeed, it does happen a lot. But this isn't unique to Scratch, it happens everywhere - so it's not really necessary in any way.

- Then pages like Flame War and Constructive Criticism should be deleted.
Veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 16:25, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- Hmm... (I didn't know we had those articles lol)... you bring a good point. I suppose Constructive Criticism should be deleted. Flame War is more exclusive to the internet, and it could still be useful since it's a somewhat common hazard in the forums (and it's important for Scratchers to learn what to do when it happens). However, as I mentioned, quitting is very broad - you can quit a job, you can quit on a website, you can quit a game, etc.

- I do think CC should be deleted as well. :P
- As for it being broad, so what? This doesn't focus on those other meanings, it's internet (and Scratch) specific and I think if Flame War merits a page, this should too.

- I guess the question is: What are the primary goals of the Scratcher's wiki? Without clear guidelines, it's hard to say what should and should not be kept. It seems like some of the goals are to support Scratchers with tutorials, and also to document and describe phenomena that happen in the community. But it might be helpful to have a mission statement, or a set of clear guidelines, to help decide what to do in situations like this. I can see keeping "Quitting" and other pages if they explain how these phenomena play out specifically on Scratch, which I think can be interesting. But just saying "people sometimes quit" doesn't seem worthwhile.

- I think this article is somewhat unnecessary, but might be useful to people who are inexperienced with the Internet, and may also just be fun to read. :)

Why have this?
Why do we have this when we have Moving On? This is the more dramatic leaving of Scratch that this article refers too. Turkey3 (talk | contribs) 02:59, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- Moving On describes what to do upon moving on, and this article lists ways why Scratchers quit in general.
- I see what you mean, though.

Whoops!
I added a section here explaining how to delete an account, not realizing there are already two pages explaning this. The thing is, I spent a LOT of time making it so I don't know if I should delete it, or leave it and simply provide a link to the two pages: How do I delete my account? and Account Deletion. (P.S. How do you create a talk page?) EIephant_Lover (talk | contribs) 21:08, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I don't think the section's even relevant to the topic (this page is documenting what quitting is and what types there are, rather than how to quit permanently), so I've removed the section. I just improved Account Deletion somewhat, but you can feel free to revamp that too. If you want a permalink to the revision with your section, here it is.

- Okay :) Thanks for the permalink! I wasn't really sure if it should have been kept, but I guess you made the descision for me. Thank you :) But, how do you make an editing talk???
