Useful?, Delete?

I feel like this page will lead to pages about projects, and lists of other types of projects. I thought that that wasn't what the Scratch Wiki was for... ?

Even Though This Is An Old Message, I Will Reply Anyway. So I Am Not Sure About Deleting This. Maybe We Could Merge It?

I don't see anything wrong with pages about projects. If they become an issue (which I don't expect they will) then we'll deal with it then and add more standards for "notability". For now, focus only on Operating System projects that have more than one version AND more than one person involved in them.

We would have to rewrite/add another exception for Scratch Wiki:Scratchers and Projects don't deserve articles.

Exception added to Scratch Wiki:Scratchers and Projects don't deserve articles

By the way, for the record, SynOS is not just one project. It's a whole set of projects, galleries, "apps", discussion threads, etc.
Andresmh (talk | contribs) 20:32, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

But what makes operating systems more notable than other projects?
Veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 20:42, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Operating Systems are way cooler! Just imaging the possibilities. If scratch was able to make to modify system files, then you could make an operating system IN an operating system!
Dazman (talk | contribs) 20:45, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
That actually works. With Mesh you could even simulate the internet, chat rooms and more!!!
Dazman (talk | contribs) 20:46, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
That is subject to opinion though. For many people, operating systems are not the coolest.
Veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 20:48, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
I dont know... anyone can make a game. Making an operating system that accepts external apps, importing of media, and that connects to the internet via mesh is a very difficult project to make. I know those people really put some work into making those. With a game or animation, people can just use other peoples work to make their projects better.
Dazman (talk | contribs) 21:03, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
...but they can also put a ton of work into it also. All of the reasons that you have are really subjective. I say that if we allow operating systems, we should allow other projects too. It's only fair!
Veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 21:19, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
OS are not more notable than other types of projects. Every trend in Scratch that has been active for a few months and that has involved a number of people should be documented. For example, I think there should be an article about Takis (if there's isn't one). It is not just about one single project but about a project that represents a larger trend.
Andresmh (talk | contribs) 21:34, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
Hmm... okay. Would this merit a new category, Category:Scratch Culture?
Veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 21:46, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
Good idea!
Andresmh (talk | contribs) 22:00, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
So... we are making pages about project trends?
Dazman (talk | contribs) 22:56, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
Yes, that would be great!
Andresmh (talk | contribs)
I have just lost an hours work! :P
Purika (talk | contribs) 18:18, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
That's too bad. I have an extension that allows me to recover unsaved edits called Lazarus.
Bsteward (talk | contribs) 18:22, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

I don't think this page is any use. There's a more comprehensive list in the forums, this list is barely updated, and there are way too many OSs in scratch to put on this list...
Fg123 (talk | contribs) 05:09, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

This is a good reason to get rid of it...
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 11:04, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

When are we getting back to this? I agree with Fg123. I couldn't have said it better.
Mathfreak231 (talk | contribs) 20:45, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Probably when I get around to writing my guidelines. :P
veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 23:07, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
I'll give it a month. Seriously, we need an "articles for deletion" page.
Mathfreak231 (talk | contribs) 13:14, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
Do you mean a list of articles for deletion or in question of usefulness?
Bsteward (talk | contribs) 15:26, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
An articles for deletion page (based on Wikipedia's) for discussions / nominations for things that actually need discussion was planned at one point by Lucario; I do not know when it is planned to be implemented.
veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 05:20, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

A lot of These OS's are by one person....

Coinman (talk | contribs) 01:41, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

yup... Should someone remove them?
