Double footnote

The footnote is doubled—it should read different for 2 and 3.

I feel like they should have the same footnote, [2], but I'm not sure how to do that :/

Curator Stuff

If someone (guilty smile) looks frequently at the Curator Komputor and finds out who the next curator is, should they update the curator list page?
Technoboy10 (talk | contribs) 14:53, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Nah, because we can't really know the order that they'll go in and it's best to just leave future information to the future.
Veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 15:03, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
Okey-dokey then.

New Name

Perhaps this could be called List of Curators. We could also name it: Curator/List of Curators.
Joletole (talk | contribs) 14:19, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

Perhaps the second option would work.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 10:18, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
Yeah. I will move this page.
Joletole (talk | contribs) 00:26, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

New organization

Why do we have to have a list of all the curators, then a second list with all of the same ones but only split into 1.4 and 2.0? I think we only need the second one. I only wish I knew how to get a wiki list to start at a certain number...
Mathfreak231 (talk | contribs) 00:07, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

It's not a permanent change. I was just seeing it how it looked before anything happened. If it were permanent, I would have removed the double cite notes.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 00:44, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
Then you should have done it in a sandbox. What we can do have a note by OrcaCat saying that he took his curatorship in two parts - a week before 2.0, and a week during 2.0.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 08:55, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
CC, look what you caused. I put it back.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 15:44, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
Somewhat related, I figured out how to make an ordered list start at a number. See my sandbox.

Future curators

May I add a future curators section? It could help users not a) following thenextcurator and b) one that don't have chooper100's extension find out the next curators. Please notify me on my talk page. :)

Does anyone agree that this could become outdated?

It seems like a good idea, but when I come here, I see that it's not updated (this page [the number and the new person] and the curator wiki page [the number and the new person]). What do you think we should do? Also, did I put this in the right place?
Bright-Idea (talk | contribs) 23:46, 14 September 2016 (UTC)

Yes, it's in the right place :) Most of the editors are pretty good about updating this page, so if it does become outdated it'll only be for a week or so.
Pianogirl84's Logo.png Pianogirl84 Talk Contributions 00:17, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
Sure, theoretically, it could become outdated. However, that's in the same way that every page on this wiki could become outdated if there was no one updating them. I find that we generally manage to update this page pretty quickly to be honest, it doesn't take a lot of work really.
Hamish752 (talk | contribs) 09:04, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
Okay. It's just that someone might update the "There have been 219 curators", but then they forget to change it at the bottom of the page, or something similar.
Bright-Idea (talk | contribs) 18:02, 18 September 2016 (UTC)

regarding -TheGreenNinja-'s shift

@-TheGreenNinja-'s shift was extended by a week since the curator following him took a hiatus off of scratch and is no longer FPC, so his shift is now exceptionally two weeks. Should we mention that? It's quite a rare event since last time it happened was in 2015

Changing names

There should be permanent guidelines on when to change a scratchers name (currently its just case-by-case basis). I would say that when the scratch team renames an account, the name should be updated, but when a user deletes their account and starts a new one, it should not be. This is what has happened so far, and is arguably the best path in the future. Concerns?
Naleksuh.jpg Naleksuh (talk | contribs) 04:12, 9 August 2020 (UTC)

If the ST manually renames the account, that qualifies for updating the name here, I agree.
When it comes to moving accounts, I think that if the destination account becomes FPC, then both the old and new accounts should be listed as separate FPCs. If the destination doesn't become FPC, then the original account is listed and the destination is not. Does that make sense to you?
Kenny2scratch logo.jpg kenny2scratch  Talk  Contribs  Directory
12:43, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
We would list the username that was FPC at the time, except in the case of actual renames (i.e. changing to a new account isnt a rename).

Add front page glitch

As I am writing this, there is a glitch where the curated projects row does not appear. I think a sidenote should be added under the current curator about the glitch. Here is a reference that can be used.

Jammum Icon.png Jammum (💬 Talk - ✍️ Contribs) 17:19, 14 April 2021 (UTC)
Wiktionary's example has a sentence ending with "after the fact," so I would assume it's reasonable to end a sentence that way.

number of FPCs are wrong

The number of curators in the list is 473 (including the current one) but instead it says 'There have currently been 483 curators including the current one.' but the list has 473 curators in it. I assume this is some typo or something.

About the recent issue with the 2 most recent FPCs

5 notes were added to the list of curators, 2 on DuplexCode and 3 on EMangum2. First, why is there one note for DuplexCode having an extra day, and another for a comment that shows it, and not just both in the same reference? Same with the 3 added for EMangum2, why would there also be an extra one talking about them starting late, another showing ceebee's comment, and then another showing EMangum2's response? Would it be better if the 3 were in one note saying something like: "EMangum2's shift was one day late due to them not being able to favorite their projects" and then a link or something like that? Also, some FPCs (such as DoIphinAnimator, as shown here) also had shifts with extra/less days, so why aren't those added, but the most recent one was added?
BrilliantGamer6 (talk | contribs) 21:44, 10 April 2024 (UTC)

@BrilliantGamer6 — Yes, it should be just 2 notes, one for each of the curators! To be honest, these type of events shouldn't be documented (in my opinion) as there would be tens of simliar events that happened in the 10+ years that the FPC program existed.
@Kenny2scratch — Please look at the this topic, thanks!
PS: It is possible to link comments on profiles as internal links (which is shorter): [https://scratch.mit.edu/users/DoIphinAnimator/#comments-297460891] becomes [[users:DoIphinAnimator/#comments-297460891]]
Purin2022 Mini User Icon.png Purin2022 | 💬Talk | 📝Contribs | 🐱Scratch 10:50, 11 April 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for the ping @Purin2022. @BrilliantGamer6, I've added a note about DoIphinAnimator; please provide links to evidence of any other lengthened/truncated shifts. I've folded the {{cite post}} notes into the main ones (begrudgingly - the quote helps provide authenticity and protect against dead links).
Generally the practice seems to have been to document any irregularities in the FPC process, regardless of how minor they may be. For example, AlimuDX and -TheGreenNinja-'s shifts were delayed for similar reasons to the one you pointed out and the one I added the note for. So I just added the note as a routine matter.

There are two problems with the list

B:WM's FPC count variable is currently 604. However, the current curator, Little_miss_pancake, is included in the past-FPC-list (which it shouldn't) in this revision, and there are still only 603 items on the list. Specifically, BalockeyBuilds, the actual 600th curator, is missing in the list. So I request that Little_miss_pancake is removed and insert BalockeyBuilds between JJPinger and luckycrafts.
Purin2022 Mini User Icon.png Purin2022 | 💬Talk | 📝Contribs | 🐱Scratch 18:13, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

I have fixed the original issue, but will need to check back about BalockeyBuilds.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 14:12, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
@Purin2022: Do you have some sort of source that BalockeyBuilds was the 600th curator? Looking back at the updates it appears that there has been an update every Wednesday for the past several weeks, so I don't see any gaps where an update would have been missed.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 17:00, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
@jvvg — ceebee confirmed that they did curate, as found here. ceebee then confirmed that their shift starts on the 8th May, as found here. As found here, the 599th curator, JJPinger, starts on the 1st May. As found here, the 601st curator, luckycrafts, starts on the 15th May. This means that it is clear that JJPinger and luckycrafts are not consecutive FPCs, and that they are seperated by BalockeyBuilds. However, on the list it appears that they are consecutive FPCs, which is incorrect. So unless JJPinger isn't the 599th curator and luckycrafts isn't the 601st curator, BalockeyBuilds is the 600th curator.
Purin2022 Mini User Icon.png Purin2022 | 💬Talk | 📝Contribs | 🐱Scratch 19:45, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
@jvvg — To add on to Purin2022's reply, I checked the revision history page, and there is no update for the 600th curator, BalockeyBuilds. You can see how the revision dates went from May 1st to May 15th, skipping May 8th (the first day of BalockeyBuilds' shift). Furthermore, the Wayback Machine also has many archives of the homepage when BalockeyBuilds was the curator, such as this one.
