April Fools 2015 Icons still usable?

Aren't the icons from April Fools 2015 still usable? I see people using _taco_ and _sushi_ a lot, and I've actually done it myself.
Tymewalk (talk | contribs) 18:57, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Yes, they are still usable even if it isn't April Fools Day. I tried it out myself and the icons appeared.

Meow discovery

This article was helpful, but how was _meow_ discovered? Also, should the changes in 2.0 be included?
OrcaCat (talk | contribs) 03:13, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

IDK; yes.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 08:21, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
Okay. Does anyone know?

Deleting comments

I don't think you can delete comments, even if you're the owner. The wiki said you could, though. What do you all think? Can you actually delete studio comments?
Rumanti (talk | contribs) 13:12, 11 January 2014 (UTC)

You can only delete your own comments in studios is you are manager or owner. Sorry for the really late reply!

Link to the Welcoming Comitee Studio

I think we should add an article that explains about the comments that contain the "@welcomingcomitee" words, because it does not linked to a user who has a @welcomingcomitee username instead.

But, there is a user of the same name that joined January 2021. [1]

Why isn't it editable?

I was going to add some more information about the censor system. *Eats pudding*

Sweetie68993 (talk | contribs) 16:38, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

It is currently protected / not editable by normal users (I cannot edit it either) because it is the current featured article, and so the article keeps its quality before there is another featured article.
Also, as a note, new discussions go at the bottom of a talk page, not the top.

Yes, it is protected through the end of the month due to being featured. If you want to suggest a change, you can copy the contents to your sandbox and make the edit there and then let us know (just add a reply to this thread) and we'll take a look.

Time between Comments

Comment_(website_feature)#Restrictions says 2 seconds between a comment, and using a bot I found that it has some element of randomness, but is about 3 seconds, not 2.
Dogsmakemehappy (talk | contribs) 18:52, 21 March 2021 (UTC)

This is likely due to network and processing delay, the actual delay between when the server has processed the original comment and you are allowed to post a new one is probably two seconds.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 02:21, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
Do we have proof? we could say between 2-3 seconds. Also, if it is network, is someone able to try it. post:5022356 (In the ATs) has instructions. change the number to 2000 rather then 3000 when it shows you how to change the number.

Paste

function hello(counter){ if(counter < 3){ setTimeout(function(){ counter++; let a = document.getElementsByName("content"); a[0].value = "testing posting using the console"; let b = document.getElementsByClassName("button small"); b[0].click(); sTime(counter); }, 2000) } } hello(0); into the consle (ctrl + shift + i)and then tell us if it worked, or if it told you not to post to fast (also, did it post 2 times or 3 times). This is to determine if it is 2 seconds, or about 3.

Also, I was running it on a very good computer, so I don't think it is because of network.

My idea for the citation in the first paragraph

I was thinking we could use this https://en.scratch-wiki.info/wiki/Report as the sentence is about reporting (website feature)

Should we add info about the Upcoming Database Work?

Yes Resolved (since 02:38, 19 August 2021 (UTC))

Hey guys! Since there will soon be an update on the comment database, should that be mentioned in the article?
ILikeProggraming123 (talk | contribs) 01:09, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

Yes, I think we should, as it's important in Scratch history.

Blank comments can't be posted by using a large number of food emojis in a comment unless the rtl character is used

So I just figured this out after experimenting with the characters. So the project projects:138444322 has a string that has an rtl character. I tested the food without the rtl character and it didn't let me post. So, you can't post the food without the rtl.

It doesn't have to be a "right-to-left isolate" character to be able to create a blank comment, something like U+FFF8 works too. Technically, the comment's not even blank, it's just invisible and has a width of 0. If you try copy-pasting where the character should be, it'll still let you copy. Also, the character may not even look blank to some people, as you can change your settings to make the character visible.
