I'm confused

I thought to be like a wiki admin you got to be like have years of experience? Am I just overthinking of how strict the requirements is or what?

@ENDYOURENITE Experienced Wikians are a level below admins. We typically promote admins from the existing Experienced Wikians. That being said we do have baseline account age and edit count requirements as detailed on the election page, and we may pre-screen candidates if we think any of them wouldn't be suitable due to lack of experience, difficulty following the rules or working with others, or anything of that sort.

@Jvvg Ahhhhhhhhhhhh alright. This make sense. Thanks for clarifying.

Ordering of users

I see that @Bigpuppy changed the ordering of users, moving myself (maybe I'm biased). Per the election rules, it does say that merely asking election coordinators for things is allowed, as long as you are willing to take no for an answer. So, I'd like to propose that users are ordered randomly, which I think would be more fair for everyone, allowing equal representation and not giving anyone an advantage for "being on the top". Thoughts?

@Mrsrec the list is in alphabetical order

It's still showing as the same order for everyone, though, with users on the top and bottom. Are you opposed to ordering randomly?
Mrsrec (talk | contribs) 13:18, 16 December 2025 (UTC)
@Mrsrec I'm not opposed to it, but that extension doesn't seem to let you randomise lists, only one thing

There is a historical precedent for ordering candidates alphabetically on the election page, so we will maintain that ordering for this election as well.

Site notice

Will there be a site notice like previous elections?
Mrsrec (talk | contribs) 15:37, 23 December 2025 (UTC)

@Mrsrec: Added.

Candidates aren't allowed to vote, right?

Can election candidates also take part in the voting process? My common sense is telling me that they can't because that's usually how elections work, but I don't see anything on the election page that says it's actually prohibited, so I just thought I'd double-check.

@minikiwigeek2: Candidates are permitted to vote.
bigpuppy talk ▪︎ contribs 02:09, 24 December 2025 (UTC)
@minikiwigeek2 You can choose your second and third favorite candidates so there is value in you voting.
