Scimonster (talk | contribs) 18:12, 23 April 2011 (UTC)- Thanks scimonster. I can make one for you if you want
Dazman (talk | contribs) 09:28, 24 April 2011 (UTC)- You're welcome.
- I don't need one yet, but I will eventually for my OS.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 10:48, 24 April 2011 (UTC)- Cool I'll get started immediately. What color?
Dazman (talk | contribs) 16:33, 24 April 2011 (UTC)- Scimonster what color do you want?
Dazman (talk | contribs) 08:39, 25 April 2011 (UTC)- I don't know yet, I'll drop you a message maybe next week.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 18:54, 25 April 2011 (UTC)- Please give me the info listed above and ill make it for scratch. I dont need the screeb resolution though because I know that scratch is 360x480 already
Dazman (talk | contribs) 04:20, 1 May 2011 (UTC)- When I start working on it again I'll drop you a line. :)
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 04:42, 1 May 2011 (UTC)- SO I've been working on some designs for your project. Here are example backgrounds: Link to Project. Just tell me the colors and the text and it will be done in no time. The link shows some examples that I whipped up in a few minutes.

About rejected accounts
Will they ever get a chance to come back? :S I feel sorry for them... they get rejected and then BLAM no chance after that.
Chrischb (talk | contribs) 23:09, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
- You can't apply more than once?
Dazman (talk | contribs) 01:45, 29 April 2011 (UTC)- No, you can't. :/
Jonathanpb (talk | contribs) 05:27, 29 April 2011 (UTC) - Well your account can always be put back on pending, but that doesn't really happen...
Chrischb (talk | contribs) 13:03, 29 April 2011 (UTC)- That's not fair IMO.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 08:49, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

- No, you can't. :/
- Wow, really? I remember Pecola1 was rejected, I think. He is a user now.
ProgrammingFreak (talk | contribs) 23:19, 8 May 2011 (UTC)- Don't forget to sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~); this way we know who you are and when you posted ;) I added your signature for you.
- Uh, Pecola1 posted on the Scratch forums about it, and I explained that the submission wasn't approved... so Pecola1 did another submission in a forum post :P It was fine, so I created the account.

JavaScript
I'm bringing this up again...
Can JS read and report info from a webpage?
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 05:01, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
- IT WILL ONLY WORK FOR YOU STILL
veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 22:41, 2 May 2011 (UTC)- I know. I'd just like the code, and other people can copy it. See here.

I made User:Scimonster/jsproj1.js using the code I got, but it didn't work when I tried to embed it. :/ Are JS pages not for embedding?

- Remove the HTML stuff and use this:
function get(url)
{
var response = null;
var connection = null;
if (navigator.appName == "Microsoft Internet Explorer")
connection = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
else
connection = new XMLHttpRequest();
try
{
connection.open("GET", url, false);
connection.send();
if(connection.readyState == 4) response = connection.responseText;
}
catch(e)
{
throw "ERROR: The remote host could not be found or the connection was refused.";
}
return response;
}
function onload()
{
var text = get('http://scratch.mit.edu/api/getprojectsbyusername/scimonster');
var array = text.split(":");
var content = "";
for (var i = 0; i < array.length; i++)
content += array[i] + "
";
document.getElementById("list").innerHTML = content;
}

Block Library: Can we make an article?
I don't use the wiki much so if I did anything wrong I apologize. This was brought up here. I'm not sure if a real anwser to the block library question was given.
SSBBM (talk | contribs) 13:22, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- We didn't get an official answer yet.
- Grr.
- I'd really like one; we could make a really cool one.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 15:11, 5 May 2011 (UTC)- Well it's a fairly big thing so I think it should definitely have an article...
WeirdF (talk | contribs) 15:43, 5 May 2011 (UTC)- So that's 3 supports. :)
- Is there any reason not to?
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 16:18, 5 May 2011 (UTC)- Not that I can think of...
WeirdF (talk | contribs) 17:31, 5 May 2011 (UTC)- Uh, I can't really decide, but if you want to, count me as a yes :P
Jonathanpb (talk | contribs) 21:56, 5 May 2011 (UTC)- We don't already have a block library O_o We NEED one.
Dazman (talk | contribs) 22:06, 5 May 2011 (UTC)- Wait What about the blocks in the table of contents? What if we just made a redirect?
Dazman (talk | contribs) 22:09, 5 May 2011 (UTC)- I think you're confused... we're talking about the epic block library in the Advanced Topics forum. I support the article! I might even start it if that's okay, it'll bring back old wiki memories xD
Chrischb (talk | contribs) 23:41, 5 May 2011 (UTC)- Check my sandbox. :D
Is it good?
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 12:04, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- Check my sandbox. :D
- This looks pretty cool! Good job!

User Pages
Should we make pages for users that have "done something extraordinary"? And they might not have a wiki user.
ProgrammingFreak (talk | contribs) 10:06, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- no. there are only 4 pages of users: kaj, scratch team, mods, and retired mods. the article wouldn't really have very much information, it would possibly become biased, and there isn't a clear way of deciding who would be worthy and who wouldn't.
Veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 15:58, 7 May 2011 (UTC)- There aren't any articles about mods and retired mods; it's unnecessary, and they're already listed in the Community Moderator article. :P
Chrischb (talk | contribs) 06:07, 8 May 2011 (UTC)- i meant that those two groups have their own articles.
Veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 15:15, 8 May 2011 (UTC) - What user has made such a huge contribution to scratch that its worth writing an article on the wiki about?
Dazman (talk | contribs) 06:34, 8 May 2011 (UTC)- Well, thats just the thing. I'm not sure. Hmm, there are probably some... idk. :P

Hey, maybe we could have pages like 'Featured Animator' and then have like a bio or something.
ProgrammingFreak (talk | contribs) 22:00, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- i vote no
Veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 00:00, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- i vote no
Doing that creates problems. Firstly, how do we choose who it is? There are hundreds of animations uploaded every week so finding the best animator would be impossible, same with games, or whatever categories you want. Secondly, even if we did find a good animator, it's only a matter of opinions if he/she is the best. This can create arguments, one user may say "Hey! How come he/she gets an article but I don't?" Thirdly, as I said earlier, it wouldn't just be animations, there would have to be other categories, and keeping all of these up-to-date would be hard. So basically, my vote is no.
WeirdF (talk | contribs) 16:37, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- I agree with WeirdF.
- Also, we have a page about this: Scratch Wiki:Scratchers and Projects don't deserve articles.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 19:44, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
Online Users
I think we should have a 'Online:' thing like on the forums. I have wondered lately if I'm a loner or not. So, it could be on the front page.
Thoughts?
ProgrammingFreak (talk | contribs) 23:24, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- i don't think you can do that with mediawiki. it would be nice, though.
Veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 00:01, 9 May 2011 (UTC)- +1.
- Also, please don't use characters other than letters and numbers in anchors; it dirties the URL. See here.

The Wiki Friend List
Yes, I said it. Wouldn't this be awesome? It would look just like the main website's. It would go to their user page.
So, does anyone like?
ProgrammingFreak (talk | contribs) 23:39, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- not possible without mediawiki addons.
Veggieman001 (talk | contribs) 00:01, 9 May 2011 (UTC) - This is a wiki, not a social networking site :P I don't think it's necessary... ^^ You could always make a friend list thingy on your userpage though.
Jonathanpb (talk | contribs) 06:18, 9 May 2011 (UTC)- You could always add a javascript code that checks if one of your friends I.P. addresses is online and then adds an image if he is.
Dazman (talk | contribs) 06:23, 9 May 2011 (UTC)- Did you write that in the right place? :P
- +1 to Jonathanpb.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 09:49, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
- Ye, Lucario did a friend list like that on his user page.
Chrischb (talk | contribs) 12:10, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

Time to add a new mod
I have recently found out Catch! wasn't added to the wiki. I know TACKLE was, can someone make an article for Catch! ?
Rdococ (talk | contribs) 14:51, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- Make it yourself!
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 15:33, 9 May 2011 (UTC)- 1+ Are you too lazy? :P If so, tell me what you want in there and I can make it. :D
