Candidates
apple502j (talk | contribs) — Hello Wikians, I'm an well-known apple, apple502j. Being an admin for more than two years on Japanese wiki, my knowledge on how to moderate Wiki, including ConfirmAccounts, is so huge. I look at Recent Changes almost every day using my free time and I'm sure I'm the best person for patrolling task. I have created many articles here and joined many discussions around the Wiki since two years ago. Also, my timezone is UTC+9; similar to Ken's, so I can help his jobs at the almost same time. Make the Wiki nice like an apple, by Voting Apple. Jammum (talk | contribs) — Hello, Wikians! It is a great honour to be a candidate for this EW election. I have been on the Scratch Wiki for nearly a year (at the time of writing this) made over a thousand edits, so I have enough experience. If I get elected, I will do many helpful actions, such as putting lots of effort into helping out and improving this wiki, answer everyone's questions and more. I will carefully read account requests and fix other's spelling and grammar. Finally, I will aim to be on this wiki daily and will only use new privileges for the greater good of the wiki. MClovers (talk | contribs) — Hi, I'm @MClovers! Thanks for choosing me! I've been on the Scratch wiki for over 2 years now! The wiki is not just a wiki but a whole community. I can manage communities. I have a community known as 'ShopBux'. It's an online community with an active following. I can get on the wiki on command. I correct users politely. I learn quickly so I can get to know the position. I love learning new things so I will enjoy this position. I understand the dedication required to be an EW. I will recommend the ideas of users to wiki staff. #VoteMCL if you want a voice! TenType (talk | contribs) — Hey there! My name's TenType. I have a lot of experience on the Scratch Wiki, such as cleaning up existing articles, helping users around the Wiki, fixing Wiki markup, and much more. Since I'm one of the most active users on the Wiki and moderate every edit that goes into Recent Changes, I believe I would be an excellent fit as an EW for patrolling, handling account requests, and maintaining the Wiki. Lastly, I consider myself to be a hard worker- meaning I would be great for repetitive tasks such as deleting unused/redirecting files. Vote TenType for EW!
- Nominations opened on October 5th.
- Nominations closed on October 12th, and the existing Experienced Wikians and Administrators ("election coordinators") decided on a list of candidates to run.
- The chosen candidates have one week to write speeches, with the deadline of October 19th.
- Voting opened on October 19th.
- Voting closed on October 26th, and the results were announced.
By nominating yourself to run in the election or voting in it, you agree to all of the following rules. (The phrase "election coordinator" refers to the existing Experienced Wikians and Administrators).
- The only advertising candidates may do is the speech on the candidates page
- The speech is limited to 108 words and may only contain text (no images, links, formatted text, etc.)
- The speech may not reference other candidates in any way - they are designed for the candidates to explain why they should be EWs, not why others shouldn't be.
- This means that advertising on the Community Portal, userpages, the Scratch website, etc. is not allowed.
- Any person who is a Wikian, had 50 mainspace edits before the election started, and has a good track record (including never blocked, never vandalized, etc.) may nominate themself.
- If a lot of people nominate themselves, then the election coordinators will choose some of them to run in the election (the exact definitions of "a lot" and "some" will be chosen as events warrant).
- Any Wiki contributor whose Wiki account was created before the beginning of nomination period may vote in the election (yes, we will check).
- No user may vote in the place of another user (i.e. everyone must be logged in as the user they are voting for).
- Only the election coordinators may play any sort of official role in the election. This includes...
- Announcing the results at any point (you're welcome to count them yourself, but you aren't allowed to post or comment about them until the election is over and the results have been officially posted)
- Saying anything about anyone's votes (if someone ineligible votes or otherwise violates these rules, do not deal with it yourself - get an election coordinator)
- Telling candidates that they have to change something because it breaks the rules (e.g. speech guidelines, forbidden advertising, etc.)
- Remember one of the core Wiki rules: If in doubt, ask before doing it.
Voting is closed. Voting used the Borda count system. In brief, voters ranked the candidates from 1 (most preferred) to n (least preferred).
