Scratch Week 2026, the sixth Scratch Week, began on May 4th and ended on May 8th to celebrate Scratch's 19th birthday. Like other Scratch Weeks, each day was represented by a studio on the Featured Studios section of the Front Page.[1] Scratch has done this for the last several years as a way to celebrate with the community.

Themes

Day 1 (Monday, May 4th)

Glow in the Dark: When the lights go out, colors transform, shapes feel more mysterious, and even the smallest bit of light can transform a dark space into something new and unique. Whether you’re creating neon landscapes, mysterious nighttime adventures, or glowing creatures, this is your chance to experiment with how things look and behave in the dark!

Day 2 (Tuesday, May 5th)

X Marks the Spot: Welcome to X Marks the Spot, where every clue leads to a new discovery and every path leads to adventure. In this studio, you might make a game to find buried treasure, tell the story of a lost explorer, or design a mysterious island full of surprises. Whether you’re inspired by treasure hunts, pirates, hidden maps, or secret discoveries, follow the clues and see where they lead.

Day 3 (Wednesday, May 6th)

Glitch Lab: Today’s theme is Glitch Lab, where things don’t always go according to plan and that’s exactly the point. Sometimes, unexpected behavior leads to the most interesting things. What happens when a project breaks? What if a bug in your project becomes the main feature? In this lab, nothing has to go as planned. You can bend the rules, flip expectations, and create projects where logic doesn’t always apply.

Day 4 (Thursday, May 7th)

To the Moon and Back: Welcome to To the Moon and Back, where we are launching beyond Earth and heading into the vast unknown of the universe. Space is full of mystery, wonder, and endless questions. What’s out there? What might we discover? And what kinds of stories are waiting to be told among the stars?

Day 5 (Friday, May 8th)

Party Time: Welcome to the final day of Scratch Week! After a week full of imaging, creating, and sharing, it’s time to come together and celebrate. We’re throwing a big birthday party for Scratch Cat, and you’re invited to join!
