The term could also refer to three different blocks:

• broadcast ( v) — a block that sends a message to other sprites
• broadcast ( v) and wait — a block that sends a message to other sprites and waits for all the triggered scripts to finish running
• when I receive [ v] — a hat block that runs its script when the selected message is sent by the Broadcast () block
