Hello Ken, just wondering about the testwiki, i have requested an account, and am wondering if i get accepted what does it take to get sysop rights? or is that something that takes a while, correct me if i am being annoying, kind regards,

Hello! I don't know if you heard about this yet, but geometric_ghast (aka Ihatr on Scratch) and I (4096bits) would like to collaborate with you to make a YouTube video about the Scratch Wiki and other's experiences. If you would like to participate, please reply to this message. Thank you! <br>

:Yo, bureaucrats are humans too! I'd love to - are you thinking of a documentary-type thing with interviews and stuff? or something else? Would definitely like to know what the big idea is :){{User:Kenny2scratch/sig}} 09:29, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
 +
::Yep, what you said! It will also include what the Scratch Wiki is. {{User:4096bits/Signature}} 12:58, 4 January 2021 (UTC)

:::Cool, how do I participate? Via voice call, for an audio interview? (Ihatr is able to do that now {{e|:)}}) Or just a textual Q&A? Or something else? :){{User:Kenny2scratch/sig}} 10:28, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

::::Voice call seems like the way to go! Ihatr's doing the editing. Once we get the questions ready, I'll let you know so we can start. {{User:4096bits/Signature}} 12:55, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
 +
:::::So, Ihatr doesn't feel comfortable sharing their voice, so we won't be able to do it that way. Are you able to record your voice answering each question in a Scratch project and sharing it? Thanks! {{User:4096bits/Signature}} 00:42, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

{{outdent|5}}You could maybe use scratch shops which do voice acting. My voice is kinda squeaky, so I won't use my voice :)<br> btw, video calls are not allowed on Scratch.<br>{{User:Lovecodeabc/Sig}} 01:11, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

:lovecodeabc: Ihatr and Ken have [unmoderated chat site] that was not shared through Scratch, which allows voice calling {{e|;)}} If Ken doesn't want to do this, we have a backup plan, don't worry {{e|:)}} {{User:4096bits/Signature}} 01:16, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

::You realize it's possible to ask questions in text and answer them in voice? Ihatr doesn't have to share their voice, they can just stay muted while I answer audially.{{User:Kenny2scratch/sig}} 11:22, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

::::::* In your own words, can you describe what the Scratch Wiki means for you?

::::::* Do you enjoy editing on the Scratch Wiki? Why?

::::::* What do you look for when editing a Scratch Wiki article?

Saturday the 16{{th}} is fine with me, assuming that's what you meant. I gather I'm to answer these questions audially then, and prepare my answers in the meantime?{{User:Kenny2scratch/sig}} 04:56, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
 +
:Sure, you can do that if you want :){{User:4096bits/Signature}} 12:57, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
 +
::Oop, change of plans ken. There's some things going on at my house right now, meaning that I probably won't be able to do the voice call. Could you potentially prerecord the audio and upload it somewhere? Sorry again.<br>{{User:Geometric_ghast/Signature}} 02:05, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
 +
:::Rip, no worries. I'd prefer a sort of live interview format just because it lets you ask follow-up questions and I like talking about myself... so if you have a different date/time you're available, and if you don't mind, I'd rather move to that. If you forsee yourself having other commitments for a longer while then I don't mind recording the answers, though. Let me know in either case.{{User:Kenny2scratch/sig}} 13:55, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

== Ugh, second message! ==
:You're way ahead of yourself - at least according to your account request, you speak no languages other than English, and that's one of the crucial parts of editing an other language wiki. Becoming sysop (at least [[User talk:Kenny2scratch/Permalinks#Would you like to get involved in the international Scratch-Wikis?|in my case]]), in particular on the test wiki, takes a general knack of international culture, and ideally a strong intuitive familiarity with MediaWiki.

:Thanks for reminding me about the test wiki, though - I haven't checked it recently because I've been flattened by schoolwork. I appreciate your willingness to help, but at the moment it would seem you don't have the skills we're looking for (which, of course, is not to say that you can't acquire them!).{{User:Kenny2scratch/sig}} 13:51, 11 November 2019 (UTC)

[[User:Kenny2scratch/Project Guides/Python Slash Commands API Reference|This page]] was created by you in your userspace. However, it mentions a Python library that involves Discord. I do not know if the page would count against Scratch rules (this wiki follows them as well) and would have to be deleted, but I think mentioning Discord is not allowed on Scratch (at least on the non-forum parts). {{User:Jammum/Signature}} 15:14, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
 +
:"it mentions a Python library" dude the whole page is ''the'' documentation for the library.
 +
:* We have a literal [[S:DISCORD]] page
 +
:* The level of CG scrutiny applied here is about equivalent to the forums, since the two of us go hand in hand
 +
:* I suspect the removals of even bare mentions of it are done only be a few overzealous ST members that think names have more power than they do
 +
:* I deliberately didn't put the actual name of the library in the title
 +
:I considered all this before creating it. Thank you very much for bringing it up when I specifically didn't want to draw attention to it. Goodbye.{{User:Kenny2scratch/sig}} 15:23, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

一点儿 (BTW, i think), how did you figure out your milestones? <br/>{{User:12944qwerty/Templates/Sig}} 00:32, 13 November 2019 (UTC)

Ok so, I am trying to make it so that [[User:XII_RH1N0]] can edit my userpage, when I tried to add t|open userpage with 2 {'s on each end of the t|open userpage and hit "save" on my page, it told me I was trying to use bad words and I don't know why. I have it sceenshotted just in case. I am just confused. Also, I've tried a couple times and I still don't understand how to have it so people can edit my userpage. Is there anyway U could help? <scratchsig>StormMaker2395</scratchsig> 04:20, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
:(一点儿, or 一點兒 in traditional, means "a little" - "by the way" is 順便說說, or 顺便说说 in simplified.)
+
:You're not using the template right anyway. You need to put <code><nowiki>{{open userpage}}</nowiki></code>, not <code><nowiki>{{t|open userpage}}</nowiki></code>, on the userpage you want to open. I know why the filter triggered, but I think it's moot as long as you use the template properly.{{User:Kenny2scratch/sig}} 07:32, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
:I just keep track of them as they come up - [[Special:Editcount/Kenny2scratch]] lists individual edit counts for each namespace. Additionally, when I actually pass a milestone I don't usually hit it spot on, so I count back in [[Special:Contributions/Kenny2scratch|my contribs]] to find the edit that actually pushed me over.{{User:Kenny2scratch/sig}} 01:35, 13 November 2019 (UTC)

== Scratch Wiki Project ==
 +

 +
Hi! I'm making a project all about the wiki (How to use, how to edit, etc.)! Would you like to help out in a collaboration? I also want to invite other editors, but I'm not sure. Perhaps we can ask in the studio? I don't think I'm going for an animation, btw. More like a guide I guess... If you're too busy, it’s okay, just asking! Also, I think it would be nice to add our own thoughts. :)<scratchsig>MitFieldatdawn</scratchsig> 05:35, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

:I don't see how this is any different from the [[S:WELCOME|Welcome tutorial]].{{User:Kenny2scratch/sig}} 13:59, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
 +
::I see, but that is a page. I'm trying to make a project. Also, it's okay if you don't want to. You don't have to be part of the callob, but can please, at least give be some tips on it. Also, it don't have to be just for contributors. <scratchsig>MitFieldatdawn</scratchsig> 00:41, 16 February 2021 (UTC)
 +
:::Ah, you mean a Scratch project. I thought you meant it in the more general sense ("something to be worked on"). I'd still recommend looking at the Welcome tutorial for source material, as well as potentially the [[S:CHEATSHEET|cheatsheet]], at least for the part that ''is'' aimed at contributors. For the part aimed at Scratchers, it's admin policy not to provide any help with the account request process, so you'll have to consult others who are not admins if you want material related to that. Feel free to ask me more specific questions about anything else.{{User:Kenny2scratch/sig}} 11:41, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

Hi, I was thinking about making a page on how to effect Scratch, like telling ST to change something. Is that too braod? I'm not sure if I should make this page or not. Do you have some ideas? Thanks.
 +
Also, I wasn't quite succesful at making the project on the wiki, so it's inactive right now. I don't think I'll need your help for a while.<scratchsig>MitFieldatdawn</scratchsig> 07:45, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

:I think there's not enough that can be written about it for a full page, but you could consider making an [[:Category:FAQ|FAQ]] page about it.{{User:Kenny2scratch/sig}} 10:58, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

:It seems you've figured out how to revert it. However, assuming you're talking about [[:File:Avery Alicorn's PFP.png]], I don't see why - I can't detect any visual difference in quality (no change in resolution, no visible blurring/pixelation). Unless you can point out a specific visible difference, I'm going to ask you to revert it back to the compressed version - especially if this is going to be used in a custom signature or the like, minimizing the filesize minimizes page load times.{{User:Kenny2scratch/sig}} 03:05, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

 +
</span>
 +
:{{collapse top|1=<span style="font-size: 140%; font-weight: bold">Here's your answer:</span>}}It's actually pretty simple. I'll show you an example:
 +
Typing this:<br>
 +
<code><nowiki><div style= " class="plainlinks" title="Hello world">ABC 123</div></nowiki></code><br>
 +
Outputs the following:
 +
<div style= " class="plainlinks" title="Hello world">ABC 123</div>
 +
(hover over the text with your mouse to see it)<br/>
 +
Just like with normal <code><nowiki><div></nowiki></code> tags, you can apply [[wikipedia:Wikipedia:Formatting|formatting]] to the text, as follows:
 +
Typing this:<br/>
 +
<code><nowiki><div style= " class="plainlinks" title="Hello world">'''ABC 123'''</div></nowiki></code><br/>
 +
Outputs the following:
 +
<div style= " class="plainlinks" title="Hello world">'''ABC 123'''</div>
 +
(hover over the text with your mouse to see it)<br/>
 +
You can also put links into your text:
 +
Typing this:<br/>
 +
<code><nowiki><div style= " class="plainlinks" title="Hello world">[[User:1a3c5e7g9i/Squidward's Game|Squidward's Game]]</div></nowiki></code><br/>
 +
Outputs the following:
 +
<div style= " class="plainlinks" title="Hello world">[[User:1a3c5e7g9i/Squidward's Game|Squidward's Game]]</div>
 +
(hover '''NEXT TO''' the text with your mouse to see it)<br/>
 +
You can also put images (and templates!) in your text:<br/>
 +
Typing this:<br/>
 +
<code><nowiki><div style= " class="plainlinks" title="Hello world">{{E|meow}}</div></nowiki></code><br/>
 +
Outputs the following:
 +
<div style= " class="plainlinks" title="Hello world">{{E|meow}}</div>
 +
(hover over the image with your mouse to see it)<br/>
 +
You can put anything you can put in a divider tag into your text that will generate the "title" you set when hovered over. The "title" can only be plain text, but emojis are also allowed.
 +
Here's an example of text with an emoji in its "title":<br/>
 +
<div style= " class="plainlinks" title="😎">This text is cool</div><br/>
 +
:{{collapse bottom}}
 +
<div style="vertical-align:center;font-family:Courier New, monospace" class="plainlinks" title="Hi, feel free to read here or ask on my talk page! Yes, I'm talking through your mouse. A lot of people do that.">
 +
:I hope this helped!

Hi! I have to say that your userpage was very impressive. When I first loaded the webpage I was wondering if this was still part of the Wiki :P Could I ask how you managed to create the sidebars at the bottom left and right corners of my screen? Thanks!<scratchsig>MasterofTheBrick</scratchsig> 07:42, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
 +
:You can look at the source code for each of them (edit, but do not save, [[User:Kenny2scratch/Sidebar|left]] and [[User:Kenny2scratch/Sidebox|right]]) to attempt to read my horrible markup, but the general idea is have a element like so:
 +
:<pre><div style="position: fixed; bottom: 0; left: 0;">...content...</div></pre>
 +
:That places the "...content..." 0 pixels away from the bottom and left of the screen, no matter where it's scrolled to. The rest of it is just styling - you can look up tutorials on HTML and CSS to figure it out.{{User:Kenny2scratch/sig}} 09:30, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
