Welcome!

Kenny2scratch logo.jpgWelcome to the Scratch Wiki! I look forward to the useful edits you'll make and hope you'll have fun here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page, where you can talk about the Wiki or even ask personal questions! If you need quick help with wiki markup, take a look at Scratch Wiki:Cheatsheet. You might want to go to Category:Articles to Expand to find pages that need editing. I get my inspiration from Special:RecentChanges however, so looking at that helps too. See you around, Jedibrine;

Welcome!

Welcome Jedibrine!
Hello there Jedibrine! Welcome to the Wiki!
If you have any suggestions for the Wiki, just ask on the Community Portal!
When I first joined, I used this sheet to help me get started.

If you need any help:

Couple Tips if I may:
Be sure to check your watchlist often. You automatically watch a page when you edit it. If you check your watchlist, you will know if someone replied to you. Or you can check the Recent Changes.
Hope to See you SOON!

About files

Hey, I saw your reupload of File:Jedibrinelogo.png - it looks like you were trying to change the description? FYI, that's not how you do it. MediaWiki file uploading is kind of a mess, but the way it works is like this:

  1. When the file is first uploaded, the text you put in the "description" box is used as both the file page's contents and the file upload comment.
  2. After the file has already been uploaded, you change the file page by just editing it like a normal page.
  3. If you want to change the file itself, then you reupload. In this case, the "description" box is only used as the edit summary.

Does that make more sense?

Yeah thanks! So should I delete the old image?
Jedibrine (talk | contribs) 03:44, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
...I don't think you can delete previous versions of images, but I can, so I've just Yes Done that for you.

Don't Check Minor Edits on Talks

Especially when replying. Minor edits just mean that the WikiMonitor won't notice te edits.
12944qwerty Logo.png 12944qwerty  Talk  Contribs  Scratch  14:54, 17 January 2019 (UTC)

You can use minor edits on talk pages! The main use for them is if you are editing a message you won't get the notice that you forgot to sign. + WM won't false trigger.
Jakel181 (talk | contribs) 15:35, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
Lol, saw your mistake (both). The second one is your summary, it said proposed instead of purpose.
12944qwerty Logo.png 12944qwerty  Talk  Contribs  Scratch  16:14, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
Umm I don't know what you mean by the other comments but I'll uncheck the minor edits from talk pages
Jedibrine (talk | contribs) 16:17, 17 January 2019 (UTC)

Please don't make several edits in a short amount of time

Hello, I'm WikiMonitor, a bot that patrols the Recent Changes. This is just a friendly reminder that you should try to avoid making a lot of edits to one page in a short amount of time. Specifically, you made a lot of edits (6 in the last hour) to User:Jedibrine recently. Please use the "Show preview" button before submitting edits to prevent this in the future. Thanks!
This message was sent by an automated bot run by jvvg. You can contact him on his talk page with any concerns.

WikiMonitor (talk | contribs) 02:38, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
K sure wow lots of bots are messaging me umm just figuring out some stuff that didn't look good later and wanted opinions from a friend for my wiki profile :P
Jedibrine (talk | contribs) 02:49, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
Making a lot of edits clogs up recent changes though. You should use "Show preview" as much as possible to make sure your edits look how you want.
jvvg (talk | contribs) 03:29, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
Ok I see, I'll use more of Show Preview. I'm having problems with designing the CSS and making a fixed navbar at the top so yeah :)
Jedibrine (talk | contribs) 03:38, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
To make a fixed navbar, it should have:
position:fixed;left:0;bottom:0
The left and bottom can be changed to meet your needs.
Just remember not to block any content.
12944qwerty Logo.png 12944qwerty  Talk  Contribs  Scratch  03:43, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
Do I put that in <style=""> on the page or in the .css subpage? Will coding the subpage in CSS then using classes to edit things on my page work? Oh noh i just broke the Scratch Wiki xD Everything became black (the navbar and all the links and all of the text) and it actually looks cool
Jedibrine (talk | contribs) 03:47, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
Why do you have a css subpage?
12944qwerty Logo.png 12944qwerty  Talk  Contribs  Scratch  03:54, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
I was following the Help:CSS instructions
Jedibrine (talk | contribs) 04:00, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Give me the source code. I'll see what I can do...
12944qwerty Logo.png 12944qwerty  Talk  Contribs  Scratch  04:05, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

.navbar{
  display: block;
  color: white;
  text-align: center;
  padding: 14px 16px;
  text-decoration: none;
  list-style-type: none;
  margin: 0;
  padding: 0;
  width: 100%;
  overflow: hidden;
  background-color: black;
  border-right: 1px solid white
  position: fixed;
  top: 0;
}

.navbar:hover {
  background-color: white;
  color: black;
}

I think I used something like this for another CSS project... Link: User:Jedibrine/scratchwikiskin2.css
Jedibrine (talk | contribs) 04:10, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

And the link for your subpage.
12944qwerty Logo.png 12944qwerty  Talk  Contribs  Scratch  04:13, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
I think I did it, but it is slightly broken. A fixed bar does show up at the top now but I used <style> instead of the subpage. How do we use the subpage
Jedibrine (talk | contribs) 04:19, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
I don't know, this is new to me. I am trying to figure it out. You can ask ken though. He should know.
12944qwerty Logo.png 12944qwerty  Talk  Contribs  Scratch  04:24, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
Oh ok umm I think I got it, I'm just trying to add borders now :P
Jedibrine (talk | contribs) 04:30, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

Nice page! Just a Tip!

You're page blocks the content and has text that takes up unnecessary space. You can solve this by moving the boxes down (to the corners), and putting the text in:
<span title="TEXT HERE">CONTENT YOU WANT IT ON</span>
This will do the following:

HOVER. This way,, the text doesn't take up so much space.
12944qwerty Logo.png 12944qwerty  Talk  Contribs  Scratch  22:09, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

What content am I blocking? Is it just my zoom (90% on Chrome)? Sorry I don't understand, I'll edit it and you can make sure it's correct. Do I move the sidebars? How do I use span to change them?
Jedibrine (talk | contribs) 01:38, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
I meant that the mouse text should be on the sidebars, not on the botom bars. And you shouuld move the sidebars down to the bottom corners like mine and ken's.
You are blocking the boxes on the left that says Tools, Navigation, and For Editors.
12944qwerty Logo.png 12944qwerty  Talk  Contribs  Scratch  19:30, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
Oh ok. I didn't think I was covering because of my zoom

How did you do it?
12944qwerty Logo.png 12944qwerty  Talk  Contribs  Scratch  16:55, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
LOL yes it is. Add it to your page! My user page isn't loading right now, so just edit and copy it (it is in a div with [[File:hairisonurscreen.png]]). Size it to 25px and you can add a hover note too! :D

Jedibrine (talk | contribs) 17:38, 19 January 2019 (UTC)

I meant the chinese letters all over 'annoying' on ken's post.
12944qwerty Logo.png 12944qwerty  Talk  Contribs  Scratch  18:34, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
Oh ok umm they aren't chinese they are just the special symbols: ¿↔‡≠₳₦₤₯₡⅔²♥¥₮ somehow layed over annoying... annoying IS annoying
Jedibrine (talk | contribs) 18:59, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
Actually, they're diacritics like tͤͪͣͥhͬͫͯͮeͤͬͧsͤͨͮͯeͫͪͩ. But I just used the first search result for "zalgo" (which I will not link here because it swears), cranked it up to maximum, and disabled middle zalgo, and got that.

04:36, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
Oh nice, looked it up anyway but very interesting. Can't you just search "diametric text generator" instead though?
Jedibrine (talk | contribs) 05:09, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

The hair is linked to the file. To get rid of this just add link= right before the ]]. This is what it should look like:
<span style="position:fixed; padding: 50px;" title="This hair will not go away">
[[File:Hairisonurscreen.png|25px|link=]]</span>

12944qwerty Logo.png 12944qwerty  Talk  Contribs  Scratch  16:33, 28 January 2019 (UTC)

♥ A Little Welcome ♥

Wiki icon.png Hey there! Welcome to the Wiki, Jedibrine! Wiki icon.png

I hope you can make lots of helpful edits. Remember to check out the new page policies and especially the guidelines. The Wiki can be a little tricky in the beginning - I'm still making lots of mistakes. Mainly remember to include a summary of what you did with your edits and use a signature at the end of a reply/new topic on talk pages only. Don't worry; you'll get the hang of things eventually!

Wishing you lots of luck, EIephant_Lover
