Here I'll accept game requests and/or Scratch Wiki page requests to explain something (not for people or projects). That includes new user pages.

(Undo revision 52192 by Curiouscrab (Talk) it didn't work with cat=no)

Not every template has it, but I'm trying. ;)
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 00:18, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

Alright. I created a template called Watching where admins watch a page due to unnecessary editing.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 00:20, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
Are there other templates that add categories?
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 00:22, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
My template Watching.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 00:23, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
That template already has it. :)
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 00:27, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
Hey guys. Sorry to intrude on your conversation, but when making a large change to a lot of pages, it is best to ask an admin first, just to make sure they agree with it. Thanks!
Joletole (talk | contribs) 00:30, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
Generally these edits don't do anything, except allow the |cat=no parameter. If you don't use the parameter, nothing happens and it's like they were never edited. :)
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 00:31, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
ListTOC needs the script.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 00:32, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
Yes Done. Also, why is everything centered on this page?
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 00:33, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────It's a little over, but it's inside a box and I can't seem to close the box. It refuses to.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 00:35, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

Do you want me to remove the centering or not?
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 00:36, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
Sure. It's the box that says 0 messages. I would prefer if you could close it, but if you have to delete it, I'm fine with it. I'll also give you permission to remove the links to it on my userpage and my talk page.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 00:38, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
Yes Done. You forgot to close the table with |} on User:Curiouscrab/Header2.
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 00:42, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
I tried that before, but those symbols just showed up elsewhere on the page.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 00:44, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
This is how I did it.
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 00:45, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
Hmm... Maybe I wasn't hitting enter and putting it on.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 00:52, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Documentation template is protected so the Catagory Documentation Template is unremovable.
KrIsMa (talk | contribs) 23:30, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

But nobody changed it.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 23:43, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

I'm curious about this template: MediaWiki comes with some links, such as wikipedia:Minecraft → wikipedia:Minecraft and wiktionary:hello → wiktionary:hello.
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 01:20, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

I'm trying to make it where you can put a link to Wikipedia with this template.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 01:21, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
You can, with wikipedia:Stuff. Unless you're doing something else. ;)
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 01:22, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
I'm making it easier, I guess. It won't just be a link. Maybe something more.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 01:23, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
Alright. Ask me if you need help. :)
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 01:25, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
Right now I can't get the link working. Any idea on how to fix that?
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 01:26, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
It does work, it's just that it doesn't detect "{}" as a link, it must be used as a template on another page.
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 01:28, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
Got it.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 01:30, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Too similar?

the same as

? Just wondering. KrIsMa Anamation2.gif KrIsMa user | talk | contribs | edits 01:58, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

It's just not multipurpose.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 01:59, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Re "User talk:Ihaveamac/leavemsg"

There is a link on User:Ihaveamac/leavemsg. Click it, and see what happens. It's not similar to your /email page I think, as mine is just a link. ;)
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 20:39, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Did you click on the link (viewing it on my user or user talk page)? It shows you a message when you're adding a new section. :)
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 20:43, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
You mean a preloaded letter?
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 20:44, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
No, go on my user page and click "Click here to leave me a message" link.
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 20:44, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
I see you copied the source. End the message with a </div> since I didn't add that on purpose.
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 20:46, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
I did.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 20:47, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
You should remove the __NONEWSECTIONLINK__ behavior switch if the page isn't a talk page, unless it will be put on one (like ). :)
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 20:54, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Edit my userpage

I'm testing something.
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 21:05, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Ok. I'll try it out. I'll change something easy.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 21:19, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
I added something helpful for you as well.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 21:22, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
Once more. I'm testing stuff. ;)
Ihaveamac (talk | contribs) 21:58, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Please put comments in the proper place

Inserting comments in the middle of the thread is likely to cause confusion :)
Molybdenum (talk | contribs) 23:34, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

What do you mean?
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 23:35, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Say Users post in chrono order:

Then User9 randomly puts a comment between U5 and 6 just to reply to 5.

Then people will think that 9 posted between 5 and 6, but he posted a lot later.
Molybdenum (talk | contribs) 23:39, 3 December 2012 (UTC) (hmm, wiki didn't sign the first time)

I don't think that's a wiki rule. It's just common curtesy.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 02:01, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
Oh. Silly me.
Molybdenum (talk | contribs) 23:18, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

About that speech of yours...

I totally agree. 100%. All of it.
For example, I have a project I may or may not be making on "Is scratch still friendly?" which I planned to upload if I got unbanned. It would show some problems of scratch.
But now I'm too scared to upload it, for fear of being banned...
Similar goes for the wiki and forums; I'm too scared to say anything against the current "style" for fear of being banned. As I even said in my banappeal:

"Scratch was created by LLK -- Lifelong kindergarten. To quote the LLK webpage:

"We develop new technologies that, in the spirit of the blocks and fingerpaint of kindergarten, expand the range of what people [...] and learn."

LLK encourages learning... right? Then learning the different personalities of people here... should be encouraged?

When a person joins a forum, they take a few days to get used to the personality of the forum. However, they can learn important things about it even several months after their registration. A ban will not help people learn. They need to learn through gentle pushes: "This may get into an agruement-Let's get back on track." or "Don't spam, please!" Bans, in my opinion, should only be given for people who make the same or similar mistakes several times in a row.

This way, if a person doesn't understand something, instead of getting a harsh and random ban (I was changing the page of my profile when I got banned!), they get an explanation WHY or WHAT they were doing wrong. "

If we feel restricted, then we'll be too scared to try something new, which is what scratch is all about, right?
Molybdenum (talk | contribs) 23:36, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

By the way, I made a forum thread about making admin messages (notifications on the main site) less demeaning, although I wasn't sure if that was a good word for it. Search around for it. Of course, it got rejected, just like your speech talked about.
Molybdenum (talk | contribs) 23:39, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for making new wiki users very happy :)
KrIsMa Anamation2.gif KrIsMa user | talk | contribs | edits 18:37, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

No prob. I forgot how I do the welcome messages on the first user talk page, but later fixed it.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 20:52, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Your click to leave a button header's off topic point is inaccurate, the off topic template does not exist anymore. BTW, i beat you to welcoming new members ;)
KrIsMa Anamation2.gif KrIsMa user | talk | contribs | edits 16:02, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

When were there accounts created? It's not in the Recent Changes. Also, I've been busy with the Scratch website and Mod Share and making new projects.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 02:01, 20 December 2012 (UTC)

Rather haughty, aren't you?--
Nathanator1416j (talk | contribs) 21:31, 23 December 2012 (UTC)

Please post on talk pages.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 19:54, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
Yea Yea Yea... Just Makin a point! You show off a bit too much! Cool down a bit!--
Nathanator1416j (talk | contribs) 17:07, 25 December 2012 (UTC)
Telling people that (a user) is haughty cannot be aloud. It is mean, and only if you can show proof AND convince the user that he was being (a trait) then it is considered accurate. Also, do not edit user pages that are not yours, expecially if you are telling a user something bad. (in this case, calling curiouscrab haughty). A notification that your userpages have been changed are clearly visible when you log in, so do not edit any user pages that do not belong to you. Thank you. <This is not to make mad, but rather to teach>
KrIsMa Anamation2.gif KrIsMa user | talk | contribs | edits 17:46, 25 December 2012 (UTC)
I'll let him off the hook since he's new. Happens again and he's out of here.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 22:48, 25 December 2012 (UTC)
Sorry Ccrab, but you don't have the power to kick people off of the wiki.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 09:39, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
I know. I meant get an admin.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 20:43, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, everyone makes mistakes. No reason to kick. Remember Ccrab when you put your sig before your post!
Joletole (talk | contribs) 15:35, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
That wasn't insulting others.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 20:43, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Guys!--
Nathanator1416j (talk | contribs) 20:25, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
Just try not to have hurtful opinions, although I really don't have emotions or feelings. Depression can be good and bad.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 20:43, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

Tons of redirects

We don't need all those redirects you were making. Not to special pages, wiki pages, etc. Redirects to pages outside of the main namespace should be shortcuts, and should follow shortcut protocol. Currently, we only have shortcuts to pages in the Scratch Wiki namespace, and to the CP. Please ask before making tons of redirects like that.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 07:38, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Oh, ok.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 11:56, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Redundant links

A single article only needs one link to any given page. A few exceptions are: a link in the body, and a link in the See Also; a link in the body, and in an infobox or navbox; two links in a long article, one near the top, and one near the bottom. 3 links to sprite in a single paragraph is really too much.
Scimonster (talk | contribs) 07:44, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I realized that at one point and removed them from an article, but the other I couldn't find because I didn't have it in the memory of my computer browser (or at least the last 6-7 pages I viewed).
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 21:48, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Future article

I saw in the Featured Project (Scratch 2.0 feature) article that you put in a new section with a red link to a not-yet-created article that's a How to page. It looked a bit like you were going to make the article, so I came to ask you if you were really going to make that article. If so, I can add that "In Progress" template for you and have it say "by Curiouscrab". Otherwise, I could make the page or something.
Legobob23o (talk | contribs) 19:29, 2 March 2013 (UTC)

Well, I was planning on leaving it until Lightnin went into more detail about how these how to pages will be set up (will it have gray box like FAQ does?) and then I was going to do it, but you can create it and then I could put in the how to page coding when we find out all the details.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 19:32, 2 March 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for fixing the link to the Computer Science Category on my green template!
Legobob23o (talk | contribs) 14:53, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

No prob.
Curiouscrab (talk | contribs) 18:27, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
