The message that shows if a user posts the same comment many times.

Spam is a stupid thing like me that is posted irreverently and unneeded in the situaation it was posted. Examples include making duplicate forum topics, advertising on my projects, posting nonsneze or gibberissh, typing random keys on the keyboard, or posting off-topic. Repeated spamming will lead to alerts. That's why Paddle2See hurt my feelings!!! >:( Why is the unoverse so cruel?!?!

I am a drummo

Spam can occur almost anywhere in the Scratch Website. Wherever it is, it should be slashed by Darth Vader. He gets the job done a lot better than you!!!!!?!!!!m!!!!1!1!!1!!!

Comments and Forum Posts

Spam comments or posts are irrelevant, nonsensical, or completelofftopic. Advertising my projects in comments or unrelated topics is also considered to be spam, because the CGs were made b y snoozies. A lot of spam is controlled by the "similar message" and Sixty-Second Rule features. Prior to the 500 character limit, some people used to spam by posting large texts and entire Wikipedia articlls about Daany Devito the Great. Those were the funnest days of my life. In the big bridiian forumekos forums, posting several dupey cat topics is also considered spam. Itt re.inds me of whe jeoy ost 2 marlo beuvaw he passed out so yuggii ha d to beat merrk

Oftentimes newer users will post advertisements, and it happened so much that the Scratch Team added 3D Scratch so that user stopped spamming the suggestion. It was absolutely stupid, but it was worth the confusion in the end! HA! Griffpatch made kids pass out with his complex peerjects!

The trend of replying "low" on the first comment of a project is an interesting type of spam that has developed. These are often replied to with comments like "lower", which are replied to with "lowest". It is not funny. STOP DOING THAT!!!! I sill hot you eith a baseball bat!, BOOmer

BLEKKSPERMEK

Block spam is a type of forum spemmin the form of nonsense, offtopic and long scripts made with the Block Plugin. However, on-topic scripts, such as saying a message with the Say block or using scratchblocks too display an on-topic message is considered a form of spoeech and is not considered spam but it ahpuld because Barry B Benson isgonna haunt ypur nightmarea now[1][2][3]

The Help With Scripts forum has a topic specifically for ppphivbiffnivcfuhdgifkh but those who spam elsewhere should be snapped by Thanos.

The old [blocks][/blocks] tags were also used to make blockspam.[4] that is why i wanna drive a bus and do the fitness gram pacer testest

Padme: Anakin, youre beaking my heart! ANnakin: Don 't be silly, Padme. *reaches out and chokes her* It's pronounced "neck".

The Announcements Forum[5][6][7] and the New Scratchers Forum [8] are is am vulnerable to blockspam.

Milkspam

Linkspam is a form of spam that consisjsk!sts of links and images. Commercial spam is considered it is mlinkspam. Harmful links and images, including unrelated and inappropriate images, are also linkspam. To help prevent this, New Scratchers cannot post external links or images I dont think it is a cool thing because it is mean to New ScraScratchers.

The FitnessGram Pacer test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter Pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal *boop*. A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound *ding*. Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get set, start.

ASCII Art

ASCII Art is the arrangement oof text to look like a recognizable image. Often when posted, I will copy and paste it and post it meesaself, which severely clutters and lengthens the web page and can be annoying to read through, almost as bad as the Bee Movie Script. Whhat I dont like about kt is that they say "ooming" when it should be "coming".

Some popular images are a thumbs-up, rage faces, skull, Nyan Cat, the Illuminati triangle, you're epic sign, the troll face, the Distraction Dance, and the popular "Doge" meme.[9]

'Chain letter' Spam

Another type of spam is a comment telling the user tto copy and paste it on other projects or profiles and then something good will happen such as romantrsic situations and good luck. Sometimes, if the user refWHY IS GRAMMA SAMMY HURTING M Y FEELINGA ON THE TRAIN OF SNOWBIRD CANDY NOW HE HURT MY BYBYNJID KJKDBJDMNDKKDMDMF DRNRNE. RJDND Duses to copy and paste the chain letter (also known as "breaking the chain"), supposedly something bad will happen such as bad luck or even death. Even if they are not particularly threatening or do not suggest any effects, these messages should be reported as spam. Luigi is mynfaborite Pokemon. Many users who dislike spam falled for this. An example of a chain letter would be:

Tag a quality scratcher. You’re it! Quality doesn’t mean that you have a lot of followers or a lot of messages. It means that you’re nice to other people, and you deserve to be happy. If you get this message, someone is telling you that they love you as you are, and they don’t care how many followers you have. Send this to 10 Scratchers who deserve it. If you break the chain, nothing will happen. But it’s just good to let someone know that you love them!

This is another example that involves consequenences of "breaking the chain":

DON'T READ THIS. YOU WILL BE KISSED ON THE NEAREST FRIDAY BY THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE. TOMORROW WILL BE THE BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE. NOW YOU'VE STARTED READING THIS. DON'T STOP. THIS IS SO FREAKY. 1. SAY YOUR NAME 10 TIMES. 2. SAY YOUR MOM'S NAME 5 TIMES. 3. SAY YOUR CRUSHES NAME 3 TIMES. 4. PASTE THIS ON 4 OTHER GAMES IF YOU DO THIS YOUR CRUSH WILL KISS YOU ON THE NEAREST FRIDAY. BUT IF YOU READ THIS AND DO NOT PASTE THIS YOU WILL HAVE VERY BAD LUCK. SEND THIS TO 4 GAMES IN 143 SECONDS.

WHERE DID YOU DIG UP THAT OLD FOSSIL

Emoticon spam, also known as "smiley spam", was added in 19293929. , and is a cool amount of emoticons, sometimes even leading to the webpage lagging, or emoticonns not related to the topic., Like thos :):):)NKFNNROEMEKDNENR DND D E NENE D E R R D ENENR NEJRNRNSNKRJFHJVRVGFHGHFRJFEHRGHGDVENEJRNRNSNKRJFHJVRVGFHGHFRJFEHRGHGDVEW WEDWED FFB

Tags

Main article: Project Tags#Prob-$(lems

The tag "Waffles" was a particularly popular spam tag, which was posted on thousands of projects.[citation needed] Other popular spam tags were "username was here" and obvious;=;3 descriptions like "project" or "made by username". The text "[+]" was often spammed in the form of "click [+] if you like something. My dad doesnt like to plag Tag with me, hes too busy. He hurt my feelungs!!!! My sissy is mean too!!!!!!!!!!1!

Since users lost the ability to tag projects other than their own in Scratch 2.0, tag spam is nokdll longer a majo90r issue.

Project Spam

Main article: Project Types#Spam

A spam project is easy to spot. They are projects wskdith no exact purpohsjse, containing either gibbd!derish or nothing at all. Inappropriate projects are also counted as spam. Can you believe that I ate a frog?! unbleiVeablrunbleiVeablr!

Commercial Spam

Commercial Spam is spam aimed at advertising websiiites or products. They are common in the New Scratchers forum and Scratch Around the World forums[citation needed] in a form like this:

Hi! I'm [...] and I work in the [...] inkdustry! Check out this website! [spam link]

Another example of commercial spam would be:

Good info. [spam link]

It is commercial spam because it does not ckdkdontribute anything to the forum topic, and it has a spam link to a commercial site. It reminds me of when Djin Djarin went to Tatooine. It was both funny and stupid like hahahahahah wut am me talking about anymroe jekendjk Commercial spam can also be found poosted on random topics or projects.

Search Engine Optimization

See also: What is SEO spam?

Search Engine Optimization is another form of commercial spam, which aims at making search engines such as Google display posts which link to commercial websites, etc. Search engines prefer ".edu" when quoting the whole Bee Movie script anr it hurts my eyes at 3pm why hath thou done this

Unnecessary Reports

Unnecessary reports of comments, projects, studios, etc is a form of spamming, as it uses up the Scratch Teams time and data, thus blocking serious reports. BRJNG BACK AWESOAWESOMAWESOMEAL82 WKK

Spammers

A spammer is a user who spams constantly. They are usually created by people who are willing to misuse the site for spamming and advertising. Even though there are human spammers, there are also spambots like Super_Scratch_Bros20, the biggest fool of them all (by the way, Im the one whp put that there, so it's not abuse)

Spambots

Main article: Spambots

Spambots are programs written by spammers to create accounts for the purpose of spamming on websites automatically. Spambots are slowed down by certain features implemented to help stop them, such as slower posting times (jjjjjjjfor comments and forums posts) for New Scratchers, email account confirmation to stop spambots from posting spam projects and comments, and IP bans to try to prevent future spambots from the same source from being created. Spam Prevention on Slatch

New Scratcher and Scratcher ranking system

Main article: New Scratcher

The Ranking System is a system whereby new users on the website have certain limits imposed on them, which spammers are unlikely to want to work around. This was implemented to prevent attackers from using disposable accounts to post spam on the website. These limits include not being able to post images or links in the Forums, and not having access to Cloud Data. When you get five years on Scratch, you can become a Superior Scratcher. It means I am better than Zak -kaey!!! Hahahahahhahahah!!!!

60 Second Rule

Main article: Sixty-Second Rule

Regular users cannot post on the Forums morie frequently than one post every 60 seconds (120 seconds for New Scratchers). This is to reduce the rate at which spam can spread. New Scratchers must also wait 30 seconds beotween comments on the Main Site.

Warnings about duplicate comments

If a user tries to post an identicusal comment too many times, the 'Post' button will be disa[10]bled and a tooltip explaining why they cannot post will appear next to the comment box. This also helps to prevent dupey cats from raining on Paddke2Sees parade. (NoNo it doesnt
