The Switch to Backdrop () block is a Looks block and a Stack block.

Prior to Scratch 2.0, this block was called Switch to Background () and didn't fire an event upon running.

Example Uses

  • Starting a level
switch to backdrop [level1 v]
when backdrop [level1 v] starts //in a sprite
go to x:(0) y:(0)
  • A game over message
switch to backdrop [game over v]
when backdrop [game over v] starts
hide
  • Simply changing backdrops
switch to backdrops [scene2 v]
