What type of articles need to be written? How do you know when an article needs to be written?

Revision as of 19:36, 22 May 2014

Please keep these in mind

  • If I left a message on your talk page, it does not matter to me whether you respond on your talk page or here.
  • Unless you ask me otherwise, if you leave me a message, I will respond here
  • The Community Guidelines and Scratch Wiki Guidelines still apply here - please follow them.
  • If you leave a disrespectful message, I will remove it without providing a response.
  • If you want a page deleted, I can do that. However, I can't recover deleted pages, protect pages, or edit protected pages.

Your Sandbox

In your sandbox, why do you have 1 2 3 4 5 6 ?

He was testing his bot (5+ edits to a page in 30 minutes)

I think there needs to be more strict bot accounts

I think the problem is that a lot of people want to make bots but what they are proposing has already been done. for example, my bot checks spelling already and there is a spelling bot request. Maybe there should be a regulation towards bots that have similar uses to others? In this current moment, I think there should be like a test to see which bot (mine or spelling bot) is better at finding spelling errors :)

I won't reply to this for a while because I'm going to Canada! I'll come back tomorrow though

Yeah, that's true. Also, the algorithm presented doesn't work very well either.

Canada is cold ;) yeah I think we should maybe deny bot accounts immediately if they are duplicates :)

This guy claims that his bot will catch all spelling mistakes (although I checked it, it has between a 10% and 15% false positive rate), though. I told him he can't create his bot because of the lack of accuracy of his algorithm

Yes, we do not need any spell check bots. Even if Microsoft made one for us.

Linking to other users and directories in wiki pages

Hi, would linking to other users [ON SCRATCH IN GENERAL] be internal or external? Also, I'm wondering how you do an internal link to directories of contents in wiki pages. (I was editing a wiki page and I knew EXACTLY where to put the links, but those two types were types that I didn't know how to do, but I still saved the page)

Linking to a Scratch profile is an external link. Do so like this: [http://scratch.mit.edu/users/jvvg link text]. To link to a subpage from the parent page, use <nowiki>[[/Subpage]], and from anywhere else use [[Parent page/Subpage]]. See Help:Links for details.
